The Reason he sings those vocals is because in the original track on Rage Against The Machines first album "self-titled" maynard actually sings taht part, but usally the bassist just sings it in most concerts because maynard doesnt play with RATM usually, so this is sort of reunion of sort. The reason Rage and Tool are sort of Close is because Tom Morello and the Guitar Player from tool are both from libertyville and friends.
