its nice to see all of you beeing concerned with womens hockey in general but in actual fact you're just wistling dixie.I was born in post war switzerland and I can attest first hand how humiliating it was to be told that we were a bunch of loosers in this and that sport and not to bother. In mens hockey for example nothing changed until private owners of semi professional teams made behind door deals with NHL Owners/scouts to send prospects overseas to learn the "trade".

it's more disrespectful to ease off and play like you would against your little cousin. the womens slovakian hockey program has aspirations to be olympic contenders, and they need to improve.when they get the honour of playing against a powerhouse like canada or the states they should be eager to see where and how much they need to improve. They are a good National hockey team, and deserve to be treated with the respect of honest, full out competition. Great Job Slovakia, heads high! Go Canada!

I am Canadian, and I dont really appreciate this win.. Like, it's one thing to win a hockey game, but once you are 5 goals ahead of the other team, just stop. Its the Olympics, its not about slaughtering other teams... Fuckin dissapointed in Canada.

absolutely not and you shouldn't feel ashamed you should feel pride that they were so good... the slovakia goalie made 40+ saves and played amazing. i watched the whole thing and it was a fun game to watch (from a Canadian perspective)

Team Canada is several levels ahead of us in term of woman hockey. For some that loss may seem ebarassing but considering that out players are all but two amateurs it is a huge success just to be there. How many teams did not even got to the olympics, yet our babes did. I do not see a reason why should they be ashamed of the resulty, no one expected anything less anyway.
