Actually, the very first Africans to come to America in the 1600s were free indentured servants just like many of the first white people to come to America, before they were eventually converted to outright slavery based on their race.

Besides, the circumstances of a person's immigration doesn't make them any less immigrants.

And there was far more slavery in South America and the Carribean than in the USA. In fact there was more Slavery in AFRICA itself then there ever was in the USA.
