  • amazing .. thanks for sharing .. god bless

  • Holy crap, nice solos!

  • Wow! Your guys not only play really well, but understand the music itself.

Congratulations! I've heard professionals play this with much less energy and musicality. Don't worry about your intonation- this will come with practice and listening. Keep those feet 'tappin and you got it!

  • ya noe my school choir is singing this! its alot of fun but ya noe hard work needs to be put in!

  • my middle school is better the soloists are better the drummer plays the right beat etc

  • CHE MERAVIGLIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

    WOW!

  • you have a bass clarinet in your big band....?

    thats wicked :D

  • @dibby656 my middle has one. our highschool has 3. marching band has 2. well for my school

  • @Brainfreeze56 im the only bass clarinetist at my school, and im always stuck with the crappy parts :(

  • @dibby656 some songs the bass clarinet gets really good parts. if u play impact by sean o loughlin. the bass clarinet has awesome parts. i play tuba so i dont know that much about BC

  • you guys need better practica look up this: (PARTE 2) CONCIERTO MUSICAL 5-27-10 we're playing the same thing

  • Comment removed

  • This isn't the original song, right?

It's a bit watered down, our Jazz Band played the original(:

  • only one trombone?

  • Man, that first solo started out on fire! You guys sound good for a middle school! THe drummer could learn to swing a little better, though.

  • Sound quality is terrible

  • damn, this was pretty good!

  • I think this is great. Only thing is Sing, Sing, Sing has nothing to do with Louis Prima. This is Benny Goodman

Louis Prima is famous for the song Just a Giggilo

  • @loralie5974 Louis Prima WROTE Sing Sing Sing

Most people have only heard the Benny Goodman Version (1938)

  • @barrymotex So cool! I didn't know that. Thanx for telling me

  • the bass clari player bothers me

  • Yeah, me too. I play the bass clarinet, but the thing is it looks small on me, and I'm not hyper-active like that kid is.

  • hey i remember this song

it was in a comercial, but i forget which one...

  • i r very good band play in. i play french forn

  • Cute.

But Parents, Grandparents, or Arrogant Middleschoolers ... this is not good enough for Youtube!!!

  • Keep in mind this is middle school kids.....4-6 grade. Most of them have only been playing for 2 years. They'll have plenty of time to improve.

If you want to knock them you should post a video of yourself or better yet your own 12 year old playing better.

  • Sorry, middle school is 6-8.

  • In LA elementary is k-3 Middle is 4-6 Jr High 7-8 High 9-12

  • Middle school is 6-8. In LAUSD elementary is 1-5, jr high is 6-8, high school is 9-12

Middle and Jr. High are interchangeable terms.

  • this is fake and gay

  • ouch why, Louis Prima would not be whistling this version at the pearly gates inn, and i think Benny Goodman would be equally upset, altough i firmly believe everybody should have a crack at sing sing sing, its the perfect thing thing thing!

  • When I was in grade 8 I completely mastered the Beach Boys on my tenor sax.

  • 5 stars nonetheless

  • The saxophones were awesome.!

howevr, I cant say the same for the trumpets...

  • very good effort :)

  • They are on the right track. This is a hard one to follow however. I mean Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman...the poor kids!! I give them A for even trying! Practice!!!

  • i hate this one.. the upload is very bad... tghouh i like the sax solo.. 3 star ! bad recording !

  • man....

i dislike this arrangment of sing sing sing...

of course they have it becasue there middle schoolers but its not the same as the original..

  • put a mike on that tiny Gene Krupa, please, the intro demands it, and his solo sounds loud instead of unbridled.

Lots of talent, Keep it up, and SWING baby!

  • that's a hot band. Is it just me, or do these guys seem really good for their age?

  • thats amazing , especially for a middleschool. :D

  • wow were 's your drums

  • theyre in middle school....

  • This is pretty great! :DD

  • it's better on a higher tune. and the glare is gone. i remember my middle school orchestra being pretty boring when it came to upbeat music. wrong saxaphone too.

BUT, i have to remember this is middle school

  • wow, not bad for middle school!

  • This is a middle school? I'm impressed.

  • Agreed

  • wow you guys are great keep up the great work practice make great. feel what your playing .and dont forget to play from the heart. all the emotions that you put on the song, will be felt in the audience. and dont forget to have fun while doing it.

  • This isn't bad but, I heard some wrong notes from some kids. This would be a low C.

    Anyways, it's pretty good.

  • the trumpets should be playing the growling part at the beginning. does the barry have a neck strap or something? is it just resting on the floor?

  • You kids did a wonderful job, especially the first sax soloist...hard work, right guys? Keep it up! Bravo....

  • my school band is playing this but my music teacher remixed it a lil bit :D

  • Hey, they could go out as the Pharoh Saunders - Albert Ayler tribute Big Band! But seriously, I'm glad kids are learning about this music, 'cause god knows what is pushed at them today is depressing garbage...

  • it is stupid music, and i'm not that old and i like the good old music

  • this is the good old music

  • i like the benny goodman version, thats i don't like this one

  • i didn't mean this as stupid music, i love old music, it's just i love the benny goodman version better

  • You guys did a good job with that and I am sure as you keep playing you will all become a great little band..Good Luck..and Hang tuff...

  • the second saxophone soloist needs to work on actually tounging the notes... you could tell that was all throat.

  • So people know who the artist is.

  • awesome!!!

  • my friend goes here!

  • Lotta solos, hehe. Still nice.

  • It so beautiful!!

  • then tenor sax one isnt improv-im playing this solo on alto sax and it sounds like what i have on my music

  • great work here :)

just wondering were the solos read or improvised?

    keep up the awesome work!

  • for this song, most of the time, they're made up.

  • awesome, i was just wondering

  • nope its written, by louis prima exactly note for note. still takes a lot of skill to play.

  • The first kid with the sax was the best. They never played like this in my school. Why??

  • is this in san carlos?

  • ya, Central Middle School, 1 year ago

  • im from SC!!!

  • haha mattawan middle school jazz band is better

  • man my band is honor band in texas middle school level

  • Camera placement and mic placement are faulty. This is a problem when using camera's built-in mics, but raising the camera might help.

Better balance might be achieved recording from overhead with a aeparate recorder. The drums especially need closer micing.

One way to do more elaborate recording on a budget is with several recorders, and to have a studio assemble the tracks later.

Good to see the kids playing with such a neat sound.

  • the sax kid is better than lisa simpson lol

  • :)

    yup, that's me

  • Really awesome kids!!! What is that, about 6th grade? Glad they are teaching really good music. When my kids were in band I had to hear Joseph and The Technicolor Dreamcoat.

  • Hi Nico....Ms. Banfield here. I was searching for a different topic and came across your video. You rock! It was fun hearing and watching you play. I am very impressed. Have a great summer!

  • you guys sound really good!5 stars

  • They're pretty good fore middle schoolers. Good solo on that first tenor sax.

  • middle schoolers are awesome,we played this at my school,it was probably not perfect, but great!

  • I think you're wonderful. Love that swing

  • their music posture is a lil off but they sound great...o n bout da bari sax if u rnt big enough to play it then play another instrument till ur big enough to play it so it isnt on the floor being damaged plus if his posture was a lil better he could prob play it way better without it having to b on the floor

  • not bad for their age. they're right about the bari sax being on the floor - they should be wearing a neck strap. it damages the instrument and the sound is changed by the vibration of the instrument being absorbed into the floor.

the solos were kind of weak, but they're not bad for their age.

  • Too Bad more kids dont play or enjoy this Music I am 23 and I LOVE it! Throw rap out the window Sing Sing Sing!

  • I play bari sax and, I'm basicly a beginner, but there is no reason the bari sax should be on the floor.

  • dude all he bari sax players in my jazz band have thier saxes on the floor.

  • Well, thats your jazz band, A bari Sax should be played with a neck strap or harness

  • Because bari is heavy

  • None at my band have it.

    Looks soo ugly

  • Although it IS a little big for the guy here :P

  • man i TOTALLY agree. they should have that crazy harness for it. completely damages the bottom of the sax. i play alto and besides that this is really impressive for a middle school. looove louis prima. keep it jazzy:)

  • yeah, i hear ya

once he got big enough, the band teacher told him to use a neckstrap, so its all taken care of.

  • my jazz band is playing this also.. its so fun to play

  • can I have sheet music? I want to play this song also in a Jazz Band... pls

  • why on earth does the bari sax player have his horn on the floor? i guess they don't know better, though someone should inform them

  • OH EM GEEE

my jazzy band is doing this song too X3

  • one more thing is it just me or is da bass in the front?

  • dats a funky way of playing da bari...

  • lol, the alto base clarinet's pants kept falling down XD

  • Nice ( a lack of quality drum but nice anyway)

  • goood

but the drummer was off a lil bit.

  • nice!!

    very good!

  • hey, i play sax+clarinet, and i was just wondering how old you guys are? and what arrangement are you guys playing? (obviously not the original)
