Hey Everybody! I have just released my new electronic album “Sub-Zero” which is heavily influenced by the world of Resident Evil and the music of Masami Ueda (and various other game composers). If you're interested you can listen to the full album on my youtube channel, as well as download the album for free!
IMAGINE: you and your girlfriend are in the RE videogame and the first time she see's a zombie dead on the floor she cries wanting you to comfort her as she holds onto you While this THEME plays.
I love this theme. I miss the days of the original Resident Evils. Back when this series was pure quality and you really felt the game when you were playing it. With Resident Evil 4 and 5, you simply feel like you're taking a back seat and observing from outside. The original 3, 0, and the Remake of 1 really left you feeling like you were immersed in the game and trying to survive, a priceless feeling games just don't deliver anymore...
@john2earth I Agree Entirely.. However, I Believe 4 Was Pretty Good.. Like In Certain Positions You Were Able To Barricade Yourself Inside A Room, And It Seemed More Interactive.. But 5? Garbage!!!!! It Feels Like A Shooter, As Opposed To A Survival Horror Game.. And That Really Disappointed Me..
@itzJeeKew Although I'm an advocate of the old style of 1, remake of 1, 2, and 3, I must say I did play through Resident Evil 5 when it came out, because I'm such a big fan of Chris and Wesker especially, and I found it to be somewhat enjoyable due to the plot, although it doesn't even remotely compare to the originals. Resident Evil 4's plot I found to be absolutely stupid and unnecessary.
@itzJeeKew (continued reply) But with that said, I can appreciate one thing with 4 over 5. 4 made a greater attempt to keep the game within a survival horror style whereas 5 was all out action with no horror whatsoever. That's something that greatly disappoints me. The contrast between the Resident Evil remake on the Gamecube and Resident Evil 4 and 5 is night and day with just how much better the remake is.
@itzJeeKew I think their were some enjoyable things about 4. Alot of people liked it. I can definitely respect that. Sometimes companies try different things and they don't always please everybody. Oh well. 4 still seemed to do pretty well so it's all good with me.
@john2earth What about Code:Veronica? It had scares and action combined...If they had continued with that way of thinking, they wouldn't make RE 5 action only...
@golbezant Would you recommend RE0 to a purist who only truly loves the first two games? I was considering trying it out if only because it's the last in the series in which they use the time honored pre rendered background method, which I think is unrealistic/old but stylistically beautiful
@IantheLiberal I never finished zero, personally. But after playing for a few hours,I would say that it is an interesting prequel to the legend. As for the pre-rendered background method,I actually like it though now the games have interactive scenery.
Overall,a purist should give it a go for the sake of fully understanding the plot as a whole. It certainly lives up as a legitimate RE game, but in my opinion, the best RE is none other than the very first game( original AND remake.).
@golbezant I luv the prerendered backgrounds. Was done for convenience, but it has a nice effect, like you're navigating inside a paining. It doesnt rly make much sense that every light is on in the big settings, thats prob also done for convenience, but it lends the games a nice sub-reality.
The remake struck me as unnecessary, but I didn't finish it. Side note, I just beat the original non director's cut with Chris, was very surprised it didn't make me fight the Tyrant on the helipad
After getting off of a graveyard shift....I play this song as a fall sleep...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

@john2earth Agreed.. The Only Purpose 4 Served, In My Opinion Was To Piggyback 5's Story With The Plagas Infection.
