I wish you lived near i could help you.The old mule needs a complete over- hall to be fit to use ,its feet badly need to be trimmed then regulary ,probably needs its teeth filing,they grow sharp edges on , molars which prevent them chewing well .

Re t puddles..Mate if I was were walking that track I would not walk through the puddle You seem like fun , try and find someone knowlegable will be an expert somewhere-what about a rescue organisition they would know.Good luck
