My 4 year old LOVES this- she'll sometimes sing "Its you and me in the Sumertime, daddy," just out of the blue. Sometimes even in russian, 'cause Katya is Katya.
reading writing ,arithmatic, only cd to stand the test of time in the car, must be 18/19 years now and still not boring.oh the days.kids love it too,They think i was cool when i was younger,if they only knew lol
Top band and top people, remember asking David if he could sign my T Shirt in the bar after a gig in Manchester just as he was about too Harriet came over with a sundays T Shirt telling him to sign that instead, and that he shouldnt knacker up my new t shirt!!!Really nice people, with great tunes, shocked that its been 13yrs since there last album!!!Oh to be a student again!!!!
I like that the camera dwells on each of the players -- usually it just focuses on Harriet, which is great, but they all are a part of the super sound of the band. How great to be that close as an audience.
Wow, I recently rediscovered these guys hearing "Here's where the story ends" in a store over their radio... however it wasn't till now looking at this vid that I realized it was these guys-- I didn't know them by looks or name, but I do remember this song from the 1990s, playing the radio at work. It isn't till you hear a song again after years that you even remember you knew it, much less how much you miss it, or miss the entire era of music.
@TheChemi sure. But the cool thing is those of us in our late twenties to early forties grew up with parents who were afraid of new technology, which has made our generations more determined to embrace advances. Even so, I knew what a modem was for as far back as 1984 but did not seriously start using the internet until the late 90s... Youtube is such a valuable resource for classic songs. Torrent sites are too. Great music is allowed to live on
Isn't TOTP notorious for its bands lip syncing through their songs? Someone pls educate me about that.....She's not lip syncing here, so that;s why I ask. Thanks.
'rafalweb'- there r a few different stories-main1is some shows will not allow a band2play live-so they have the "tape" playing behind them. I also heard it has something2do w/ insurance. Amazing singers like Harriet or Sarah Brightman were told- "Look, this is the way we do it, for many reasons but your mic is ON so YES you are singing live," etc. American shows used2in the 70's/80's, then it stopped -Although w/ acts like justin t. it is usually everything lip synched then 'talking' over it.
There were some musicians union rules about miming - they got around it here by singing live (as Harriet is here) but over the studio backing track. Even the OGWT did this.
Thanks for posting. Big...BIG Sundays fan. Have always loved Harriet's vocals. Shame they have not done anything for quite some time but I can understand they wanted to focus on raising their children. Still, nice legacy to leave behind :)
I like everything The Sundays do, but this album has some interesting overdub of Harriet's voice including this "live" clip. Makes an apealing sound. Great band with a great sound. Thanks!
This is a band from back when talent sold records. The Sundays were unique. Nothing sounded like them for at least a decade. Then all the kids on American Idol (so to speak), took all the credit. I do like Vanessa Carlton though. The music is better produced nowadays, but this kind of music is a blessing given to us by The Sundays.
I could not agree more, today there is more emphasis on production than talent... Harriet gets my vote for best rock soprano... trouble with this group was that they never were about money, so we only got three albums... maybe a clear case of less is more.
You must have been under the impression that I thought this was a "new" video or something when I know damn well that Static and Silence was created in 1997 and the band hasn't been heard from since. And who are you? Why don't you save your "get a grip on reality" statement for serious issues.
I will never know another singer such as her!!

I think TOTP used to have a lot of lipsyncing going on, I remember someone telling me that they had to (or decided to) stop after a certain time.
The Sundays strike me as the sort of band that wouldn't bother with lip sync either way, it's not like you need to with someone like her singing. :D

SoilentGr33n 2 years ago
its 2 chords E and A
doubledown109 2 years ago
That I knew but it's not a regular E, and I don't think it's a regular A either.
Anyhow I pretty much figured it out by now and it sounds pretty much exactly like what he's playing so I'm cool :c)

Hopefully one day they'll come back. Music needs them.
