It's overrated haha. Best radio ive ever used is the EF Johnson 5100ES Model 2, it was with the Civil Air Patrol. And we have 25 of those in our squadron. They run around 5500 a piece :)
It COST over $3000!!!! is that people fucking creazy WTF do they think they are selling a used car with the radio???? it can be the best danm radio in the world but still just a fucking radio danmit... shame on them for thos prices i used to like motorola but now i dont know anymore...
@Guirado11 When it's tax dollars being used to buy these radios for government agencies, they can charge anything they want. The cost is not even a concern to these people.
I worked for a school district before and I needed radios, they said don't go over the budget. which was $1mil. for that year.
And the gov. has to spend it or else they have to give the money back and will shrink the budget if they don't spend it.
It's that cost for a reason. Tax dollars has to be spent.
@SLeePzZzZzZzZzZzZzZ And you won't. This is strictly a public-safety radio and it STARTS at $3000....you can pay up to $7,000 per radio depending upon how it's configured.
The APX 7000 multi-band radio places instant interoperability into the hands of mission-critical first responders. Motorola's 4th generation P25 Subscriber is capable of multi-band interoperability in one radio and can operate in any 2 of the following frequency bands: 700/800 MHz ,VHF, UHF Range 1, offers backward and forward compatibility (FDMA and TDMA), and integrated GPS for outdoor location tracking. Designed with mission-critical technology, the radio amplifies public safety official's
No UHF? Considering the majority of LE is UHF, Motorola has created another paperweight! Way to go Moto, why not re-release the bag phone again? Laying off another 4000... the brains of the operation are gone!
