indie music, i think, aims more for content rather than sales.but anyway i'm pretty sure nowadays, people refer to the indie as a genre that appeals to "hipsters" and such.

questions:who is Jesse? also at the end of the song when he says he has turned himself into a demon, is it because he possibly desires death? or because he will inevitably approach death? He definitely alludes to an existence after death through the line "dear shadow alive and well", does it refer to the demon which our soul may become after death or does it refer to our memories that are left behind and carried on by others, also is being a demon really a bad thing?

Hi, those are interesting questions. I thought when he asks jesse "what have i done?" that maybe jesse is upset with him for some reason and because he doesn't know it 's torturing him and turning himself into a demon.

But regardless of the artists' intentions i think any meaning you get out of a piece of music, art etc is valid. thanks for adding a new dimension or way to hear this song.
