  • i just skipped thru, and i heard versions 4 times!!! :)

  • this doesnt help

  • since when does Google have a YouTube accouunt?!

    ...

Does Yahoo have one too? :P

  • @sweetcakes200 Google owns YouTube.

  • This didn't explain anything ...

  • wow.. i hate microsoft office

  • Margaret Reid from AU watched this video.

  • google docs is awesome! thanks google again!

  • O.o

    -_-

    hehehehehehehe

    nice video

helped me a lot when i get started!

  • This is video perfect to share with those who are lost when it comes to the computer and how to move around through the different programs.

  • the video was very informative.

  • I would suggest this video for anyone to view

  • Google docs is a brilliant invention I reckon. Especially seeing is it beat many of the other companies to it. The only difference is, ever since others have become involved, it is now considered to be cloud computing. I've used dropbox and myPDV as well as GoogleDocs and I think they are all reasonable. The only issue I found with google docs when I used it is that it was a tad slow. I'm sure it has improved since I last used it though.

  • yes, she is a girl you can tell when he says the noun "she" so often

  • Check out Onepo.st - desktop folder that syncs with Google Docs!

  • Sam short for Samantha maybe...

  • coowl

  • cool

  • pretty inpresive

  • Google docs is a life saver! I don't have to struggle with my other computer programs anymore :)

  • I like this video, the idea of not having clutter is great. I am sure going to use it more than my word perfect.

  • Mi iscriverò quando sarà visibile e leggibile in italiano

  • whats wrong with the same document existing four times?

  • yeh but what if you give permission to someone who your are working with and they decide to fuck up your file and delete it

  • I don't remember creating this particular YouTube account, but I'll take Google's word for it that I did.

  • Greate ! gogole doc

  • I have google docs, but it is in spanish. I don't speak that language. How do I change it.

  • This video is brilliant. Even an idiot like me understands it. Still...all part of the master plan. Secure link? No such thing.

  • Internet down. Problem are not solved =D

  • cool

  • Screw u microsoft offic u over priced piece of crap

  • Sam is bald!

  • youtube is ownded by google

  • I like Google docs, but really because I consider that my docs are in "the cloud"... therefore I can access from other computers and my droid from anywhere.. not necessarily for sharing and collaborating with others...

  • I need to have it as landscape though thats my problem

  • Did he just support Satan in the end of the video?

  • I HATE GOOGLE DOCS!!!! When I want to send something as an invitation and not as some work collaboration thing, it still opens in Google docs. Thus, it sucks as an invitation. It also strips out images, and those who were supposed to click on something to respond, never see it and never respond. I cannot get rid of this unless I get rid of my email account. Makes me nuts!!! GOOGLE PEOPLE -- help us OPT OUT!!!

  • lawnmower?

  • GOOGLE DOCS IS FREE

  • 2:30 pacman...

  • it would be better if you could do everything you could do on microsoft office on google docs...

  • you got that right joshilton42

I'm using Google Translate

  • 'sam' may be short for 'samantha'. see wikipedia , 'samantha'. i had an Australian woman friend who went by the nickname, 'sam' but her given name was 'samantha'.

  • lol low-budget Google video

  • Yay for mail

  • Only AWESOME! 1 document - everyone makes changes to the SAME copy - Totally Great!

  • in this age there are tons of androgynous names.... sam is one of them, its short for samantha.... i know, they coulda given "sam" some hair instead of making her bald

  • I like sam!

  • I don't see how this is better.. the document is on the web where it can be hacked or anyone at the server can access the doc ...it can be printed out or intercepted during transmission to the server or to the collaborators..lots of opportunity to be compromised

  • @xadam2dudex Gmail is the SAFEST mail service ever so ur telling me that hackers can hack a company's web service which has benn made by hackers

  • @selimdridi hackers are one step ahead of the security people.. u don't hear about the break ins to sites because they don't want u to know about

  • the narrator must be a Filipino...getting the "he" and "she" mixed up...cause clearly Sam is a guy...just saying...<3 Filipinos

  • Sam's hot

  • As long as you know nothing is free, and you turn over all your right to privacy have at the free applications. Google will own you.

  • My mind was blowned : )

  • made for unorganized retards

  • I love it!

  • What if everyone prints off a copy of the Doc. It's still out there. Just sayin.

  • Damn Sam...I thought you were a dude.. =_=

  • Sam is a girl?

  • Avdenego, Sam is a lesbian and she's really good with power tools, carpentry and laying tile.

  • @AppleSouffle she is an editor. why are you trying to add more to her work schedule.

  • @AppleSouffle she is an editor. why are you trying to add more to her work schedule.

  • @avdenego Samantha

  • @avdenego i guess so

  • @avdenego I know. He said she to sam.

  • @avdenego Sam is an it.

  • @avdenego Probably short for Samantha

  • I use OpenOffice to create my documents and Google Docs to share them using the cloud.

  • So far I have no complaints about Google's services, but am I the only one that is worried about how much power and information they are gathering over each of us?

  • @michalchik I have the same question that, What is the guarantee that Google is not stealing business and technology ideas from our official files that we are storing in the servers.

  • @khanolid Calm down there big brother. Everything isn't a conspiracy.

  • @khanolid Because their company would close down if it came out? It's the same level of security that you have if you used gmail or any other web-based email address. Ie not a significant issue in general.

  • @khanolid Read the terms of service. in all reality that information you upload is just as much theirs as yours.

This video starts of on a completely false premise that having multiple copys of your document exist on seperate computers is somehow bad- when infact its better than having a super-file available to the internetz and anyone smart enough to get a hold of it.

  • @khanolid pretty sure they're not going to read every single word in every document every person uploads :D

  • @khanolid What is the guarantee that Microsoft word doesn't upload all of your data to their websevers so that they can steal your ideas? Or whatever word processor Apple uses? Or openoffice? Or any of the others? Do you really do all your confidential work on a machine that never ever touches internet access?

  • @michalchik they own us. It was cute when they asked for 'permission' to for information on Google+.

  • download and create your own paycheck stubs just google paycheck stub templates employmentverified you will find us first

  • Problem microsoft office?

  • did he just say each "perisan" instead of person @0:09

  • @SqurrielRoadKill OUR DOCS WILL BLOT OUT THE SUN

  • MArch, nice google...

  • No, it doesn't rock - it stinks. Much as I would be quite happy to see the death of Microsoft Office, this has a distinct possibility of turning into an even bigger nightmare. We are not all in the business of having what we are passing around edited and revised - so why do we have to get tangled up in the sticky process of Google Docs. I didn't ask for it, don't want it and want to get rid of it. Hate the ruddy thing!

  • apparently subversion revisions have not existed the past 30 years...

  • First they tell you that having multiple versions of your document is part of your problem. Then they say Google docs will keep available the latest version of your document along with all the past versions, so that will solve your problem. Huh?

  • @nowheretosit The problem was actually not in subversions per se, rather in an immediate access to all of them, distributed in many places. Google solves this, as now all collaborators can access all subversions mutually and when they need em.

  • Sam is bald?

  • 186 people disliked an application made by the same company that allowed them to press the dislike button in the first place.

  • It's like wikipedia for everyday documents, only it's in JAVASCRIPT!

  • Another great idea, issued by Google. I wished I had this opportunity when verifying Q.A. documents. Now I would like to practice what I have seen in this video on gmail user agreement :-)

  • I use this to write essays when we have to do it 2 by 2. It is great to be able to see what your friend is writing real time.

  • Two examples of successful companies, VEVO who is ruining music, and Google who is making everything better.

  • @doctormoose6 google ruined youtube :/

  • If only Google didn't take co-ownership to ever doc you upload...

  • @hayleySandG looks good - well demonstrated and creative

  • That didn't explain anything to me or at least, not what I wanted from a tutorial.

Now, where can I get info on how to make a payroll spreadsheet in Google Docs or do I have to use Excel? Anybody?

  • what about hackers? what if those editors worked at the same time? how will that be sorted out?

  • nice =]

    ps: y2b.do.am experiment's

  • google docs= beastly

  • HALLO MR LOH I AM FROM 1/7 HEHEHE HAHAHA

  • Very creative. I used Google Docs right away. It always organizes all of my important documents, with no clutter and confusing files!

  • google docs, ROCKS!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=1umPD3Unopc&feature=channel_video_title

Please view my video on data mining in google. I did this as a college project so your feedback would be mucha appreciated. God bless :)

  • I like the whole scrapbook and string thing. The guys at Google are creative!

  • OBVI not plain English. Plain American maybe.

  • lol, in plain english, that's plane enough... :)

  • is this better than open office?? :D

  • I have listened to this for class....Kimberly Anderson, AU

  • Sharing confidential doc on google Docs is safe ?

  • @mail2nikhil01 only specific people are able to see your documents. the people you choose.

  • @mail2nikhil01 Yes, of course. I use it everyday of my life, multiple times a day. Google docs is my life saver.

  • @ROCKURSOX1800 go to insert and select page break where you want a new page to begin (:

  • Everytime I wanna share docs to edit, people will complain that they have to have a google account to access it.

The way I get around it is by making my docs public.

This creates another problem where my docs are not confiential anymore.

  • i love google docs! make things easier :D

  • Thanks Google!

  • Google docs is essential for pretty much every busienss now.

  • As content writer virtual assistants, google docs made our work easier and faster. By writing in google docs, it makes our work accessible to our peers for easy proofreading and revisions. You also don't need to worry about losing your document because it has autosave capacity. Thanks a lot google!

  • What if we don't want private information online at all?

  • @Kriisttinne erm, don't put it up, if it's private why would you put it up?

the idea is that you can collaborate,

but if you meant that you want to collaborate in private continue using email, it's not going to stop working or anything

    hope that helped

  • Remember Google Wave?

  • I can see the stringz. <3

  • The video should have pointed out File > Revision-History. Many people are afraid of accidental data-loss. Also, GoogleDocs uses OpenDocumentFileFormats —— the OfficeFileFormat of the future.

  • Documents finally have a permanent Home...i am happy for them.

  • Respond to this video... The video is ok given that you are assuming the person know exactly what is being talked about. However not everyone knows what is going one with this. I am one of these newbies to this stuff and needs the simplistic, beginning video. Where is that one.

  • @tiamia17 I would also like to know how to import/export my gmail to another email account. Doesn't mean I don't want to stay with google, means I like Incredimail and the fact that they have all sorts of nifty ways to creat email but I can't get my gmail to be imported to them...WTH is going on with this. Apparently I am not the only one.

  • Summary: The death of Microsoft Office

  • @joshilton42 Not necessarily. Microsoft Office still has a lot more functionality than Google Docs. Especially the Powerpoint, Google docs powerpoint just doesn't cut it for me, and I can't import my themes.

But Google Docs is still great considering that its free.

  • @idiotrun1997 You just have feature bloat syndrome. Less is more. Most of these extra features are only ever used to create tacky presentations anyway. Professional presentations are simple and to the point, not rammed full of crazy transitions and Embedded Objects and Microsoft-esqe bloat. Most users will never use 90% of what Office is offeriing. They have 100 ways to do the same tasks and 98 of them are outdated, unmanageable or just plain wrong.

  • @joshilton42 AMEN!

  • I love the video

  • I like the video

  • thumbs up if ur classsent u here

  • it really didnt answer any of my questions. my classes require me to use google docs, but there is always a huge issue of trying to print out a hard copy or edit the document, like say add a flow chart from one document to another. im constantly wasting time just trying to do that. im no expert, and i was always told google docs was suppose to be simple and easy to use, but iv yet to find anyone that can teach me how to do what i need to for projects.....

  • Google docs was usefull at university however i use SkyDox now for business as google isn't secure enough.

  • so where is this getting at????

  • What if two people are editing it at the same time, including some deletions? Is there a "check out" function like Sharepoint?

  • how do i send a power point?

  • Comment removed

  • Left handed presentation is distracting.

  • I don't like that ideea at all! That means that Google has absolute control over your document. If it's a document that Google or the government doesn't like it, they will delete it without your permision. And even more they have access to all of your data!

  • HOW THE FUCK DO I TYPE ON IT??!?!

  • @SunnyDB1TCH you got to click edit first and then do it. but it only lets you do so much. like if you have charts, it might mess up the shape or format of the chart

  • How do I transfer an email from someone to their document file that I have established for them in my Google docs?

  • I love google docs, I use it for everything!

Recently I had a research paper due to my English Class that I had to submit before 8:30 am on a deadline. I wrote the paper on Google Docs, forget to submit it to the required plagiarism check website, was reminded at 8:23 am. During class I opened Google Docs right on my phone and submitted it by 8:28 am straight from class. AWESOME, LOVE IT.

  • Innovative! :D

  • 177 people overpaid for Microsoft Office.

  • We hit it off so well after another visit busizz4me.info

  • congrats you created wikipedia

  • Sam has a rel masculin body .........took me 2 years at the gym to get those shouldiers

  • This is nice in theory, but many times no one I share a google doc with can open it. They can't even read it in some cases. The last one i posted couldn't even be read because the letters of the words overlapped. It used to work, but then it stopped.

  • DECAF ! ! Please - S L O W D O W N ! !

I'm PROBABLY going to HAVE to say the SAME thing on ALL the Google videos -

and it STILL won't Change ANYTHING ! (YouTube "should" figure out how to give SPEED CONTROL in Addition to Volume control....Oh, I guess you could incorporate it too - if you wanted to.

  • HOW STUPID! Its the same thing as sending an email. All you do is upload it to google docs and they send an email for you basically. Still the same process. People recieve an email but instead of having the convience of downloading it straight from an email they have to go to Google docs and download it. It still creates 4 copies then if four people download it doesnt it!

    Pointless. Sorry Google.

  • @gingerelliott12 Why would people want to download copies of the document when they can just edit it and print it from their browser?

  • @gingerelliott12 Why would people want to download copies of the document when they can just edit it and print it from their browser?

  • @gingerelliott12 That's the cleverness - no-one needs to download it! If they do it's up to them what they do with download as the Google version is THE authority version. If you're not working off that version, you're working on the wrong one!

  • sam is a girl or guy, according to the pic its a guy, grammar says she is a girl

  • Sam ...is a girl? O__O
