I think normally a leak is fixed with a pipe clamp or a saddle clamp. It might be a good idea to still come back with the clamp over that tape. Saddle or pipe clams are found at hardware stores.
Yea, I just got done wrapping a drain pipe under my sink with the stuff; well it's called Wrap Fix Tape by Duck. It is in the elbow part on the bottom so I'm interested to see if this stuff works. The pipe above that is wrapped with something that looks like this but has hardened solid.
