I really wish the 2012 Legendary Pictures Godzilla were actually the continuation of the 98 movie, as much as people hated it. Starring Zilla Jr, of course. I actually prefer the design of the 98 Godzilla, much more animalistic, more natural in how it carries its self while it walks (dragging tails and stumpy, fat legs always looked bad to me) ...combine that with the abilities of Ziila JR, and you have a great movie (could also use a size increase from 50 to 100 meters tall).

Later on TOHO (the company made the original Godzilla) gained the rights to Tristar's monster and officially gave it the title Zilla. LOOK IT UP!!!!!

@superfawful64 It's like a story, the main protagonist, you created him one way and loved it, it's the idea of the moment,you run with it, it becomes classic, you worked with what you had,but years later get new developments, what will you do? you can't rewrite your old classic character, well make a new one simple. They'll be similar, and people will compare them.This is why we get so many alternate versions thins,stories, spin offs etc they are trying to make what should have been or could be.

Pretty much people are debating over and old car and a new car, one is a step up ones a classic, doesn't mean the classic isn't good or can't hold out, with new techniques and human engineering, you get better results and more favorable aspects to reality. Zilla and Zilla Jr look like something God Zilla should have been but could not have at the time.

@superfawful64 If Godzilla had come out during the 2000's and not before, his original state would most likely had been that of Zilla or Zilla Jr, notice how as time, CGI etc progresses with get more advanced more real looking, better aspects in all forms. The creator of God zilla worked with what he could to the best of his abilities and produced a long lasting classic figure which at the time was advanced,now we have something more advanced, it's not the same entity but bet this is more ideal.

I grew up watching Godzilla with my parents, they had all the movies taped on VHS, I watched them more than 2 times each and I still like Godzilla, but what they did with Zilla is just modernize Godzilla. Godzilla is the original iconic figure where at the time we only knew of and the "graphics" and display were good. Zilla is just a modernization with better display.

If you watch Godzilla vs Desatroyah Godzilla was killed by a nuclear heart attack and they had to freeze him when his temp. was 1200F. or else he would expload and they even explain early in the film. Ill post the video of the scene.So eventually if it was cthulthu vs Burning Godzilla it would be a tie.Since Cthuthu burns up and dies and Godzilla exploads.
