  • He is one of my favorites from Slum Village to his newest

  • Comment removed

  • my favourite elzhi track

  • @AntonioRepiso

    Mine too

  • kendrick lamar , big krit,, and j cole arent even close..but i guess its just a matter of opinion lol

  • @thatdood12

lmao are you serious? Krit definately can tackle Elzhi. I show no biased dude, and as a musician over all, Krit completely flatlines El(Same for j.cole: Both make can make their own beats[destroy them] and their songs almost always have a better overall sound, especially beat wise) and lyrically Kendrick can handle Elzhi(Kendrick is alot more diverse than him.)

  • @0194D i mean yea as overall musicians they both dope as hell but i need some more from all three b4 i can start making comparisions

  • @thatdood12

By saying "I laughed hard(when I mentioned them)" is saying that you think that they do not stand up to Elzhi. Which is a comparison. Don't say that you need to hear more material now that someone has went into a little detail on why these people can be on level or better than elzhi.

Also you need to hear more?(Excuses much?)

    J.Cole - 3 mixtapes and an album.

Kendrick - 4 mixtapes, a ep and an album

Lupe Fiasco - 8 mixtapes and 4 albums

    Better listen up

  • lupe is a good argument.. but if you think that j cole and big krit are messin with elzhi your nuts...j coles best qualitys are his word play and puchlines while elzhi spit metaphors, storys and poetry, none of these guys are as meticulous and sceintific with the break down of their bars as elzhi so its impossible that there flow is better.. and i need to see more stuff like section 80 from kendrick lamar which was by far his best project

  • @thatdood12

I almost didn't dignify you with a response, but I feel as if you deserve to be educated on this.

J.cole spits metaphors and similes, he tell stories and is poetic. Big Krit is the same way.

Elzhi's best quality is his master of multis. And elzhi's flow is pretty much the same all the time, I swear this nigga never changes tempo unless he is making a soft ass song like flyest.

Kendrick Lamar's flow is far beyond Elzhi's. Ex: Rigamortis, Look out for Detox, Heaven and Hell...

  • @0194D also storytelling is usually a trait that is developed unless your a natural like slick rick or biggie and none of the guys with the exception of lupe even come close to elzhi in that department

  • @thatdood12

...Elzhi is usually telling a story about how tough Detroit is or something from his childhood. Elzhi's stories are far overrated.

Krit, Kendrick and J.Cole(and lupe) all top or been on par with Elzhi. I'll say J.cole is on par but everyone else is better.

Krit - American Rapstar, As Small as a Giant, The Vent, Somedayz, They got us

Kendrick - Tammy's Song, Vanity Slaves pt 2, The Heart pt 2, Barbed Wires

J.Cole - Lost ones, Home for the holidays, 2face, Premeditated murder

  • @thatdood12

And what does it matter if someone develops their story telling ability or they are a natural(COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT)?. The ability to tell a story is ALWAYS developed, it is just that people like Slick and Biggie developed it BEFORE they started recording music, they probably developed it in English class.

  • @0194D talkin in my sleep and concrete eyes...i guess it depends on if you like rappers/lyricists or poets/lyricists

  • @thatdood12

Both songs are in my favorites and I like both of those kinds that you named.

  • @0194D true..but yea i dont think elzhi has never been a rapper and thats what makes him so comparable to nas..a lot of people will say biggie is better than tupac lyrically..but tupac wasnt really a lyricist..he was a poet..so i guess its all opinion

  • @thatdood12

Its only opinion if you look at it from a large scope, if you look at it at a very level and detailed view and separate things into categories it becomes factual. Like who has better stories or more creative punchlines.

  • @thatdood12

What? A rapper is anyone who raps. Geez people need to quit acting like being a rapper is a negative. For the longest niggas been trying to say oh this person is a lyricist not a rapper, nigga please a rapper is a rapper shit.

  • @0194D hell no that shit is different son lol find out the difference b4 u start debating online

  • @thatdood12

Nigga shut the hell up. Everyone who makes music in

    hiphop is a rapper(or a dj).

Lyricist - a person who writes the words for a song, opera, or musical play

Rapper - a person who raps

So really anyone who writes their own music is a lyricist.

Oh how about you find out the meaning of a word b4 u start to use it. Lol, dumbass going to try and correct me but he don't even got his shit straight

Hiphop is comprised of 3 main things, Rap-Graffiti-Break Dance. Get it together.

  • @0194D your textbook definition is for simpleminded motherfuckers

  • @thatdood12

No, it is for people who like to not make up bullshit definitions. You have nothing factual to say after I proved you wrong so you just typed the first spew that fell from your clownhole. This is over.

  • same sample as "Banned From The Radio" by 9th Prince

  • elzhi is nasty and lyrical, no doubt, but wow black milk put the icing on the cake with this nasty ass beat!

  • @wheela25

    Part 2...

Canibus is good but w/o but look past his extensive vocabulary and you realize he is just saying the same shit over and over.

Immortal is simply just not that damn good. Gibbs is a lot more skilled than he is, especially when it comes to storytelling.

Cormega is okay, just not better than Gibbs.

Jedi is lyrical I just feel as if Gibbs is better.

Los, XV and Gibbs should be in your category with j.cole, kendrick and big krit(funny 6 out of 7 of my fav new schoolers)

  • Love that third verse

  • Elzhis sick, but listen to Can't Get Enough by Termanology

  • Comment removed

  • i want to get into this guy, can anyone recommend some material? Mixtapes or albums or individual track please, thanks!

  • @Triplen01 Some of my favorites are Motown 25, Fire, Colors, Love it here, Save Ya, It ain't hard to tell. He is also featured in Black Milk & Bishop Lamont's album- Go at it.(Sick verse), Chali 2na- When will i see you again, DJ KO- best to do it ft. Royce da 5' 9", Supastition and Elzhi. That should get you started. :)

  • @PSU221 Thanks man, im really feeling his shit, this guy is dope! consider me a new fan

  • @Triplen01 Check out his free album "Elmatic"...it pays homage to the famous Illmatic album by Nas, and does it plenty of justice. Just google "Elzhi - Elmatic" and you'll be able to find it.

  • Black Milk n Elzhi shud do anuva album.. Best 2 in the game FUK jay z n kanye

  • @King4250 fuck jay-z? fuck you, you the one clowning man

  • this is the most amazing song i ever heard

  • <-<-<------------

  • actually its: "ah-ay-ah", "ile/ow-oh", and "uts-ih-illin"

hugely crafted and masterfully executed, i can't think of a rapper to match this.

  • @Laurie12SlimShady there is only one rapper that can beat elzhis lyrical style.....and thats the famous rapper named 50 Tyson

  • @SuperRob64x Come on now....We know elzhi is good lyricist buy you act like he has no competition around him.....Nas? Lupe? Blu? Budden? AZ? Raekwon? Black Thought? etc....people act like he god

  • @Soo35cool lol bro its a joke, of course elzhi is very talented. Raekwon is pretty sick though, and AZ is pretty cool.

  • @Soo35cool

Yeah they dude act like he is Jesus or something. Elzhi is overrated by his fans. Don't get me wrong, dude is really good but his main fans act like he is the top lyricist. There are rappers who are a lot more diverse than him.

  • @0194D idk man if anything elzhi is underrated maybe overrated by his fans but underrated overall..there arent too many emcees that can match him bar for bar

  • @thatdood12

Elzhi is no where close to being underrated. He is overlooked. Underrated means that he isn't giving credit/respect for what he does. Almost everyone admits that elzhi is good, even non fans. He is overlooked b/c not everyone pays him attention. I swear some "old heads" of hiphop got the definition of these words mixed up so bad that they got others messed up with the meaning.

  • @0194D im sayin tho how many people would have elzhi in their top 15 or even top 10..to me hes a top 15 guy without question and borderline top 10..the fact that he is overlooked means that he doesnt get the respect and credit for what he does, and the reason for that is because hes mainly an underground artist ..name 15 emcees that are fuckin with elzhi..its really hard to do

  • @thatdood12

Being overlooked is simply people not being interested in your music(regardless if they like it or not). I overlooked the rapper who is now my favorite rapper, I heard a song by him and was like "Nice but not good enough for me to download his shit".

    15 emcees "fuckin with elzhi"

Big Krit, Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000, Big Boi, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Jay Electronica, Nas, Blu, Raekwon, Ghostface, Freddie Gibbs, Lupe Fiasco, Ab-Soul, J.Cole.

    hmm wasnt hard at all

  • @0194D when i saw lupe fiasco, kendrick and j cole i laughed hard just saying

  • @MisterJimbo101

Fail....Lupe can definately go up against elzhi(definately not in a real freestyle battle but in a comparison of lyrics) Lupe is a master of double metaphors and story telling. Kendrick is just as diverse as El but he doesn't always do one thing alot like how el always does multis. And J.cole is far better than you probably think, actually j.cole and elzhi style is a lot alike(just that cole makes beats = bonus points). But elzhi and cole def can go tit(lol) for tat.

  • @SuperRob64x Yeah We all know he looks up to Nas....and wouldnt dare say he better than him...he made a entire album after illmatic....cant be serious

  • Watch the Throne = 10$

    Europass = free download

Watch the Throne = 1 good song

    Europass = 13 great songs

I'm glad I found Elzhi! Getting more and morre disappointed by "commercial" rap nowadays...

  • some realll hip hop fuck mainstream

  • elzhi is hella underrated

  • @TheMelManNYKfan Of course ive heard of them dog who the fuck hasn't but you honestly can say that nas or az (cornega) is nice but i don't think you overstand why i say that about Elzhi you don't understand the bar for bar the metaphor inside of metaphors wrapped around an anomaly covered in an enigma submerged in a riddle. That's the type of shit El does dog you NY niggas don't get it yall think everybody on that coast is the greatest

  • This song is too dope.

  • yo this track goes so hard it inspired me & my crew to spit some pretty crazy bars on this beat. yo peep my channel if u like good hiphop & stuff on the same tip as this here joint!

  • ridiculous! love it

  • This nigga El has 2 be the the most lyrical nigga I've heard with soul

  • @dozierdagreat then u never heard nas or az or cormega lol check em out

  • This guy is the greatest rapper alive, lyrically nobody can touch him.

  • @hallsterr and royce da 5'9 are tied, they both go well together too...this guy is lyrical, royce has crazy metaphors and punchlines, creating great songs!

  • this is the shit right here

I rocked this once and I will do twice

  • 4 people are fuckin stupid!!!

  • D. O. P. E.

  • R.A.P = Rhythm and Poetry... and this gets the Stamp of approval!

  • I just poured some fiery soul on an Elzhi song and posted it up

  • wow... that's all i can say

  • Wow... What an instrumental... And dope lyrics and flow of course

  • Wow. Just love how Elzhi started out with a Bahamadia reference. Nyce.

  • @0194D man this song is ill shit, elzhi's one of the best to ever do it, but get the hell out of here man, the point of listening to hip hop is to bump to real shit, not to pat yourself on the back because you think you're more enlightened then other people

  • Thats what you get for hatin on my versatile flow

  • I like

  • rape that fuckin replay button!!!

  • 1st Verse- Rhyme Scheme with word "lie".

2nd Verse- Rhyme Scheme with word "so".

3rd Verse- Rhyme scheme with word "dillin".

Not many rappers can do this (especially in mainstream). Along with Black Milk's craze production, this song is above a MASTERPIECE.

  • @PSU221 so true man, this dude is fire. slept on something crucial :/

  • @PSU221 The ryhme scheme is 'Why'd they lie' it's three syllables not one. It's far more complex than that.

  • @PSU221 um yeah not really. its not all that hard actually. he is super good, but this isnt as hard as u think

  • This sample is killing my brain cells, and so is the vocal, inspiring ;D

  • I just read back on the talk about KRS talking, and Jay-Z and Em, so on.. ofc jay-z and em cant talk shit, they still in the game, that would hurt them. still IMO they should speak up. but!

    - to the point, I was checking out j cole again the other day hadnt done that for like a year - dunno why. but I saw this video "Nas talking about Drake and J cole" and I couldnt even click the link cause I was scared to hear nas talk about drake like he's good. atleast in the same video as j cole

  • ive been flyin through this dudes songs for past few days.

and i swear EVERY single one has dozens n dozens of comments about how underrated he is.

so im gonna join in, this guy should be HUGE, amazing rhymes!

  • this is one of the greatest songs ive ever heard, period. no disrespect to biggie or pac or the same top 5 doa artists everyone always mentions but im on that shit where the artist is still alive making good ass music im tired of hearing the same fuckin argument put artists like this motha fucka in that list shiiiiit...and to the 3 dislikes...IM COMING FOR YOU, I WILL FIND YOU AND DESTROY YOU...that is all

  • versachild flow, fucks with it "the real american gangster"

  • THAT WHOLE TOP 10 B.E.T IS BS, NO PLANET ASIA, NO ELZHI, NO UNDERGROUND HIP HOP, FUCK B.E.T SOUL THEIR HIP HOP SOULS FOR THE CASH, I'M NEVER SUPPORTING THAT WACK ASS YOUNG MONEY BS OR THAT WACK ASS GUCCI MANE BS FUCK THAT WACK ASS HIP HOP SOUND THIS STRAIGHT UP UNDERGROUND HIP HOP ALL DAY

  • funny story. i'm 25 and in da navy, da other day i was taalkin to this 19 yr old dude fresh outta bootcamp, and da dude had da nerve to tell me lil way, da whole young money crew is iller then NaS, AZ, Elzhi, little brother, mos def, and talib kweli. should i punch him in his face or what, please y'all lemme know

  • @islandslumz you should pretend like he tried to shoot you then ask for permission to tie him up and use him as target practise

  • @islandslumz Good Call

  • this instrumental has me buggin

  • ha ha ma boi ant-dilla put me on, i'm a big fan of da late j dilla, mf doom, slum village, little brother, blu, ma dude nicolay, the foreign exchange, but till a month or so i neva listen to any solo ish by elzhi, and the dude is ill, real hip hop right here

  • im 13 & im the only one it seems that doesn't jam nicki minaj, lil wayne, waka flocka flame etc.... mainstream music is catchy but there's no meaning behind it... I respect all these underground MC's 100%

  • @SatoriFlame that's rare for someone as young as you are. props dude.

  • TURN YO SPEAKERS UP TO THIS ONE

NOD YOU HEAD UNTIL YO NECK BREAKS!!!

  • juss put onto eLZhi unforntuately.... but glad i found him.... dam dis dude spits fire..... Black Milk is so nice behind the boards!! every beat he puts out is FIRE!!!!!

  • unbelievable

  • And on a Elzhi video, why are 90% of the comments talking about Lil Wayne? Can we use this space to admire the skillz of Elzhi and give him some props. Or alternatively, register that this is yet another dope beat by Black Milk.

  • Are people honestly arguing that Lil Wayne is a good rapper? Jesus

  • I haven't listened to radio in almost 12 yrs cuz that's when I started to notice how bad things were getting. Just today I tried to watch MTVRAPS for the first time in years. "All white everything" are u f'n kidding me? "Lemonade" by Guccia Mane?? wtf is happening? I was so heated. I had to go in my room and bump some Little Brother and Pharoah just to wash that s**t off...

Seems to me like mainstream rap is hiphop devolved. It's like the music is produced for kids.

  • joojoobomb & 01942 yaw guys very rite and there needs to be more people like you to let everyone know real rap...i juz give yall props

  • who produced that beat, and what album is this song on? i need to cop it

  • Black Milk is easily in the top 10 producers alive.

  • I love this song!!

  • anyone got the lyrics

  • straight fire.....there is no need for debate

  • I Just fell in love wit this damn song DOPE SHIT

  • good/real hiphop aint dead

you just got to look better...

  • my heart beats to this song.

  • TUUUUNNNEEE!!!!!!!!!!! that piano roll is epic :o

  • Black Milk got his own siganature sound.

  • I can't find the lyrics on the web, could anyone post them by replying to me? Thanks.

  • the dude elz hella cold yall trippin if u think he not killin this shit

  • Ill, that's what I call good ol' rap.

  • this is just dope!

  • this joint is smashing the whole hip hop industry

  • lil wayne is denied any and all praise by "true" hip hop heads based on the undue praise he receives from those "commercial rap fans."

he certainly isn't as good as many make him out ot be, i personally don't listen to him, but to deny him of any skills at all is just asinine.

    decent rapper? sure.

    above average? hardly.

one of the greatest of all time? fucking laughable.

his voice makes me throw up a little. but he does have his moments. i think we can all admit this.

  • I am becoming a hip hop head, i guess but I like lil wayne at times, his media shit is bad(lyrically), the only reason ppl listen to it is b/c he gets on good beats and his flow is unique, but I give dude his credit, he is average and has a really good flow sometimes but there are times when he gets lyrically, like on scarface or no quitter go getter. He is average, plain average as a rapper to me.

  • I have two(2) little wayne songs on my ipod. The other 1,998 songs are true hip hop like this, and a very few alternative.

  • "The other 1,998 songs are true hip hop like this, and a very few alternative."

Nah, most of his songs are too, materialistic, and sex obsessed for him to be true hiphop to me. Even as battle rapper he is that good. He has some songs that are true hiophop, but not as many as you said, probably like max 15.

I like dude, but he gets too little and too much credit at the same time.

  • Yo, are you saying Elzhi isn't what is generally referred to as real hip hop?

And honestly, subject matter and choice of topics doesn't define whether or not you 'real hiphop'. For example J DIlla, whom you'd have a damn near impossible time trying to prove that he's not 'real hip hop' and to be honest he talks shit on a LOT of his songs. Also Sean Price/Heltah Skeltah are shit talkers, but guess what as real as it gets.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah you are still missing out.

And the term 'real hip hop' is subjective. Saying 'real hip hop' is kind of the same essentialist view that has resulted in all the hating and screwfacing that happens in hip hop, kid!

but my question was were saying that elzhi wasn't real hip hop?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Aiiight. Elzhi is straight grime. Probably one of the best rappers alive. My point is hip hop has become too polarized with too much hating. And as much as I don't like lil wayne, and I think he is retarded and not a particularly good rapper, he is doing his own things.

Your last two points are much more coherent than your first two. I still stand by what I said about the "I'm becoming a hip hop head" comment. I just 'real hip hop' is as vague term which is little essentialist by nature.

  • So you are the official on slang as well? Once again, your closemindedness is apparent.

A hiphop head, is someone who respects real music, regardless of whether it is mainstream or underground. You seem biased from the get go.

Elzhi is grimey as fuck. Get out of here with correcting people on slang and shit. Message conveyed.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes.

I don't care much for what people think a hip hop head is, I just bang out big chunes one way or another.

    Dattebayo.

  • @FreeJibril

    Yeah......why did you put dattebayo?

Also when I asked you about atmosphere and brother ali, I kind of wanted your opinion on them.

  • I don't really like them. They kind of bore me, a little corny sometimes. Although atmosphere has the occasional song I'm into.

I'm more into the whole stones throw click.

  • @FreeJibril

I don't like them either, I personally feel that atmosphere is really overrated they have good lyrics along w/ ali but I just don't like any of them they don't sound like they should be rapping but at least they have messages or stories in most of their songs, but I just can't listen to them, the reason I asked is b/c so many underground hiphop fans like them I just wanted another person's opinion.

  • agreed..........scapegoat is a great song tho.

  • @FreeJibril .. stonesthrow is where its at , ... yess

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • just like me

  • @0194D yo man... that guy you are talking about should not even be mentioned on this page... Elzhi dominates him.. enough said.

  • "I am becoming a hip hop head".

Yo, you sound extremely pretentious. I think all my hip hop heads out there would understand.

  • @joojoobomb

lil wayne was good @ the carter 3 and i was a huge fan of him

    but after dat album =S

i dunno man, if these ppl got their money they dont care anymore.. =/

but i still listen 2 him sometimes and he really often he brings somethin listenable out but thats it lately xD

    black milk <3

    4 life

  • @joojoobomb you know that the "hip hop mc's" these days traded there lyricism for the glamour an glitts...PLASTIC RAPPERS

lil wayne sounds like a whiney lil shit cunt & spoils any song any beat

  • @IiCRUVERSiI I hate his voice :-s

  • @joojoobomb <3 totally agree

  • @joojoobomb

I agree witchu on this one. When peeps say Wayne is trash, that is so black and white, left and right. He's definitely not trash, the guy is a good rapper. Best rapper alive? Hell to the NO!

  • @joojoobomb true...true.....elzhi will eat em dough....

  • @joojoobomb well if you dont think lil wayne is good, then how come fuck heads like you always bring him up ?

  • @TheLukieBoi1 did you even read my comment? how about some reading comprehension skills, douchewagon?

    try again.

  • hello blue, bye grey skies

  • fact is, lil wayne maybe worse or not but he got lucky to get this far, a lot of undergrounds will do it to if they get the chance to do it

  • don't know why you're being downvoted.

  • The reason why hiphop heads talk so much shit about him is b/c they have friends that say "wayne is the best" but they don't know much about hiphop. It pisses me off too, b/c my friends are like that, they sit there and say "Man lil wayne kills lupe fiasco" and I try to explain but they are too ignorant to understand.

  • then ther not hiphop head there rap heads fake phony u need new friends..... a MC can be a rapper , but a rapper can never be an MC....chitown westside

  • @0194D yo man i feel you on that i get the same shit to it piss me the fuck off

  • @0194D lol exactly ppl say it here and everyone agrees with them if u say lil wayne sucks to others ppl look at u like u have two heads

  • @0194D I argue the LupevsWayne at school almost everyday bro lol

  • @definatelydebonaird

I try to tell people Lupe is on a higher level than wayne. This one dude tried to diss lupe and say he was whack, I let that nigga hear 3 tracks from enemy of the state and he is automatically ridin lupe and say he was as good as wayne, of course he won't admit that lupe was better, you kno how wayne fans are, but he at least admitted that lupe was good.

  • @0194D My cousin and i were just having the same discussion. I told him that are expectations this way based upon the era we grew up in. Theirs aren't so he would be the bomb to them.

  • @reggiemunch

    lol

  • lol seriousely wayne is sh*t

  • sure lil wayne is a decent rhymer. DECENT. that's it! he is overrated as fuck. carter 3 was so hyped up it was like it was "led zeppelin 4" or some shit. i listened to that whole album and there was 2 good songs off the whole thing.

    1.Don't Get It

    2.Tie My Hands

two songs does not make a classic. he literally has a total of 4 good songs.

    3.Georgia Bush

4.Forever(not the famous one but a short 2 minute song)

  • @aznativethug LOL listen to the following songs: Sportscenter Tha Mobb Fly In/Fly Out BM Jr Shooter Receipt I Miss My Dawgs Something You Forgot Hustler Musik No Quitter Go Getter My Generation Sky Is The Limit
  • @mrcheereo

i do get sick of seeing comments like

"elzhi is hiphop not like that fagg lil wayne"

man people need to stop hatikn other rappers and just enjoy the music.

and i dont like even lil wayne hes a sell out. but the hate comments get old

  • most mainstream rapper cant even decide about what to talk. either they get it done by a kind of manager or by mainstream conditioning. when the cash comes people act unfree. its not about expression anymore but to reach. and if you would know who controls the mainstream music scene from every angle, there would be no question left why only shit reaches the mainstream.
