  • The WEMO is higher pitched than the Change Sun, good test...wemo was using more amps to get more thrust. If it was using the same amps or slightly higher one could say it was same pitched

  • Young ,man i found your test for flyfly a bit unfair .As i have that fan in MB-339 and these are my reading .fan out side like yours . Vm20.90 Wp1491.9 Ap70.34 Then i put it back in to my MB -339 with wings on ,here are the readings Vm21.4 Wp1777.8 Ap80.48 . motor 1500kv out runners with 6S 4000map 20c.My 6.5 lb MB-339 take off grass with ease ,watch me under hobby kingmb-339 . Thank you for sharing .

  • I might have missed this but what motor did you use in the Wemotec unit?

  • @teradactyal I used the same 36-75 2075KV inrunner motor with heatsink on each fan.

  • On point! Great shootout, looking forward to more!

There are probably many ways to do it, but how exactly do you balance a 70mm fan? Or a 64mm or 90mm... What materials do you use and how?

Not saying you have to stop doing what you are doing, but sometime in the future if you have time it would be great to see a proper how-to on balancing.

Right now it scares me, I feel I would do more harm than good to my rotor or motor. It could even be fair to say some failures are a result of inbalance.

  • @Ispintechno1 Thanks mate. With balancing however there's really no proper way to do it as everybody has their own way, there's no real consensus. Some use glue, some use tape. Some only statically balance where others both statically and dynamically balance. Have you tried a google search? I know there's a threads out there on it but unfortunately not many videos. I'm just in the middle of a HC Hobby Mosquito, How to build a thrust stand and FMS P47 video atm, so would have to be after those

  • Well done comparison !

  • It's not apples to apples because you are using too low of a kV motor for the Changesun on 5S. On the Wemo your amps are 34% higher but you're only getting 20% more thrust. I would be interested to see the thrust on the Changesun at 87 amps. Also, the Wemo fan costs 400% more than the Changesun!

  • I hear what you're saying however the ratio of amps increase to thrust output is not linear & should therefore not be considered so.I..do..say in the video that the Changesun is a much softer rotor & requires a higher KV motor,I also say that it costs alot more than the Wemo.I also mention you can get good performance out of the Changesun however pure performance was not the only factor which I considered when I gave my scores. Ease of assembly, reliable etc must also be considered.
