Much Respect to you!! I love your Work and I love the General Lee and the Song is great too.. I woud love to build something like this with my Dad but I think i would be a little bit too expensive :) And so much love to Details is much much respect worth too.. And Im sorry for my bad English, but im just 14 and Im from Germany :)
@lettragepc All said and done it only cost me my house! Hahaha!! All in all it was right around $40k. It was well worth it, the memories created doing this with my son are priceless. He is now going to be 13 and can't wait to drive it.
awesome build, the car looks amazing. You will not believe how much of an influence this car had on my childhood. I wish I had one just like yours parked outside my place :)
You could have had a really nice Charger instead of building a General Lee. I think the cars look so much better when they're not 'Generalized' but that's just my opinion. At least you saved it from the brain dead backwoods stunt show organizers that claim cars like the one you found are "unrestorable" and 'jump' them in their shows thus completely destroying the car from ever being driven normally.
My uncle Jason got a beautiful 69 charger for 9,000 on ebay, tore everything out of it, put a Chevy 350 in it and one month later, demo Derby. That was 9 years ago. I still hate him for it.
Such a beautiful car, I'm glad there's still people like you that put in their time, effort & money to restore these beauties to "General Lee" status! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pick her up for? Again, such a perfect job restoring one of the most memorable cars in the world!

What color paint did you go with?
calmquist0 6 months ago
@calmquist0
Flame red - Lead Dukes mechanic Tom Sarmento told me that seemed to be the most common and correct color
