The caterpillar tracks and motor came with the 8275 Technic Bulldozer. Other pieces came with the 8421 Mobile Crane and others. My library of Legos just builds up, year on year, so later videos will have pieces I didn't have at the time of filming this.

It's just a caterpillar track with the plates on. The hardest part is the switch trigger, but the series of levers used isn't that complex.
