  • its a trap!!!1oneeleven

  • lol 3:47 is pretty funny. My fav part.

    Nice vid!

  • Wow dude, this is freaking awesome! Is the skybox messed up although? In my opinion, it doesn't really seem to fit the map. I can see more of a hellish looking sky, one covered with flames and ash. Possible some ash particles or something.

    I love it so far!

  • First of all, amazing! :D

All maps weren't done in one play-through right? I mean, each maps best time are put together in a movie and not a consecutive run.

Is there any artificial help like the one used in some other games like Doom, where you play it but it's slowed down heavily whenever you want it to be.

No matter what it's some awesome running, kudos on that!

  • "each maps best time are put together in a movie and not a consecutive run"

    Yep, that's correct.

"Is there any artificial help like the one used in some other games like Doom"

Nope, none whatsoever. It's all down to lots of skill and persistance :-)

  • @effenpeffen : Yeah, the demos weren't done in one sitting, but stiched together at a later stage. And no, no artificial help is allowed.

  • 0:00 - 9:14

    utter awesomness

    dude you own at quake!!!

  • Amazing!

  • holy fuck

  • fffffuck

  • Remarkable video! :) Shared it with everyone I know.

  • super super cool

    QUAKE is the beast!!!!!!!!!!

  • brilliant

  • have my children

  • MEGA INTRO!!! AWESOME VID

  • This guy make script or slowed game, because that is not possible to HUMAN make it so perfectly.

  • I can assure you the entire movie is legit from start to end. Every demo has been varified with anti-cheating meassures. And it's not just one guy running through the game, it's a team effort.

  • Hold your horses young man. It seems your knowledge on Quake speedrunning is quite limited. As you say yourself, we can't be 100% certain everything is fine and dandy, but with all the meassures we have to detect cheating and the fact that everyone is required to record their demos with anit-cheating software, means we're fairly certain nothing has been tampered with. The command you're talking about is host_framerate and we have a way of checking if that's been used, so that's a no go as well.

  • Believe whatever you want, but the fact remains that we're up to almost 10500 Quake demos on SDA alone, and you believe all of those to be cheated too? Come on dude, Quake has been speedrun since '96, and what you see what you get. It's years of hard work. It took us nearly 6 years to finish up Qd100Qlite2, and it took that long because a lot of hard work and persistance went into it. It wasn't done overnight using some silly script.

  • That is just awesome.

  • Wow @ 4:14

  • Why is Chthon killed with only one lightning strike? I have to use 3 to kill him... Does it have anything to do with walking over him to go to the other button? Because the time between pressing the buttons is so short there's some bug that kills Chthon at once?

  • Only one lightningstrike is neccesary to kill Chthon on Easy Skill :-)

  • Aaaaaaah :)

I never played that level on easy skill I guess :)

  • EPIC WIN

  • wow @ 3:48

  • So much win. Supernatural grenade hopping.

  • How'd he kill the ogre on the results screen for E1M2?

  • It was done using a trick called "intermission kill". If you hold down your fire button as you walk into the exit (this can be done on any map), you will still be shooting nails at the intermission screen. This trick can be done with the nailgun, the super nailgun and the lightning gun.

  • Oh that's so cool. I'll have to try it. All these years and I never knew about it!

  • Yeah, it's a cool trick, and it's been used on quite a few demos already, but it's also very luck dependant. Sometimes you get the wrong intermission screen, or sometimes the monster is in the wrong place, etc.

Check out the current 100% records on e4m1, they're both using that trick with great success.

  • @QuakeSpeedrunning

On average. How much do people need to practice on a single map before they complete it?

  • That is just wrong haha.

  • And to think we paid upward of $100AUD for a game that had less than 9 minutes of gameplay! LOL

  • loved that game
