No vest is bulletproof, the vest only cushions the impact, but the bullet does penetrate the skin. The only one I seen so far that was actually "bulletproof" is the Dragon Skin vest

that vest won't be saving military troops at war. they should make a vest that is strong enough to prevent IED explosion and helmets also. No even better, make humvee's strong enough to stand an IED explosion or any other explosives.

Yea those do good with the hand gun. My buddey in the state police showed me several types of vests one is the soft kind that they show here the other is the same but has a tough plastis and sometimes clay insert to keep internal injuries from happening. The flex vest shown can stop a rifle round depending on the rifle and ammo but you would still die from the impact. Just for all you creeps out there to penetrate the vest use smaller harder bullets and higher velocity ammo
