  • went to your site and it has malware warnings. what is the deal?

  • I realized that I have been working on the mechanical turk version... web app at meemoo dot org :)

  • I'm honestly glad he hasn't released this. He doesn't want to flood the scene with hundreds of people ripping him off. His Idea, His software. He gets to use it.

  • @OctalMage But, his idea is about remixing. Shouldn't others be able to remix the source? Of course, ideas can always be remixed.

  • One cool thing to do is problably get one song use it as the database and then use another song to see what it forms.

  • If he would at least make the audio side of this happen, I'd be happy. Imagine filtering off the bottom of all the audio, effecting the hell out of the output and adding your own kicks, snares, and basslines to this. The results would be SO awesome!

  • No, not a hoax. But I do have two questions /

    a. Why was this never released?

    b. How has something similar still not been created!?

People are doing amazing things with max/msp+jitter, processing, & osc, ect. but still no scrambled hackz clone?

  • @burnsrobe check out cataRT ;>

  • This has to be a hoax. In three years, he never released the so-called software.

  • i like this in the same way that i like when cd's skip. its cool but it gets old realllllllyyyyyyyyy fast

  • Damn it, I've been waiting for this since 2006, and he STILL won't come out with it. I don't care how easy it is to install, just spit it out already.

  • @SuperShadow I completely agree, this has been unreleased for far too long. I think the creator wants to keep it to himself maybe so he can keep touring. If this is ever released it could blow up BIG and provide entry for many artists.

  • @SuperShadow i think he's just keeping it for himself as a proprietary software so he can make money off shows

  • @SuperShadow Just look at ircam, they have release software like this.

  • @brunohgallo which ircam tool in particular?

  • amazing, i want to do something like this too

  • holy crap this is cool.

However, he lost me at "database".

    sigh.

  • when will this be available as an executable program?

  • DJs are people with the title DJ.

just like Musicians are people with the title Musicuan.

    i however, am a retard (b^.^)b

  • Wow! I can remix a video by connecting it to my drum kit, keyboard or guitar...or even my DJ turntables. I wonder if Grandmixer DST, Dr Dre and Sir Mixalot know they are'nt musicians?

  • this technology is important in robotics.

  • You confuse electronic musicians with DJ's. There is a colossal difference. And all music is real music; some of it just happens to have more creative input than others. This has been amply demonstrated by people like MC Hammer etc sampling others work DJ style instead of making their own - yet it's still music. Keep in mind too that SH can be used with self generated content, not just music videos, avoiding that MC Hammer/Daft Punk/Etc effect, creating something entirely new.

  • Who said DJ's were musicians? This guy is not a dj, he's a performer. There's a difference between a DJ, Producer and Live Performer. Maybe you should take your uniformed and obsolete views somewhere they are appreciated. Alabama maybe?

  • it's funny that every generation has cynical folks like yourself. recall, for example, collage artists of the dadaist movements. are collage works not art? electronic music collages are works of art too right?

  • ...sigh.... been waiting for the software for a few years now....hell, i'd be willing to pay for it at this point....if you were to release it, even in a jumbled mess of code, you would EASILY get back into the public spot light, so many sites would cover it..

  • This is superb. The greatest forward motions right now are happening in music...

  • this is way too cool to use for music. develop it further for practical applications.

  • A very respectable evolution from knob-twiddling DJ's

  • The people like it!

  • Take two dvd turntables into a mixer sending source audio through this software

Mix the video response of the software in with your original dvd mix on a second master mixer this software would layer in some insane thread which you could use or discard as you see fit within the mix..

the art of it comes in picking the right videos to bounce off of to remain cohesive with your original..

Thank you sven,, now where do I get my hands on the software!

  • Cool stuff indeed.

  • subtitles please...

  • sheeeeeeeeeet... genius!

  • I'd really want one of these. :)

  • please release this music...

  • what the f....

  • You are a genius!!!! I want it!

  • clever and super creative go ahead and spread in the world

  • hi, das ist super idee. ich arbeite in dieser branche. sowas fehlt uns... great! interesting...

  • ah, that was refreshing^^

    keep up the good work!

  • Very cool! I'd buy the software if it was under $100. Useful for contemporary multimedia artists exploring the detrtitus of our postmodern world.

This may not be appealing for those who haven't studied art, music, or media production.

  • Concept is interesting but lacks refinement.

  • Woah, this is interesting and has such potential!

  • When he started doing his mime routine, i got lost

  • Yeah, ok, it's intersting...FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS, then it's just a MESS! What's the actual point of it?

  • Does the installation kit include an extra pair of eyes? And migraine medication?

  • This is a great video. I'd like to see more of this technology. Unbelievable! Everything we can do now is really just scratching the surface of our potential. Thanks!

  • Nice...! I wonder if this will do for music videos what DJ scratching did for vinyl records?

  • this is awesome

  • That...was amazing. Unbelievable.

  • This is unimaginabley cool...long live the new wave of media literacy!

  • THat looks FUN!

  • YEAH>> algorith art! it makes me feel like I am watching static though, need to smooth the transitions out or something! Ich spreche deutsch, das ist de SHIT

  • That is probably the most elite thing I have seen in my lifetime.

  • Reminds me of a bad trip on acid.

  • that is absolutely insane

  • Watching this nearly gave me a complete religious epiphany--and if you know MY religion, you might have reason to be concerned!

  • LOVELY!

Im looking forward to see the release, and go through the code to see the algorithms used! The speed is incredible! GOOD and godlike work!

  • Hmm.. its kinda cool. Seems totally random though.

  • This is absolutely ingenius. I would like to see the search algorithm to see how he is able to get his results in realtime.

  • shucks. not available for download yet :(

  • Anyone remember the show Max Headroom?

  • I'm having a seizure!

  • I am very impressed. Would love to see a show.

  • wow thats some badass shit

  • very intellegent
