This planet is still changing, Another 150 years some islands will disappear and some new ones will pop up. A thousand years coastal cities will be under the ocean but new land will take its place. So on and So on. The earth is dynamic not static people. Co2 will drop then rise again. Just because we can detect things right now with our limited technology. Advances 10 years may yield something different. It was only 40 years ago when Global Cooling and the Modern Ice age was on time mag.

One thing Stossel or anyone else failed to mention is that because the gov't provides free roads (in the USA), this encourages more people to drive. Maybe privatized roads would be better because the now-obvious cost would discourage driving.

Actually if you think about it, the roads are unkept right now. Therefore if the roads are unkept more energy is needed to go through a road. A private road for a modest fee (few dollars a month) would keep the road in good shape. Meaning Tires will wear out less, fuel efficiency will go up (due to tires being in better shape) as well the roads would be cleaner. Most Libertarians are in favor of privatizing roads, having the gov do tolls would be horrid.

Exactly. Tell me in what kind of environment more people die - warm or cold? We should celebrate (if there is any) the warming!

Right, and here is some more reality for you.

If it had been a mere 1/4 of a degree in global cooling over the past 30 years, then we would be hearing about how global cooling is such a scary problem. And if the difference were 1/20th of a degree, we would still hear about how "man made" and scary it is. There is never a proper scientific context, attitude, or theory used to support this political movement because that would reveal how empty it is.
