What would be wrong with being angry at Roy Masters ? Wouldn't that be only natural ?
If I have been used by people, I find I am really angry at myself for allowing it to happen, and for my apparent naivete.
I don't "forgive" myself and do that inner child number, I try to learn from the mistakes. I guess you've made some big ones so have we all. As Norman Mailer says, if you are going to make mistakes for god's sakes make big ones. All the better to learn, all at once, than by degrees.
@opportunityforgrowth I'm really not angry at Roy Masters personally, I just don't like what his teachings and B.S. can do to people's lives. He basically does everything he claims to be against -- he uses people, he lives off their downfall, he reacts emotionally to people, he's impatient, he has a huge fat bulbous billowing ego, and he's not even honest enough to admit the truth about himself.

@inflatableclown6 You're absolutely correct. I grew up in a family with a father who followed Masters obsessively, and the results were abuse and lunacy, followed by family break-up and divorce. Thank God I never let dad push me into being a RoyBot.
Any way, I am glad your doing what you think is the right thing to do. Helping others I feel is something everyone really wants to do. I have read his position on music being sinful. Does that mean that I don't listen to music, absolutly not. The way you choose to interpret his meaning of that is up to you. What is sinful anyway? It is a fairly subjective topic to say the least. Also by definition you do come off as resentful towards him. I don't really care what you think of him, I just decided to comment on this video as I have seen it on the same page as roy masters anytime I have typed in his name for the last few years
You say you are not resentful of him yet you act like it. "One mans trash is another mans treasure". I have personally found the things Roy Master's talks about to be very helpful to me. I have a much better understanding of myself and the world than I did previously. I will not go into all the details because it does not matter, only to me it does. I have not purcased anything from his website. I have however read some of his books. I enjoyed the Finding God in Physics book, it makes you think.
@mcgritty25 Nothing wrong with Roy helping you have a clearer understanding of things. Not much I can do about people judging me to be a pissed-off ex-follower with an ax to grind, but the fact is I don't give a sh-- what people think anyway. Laymen like you and I might think Finding God in Physics is thought-provoking because we just don't know any better, but real physicists who've studied Roy's material find it completely laughable.
You are certainly opinionated, good luck. Your passion (ego) is obviously resentful towards the truth (or close to it). Look at Roy's intent! To help people. Even if you do no agree with it how can you be mad or resentful towards someone who made their lifes work to help poeple? You are as far as I can see not helping anyone! Why don't you encourage people to do their own research and form their own opinions, instead of imposing your opinions of Roy to them, up front, before they even know him?
@mcgritty25 Roy's intent is to live off people, taking their energy and their money. Many people claim he does good, but there are a host of people who can testify to the damage he has caused to their life, so it's not only my opinion. I have no reason to resent Roy, nor do I. I just don't like how much he hurts people when they buy into his message. Furthermore I'm only stating my opinion, not imposing it on anyone.

I've also helped and counseled a lot of people who came to me for advice about how to deal with the aftermath of what following Roy did to their life. Yes when the false prophet Masters dies his teaching will fall into the dust bin of history of other cults. No one will remember him in a hundred years. I'm not a student of Masters, only casually familiar with his teaching regarding women and marriage. I see him simply as a specialized variation of male backlash teaching against modern culture. Women are more prone to manipulate men because men are vulnerable to it, especially in a rabidly sexualized culture. Women are no more evil than men but western society has exaggerated the battle between us.

My comments about Masters just address his authoritative and rigid assertion about 'this is the way a man should be'......and the men who listen and follow are forced into a way of trying to behave that may not be at all natural to them. In short, Roy seeks to eliminate any individuality between men -- to him unless you are a carbon copy of him you're not a man. Masters is a known cult leader, by the way.

I did see the youtube interview of the wives who's husbands were followers of Masters ideology. They seemed to imply that sexuality was withheld by these men near to the point of abstinence in their marriages. Biblically in marriage neither partner has the right to deny the other. Abstinence is for singles which those men probably should have remained. It's chaos these days.

Yes you're correct, there is a passage in the Bible that states 'the marriage bed is undefiled'...in other words, there is no sin in marital sex. Men -- and I'm speaking in general terms -- make themselves too available and too easy to get. Roy Masters shows men how to play "hard to get." -- how to resist manipulation by dependent women. He's saying essentially the same thing as radio talk show host TOM LEYKIS (listen to Tom's comments about women on YouTube). The title of this video is stating the opposite of what is true.

@adamamida I absolutely DO NOT claim to determine what maleness is other than acknowledging that a real man is just an individual, he defines himself and will not let others define him. Roy's idea of a man is someone who fits into a Roy-shaped mold with absolutely no deviations, no diversity, and no individuality.
@adamamida As a woman I am qualified to recognize (not determine) what maleness is because it's up to me to choose the right man to join myself to. All a man is, is someone who insists on just being himself, that's it. I've chosen a man who is very masculine, yet not a bully; he's gentle, but not weak. There's no power struggle between us, he doesn't have to dominate me and I never try to dominate him. He is my helpmate and I am his, we are partners. We love each other deeply.

I think the reason that this works is because both he and I were complete and secure in ourselves before we met, therefore being together only made us both stronger. I also believe that a woman shouldn't be a puzzle that a man always has to figure out, she should be honest and open -- she should make his life better, not worse. Otherwise, what's the point in being with her?

@princelord55 I don't keep up on the changes Roy makes in his content these days, but classic Roy teaching states that 'sexuality is the outcropping of man's failing' and that only a man who is asexual is truly enlightened and free of sin. He holds his 40 year record of no sex as an example of this. This marriage is my first. The father of my children, with whom I had 4 children lives 600 miles away in a convalescent home and I was never married to him. I'm not a student of Masters, only casually familiar with his teaching regarding women and marriage. I see him simply as a specialized variation of male backlash teaching against modern culture. Women are more prone to manipulate men because men are vulnerable to it, especially in a rabidly sexualized culture. @princelord55 I don't keep up on the changes Roy makes in his content these days, but classic Roy teaching states that 'sexuality is the outcropping of man's failing' and that only a man who is asexual is truly enlightened and free of sin. He holds his 40 year record of no sex as an example of this.
