3 years ago i made a comment how this song made my day. Now i am still here and it still leaves me speechless every time i listen to it. Thank you Fred.
Mr. Yonnet, That was awesome. I got to play in yellow springs with Roth and Guy Davis a few years ago. I had a great time, But when I look at your playing I am reminded of my beginner status after 17 years of playing. Which one of the seydel 1847's do you use the silver or one of the others? Little John
I use the Suzuki Bluesmaster. I don't have to blow or draw as hard and it's much louder than my Hohners.I gotta try this Seydel. I'm new to harmonica playing. In fact, I can't even read musical notes so I'm a musical newbie.
I was at this show in Yellow Springs, OH, working for the local radio station. Fred was fantastic! Dave was himself. I fell in love with Fred that night (his wife is great too) and fell in love with Dave all over again!
Howard Levy the evanston express, is worth watching on youtube, he is considered the inventor of overblows in the 1970"s, this guy is very good, but Howard is the daddy as he was the original & is most advanced diatonic harmonica player in the world!
the only other time i have ever seen a (live) harmonica performance is the many who concerts ive been to... roger daltry (please excuse the spelling) made me like harmonica and want to play but i have to admit he didnt have nearly the soul and passion while he played as this man
Well... they sound ok, but they don't last me more than a couple of songs. Plus I can't over blow then as easily. Now I only play the 1847 by Seydel. The volume is 30% louder through the mic at the same mic level... they are SUPER strong and quite easy to play.
Hi again Im still in hudge impress of your little wing .. right now im in NY .. can you reccomend for me some music store where can I buy the seydel harmonicas , where can I find some music backraund to practise .. please .. harmonica is in my heart .. Tomek

I find this terribly mediocre. I love the harmonica and am terribly disappointed by Frederic Yonnet's playing. It sounds so amateurish. Before bashing my comment, please look up Toots Thielemans and Gregoire Maret.
That part where he just explodes and Chappelle gets off the stool just blew me away. It sends a wave of chills down my spine. It almost makes you tear up. Its beautiful.
Musicianship is great. I appreciate enthusiasm, however, I wish I would have looked away while he was playing.I think he exaggerates his gestures a little too much. I'm not joking, he really looked like he was having a long, drawn-out severe seizure.
dude Frederic is fucking awesome! He's such a chill guy too, I was hanging out with him in DC, VERY NICE! Check out his CD "Front & Center," I'm not even into harmonica and I have it blasting every time I play it.
What, you couldn't set your harmonica on fire after your performance or something? haha As someone who absolutely loves Jimi Hendrix, I have to say that this is FANTASTIC. Thanks for sharing this brilliant performance. Pure brilliance that Jimi would be proud of.
free bird and little wing 2 me r the greatest songs that ive ever heard, and i gotta be honest, i shead a tear from listening 2 this song great job Fredric Yonnet

Holy shit that was amazing. To me, one of the most important things in performed music is the feeling an artist put into their playing. Someone can be the most technically proficient player in the world and could learn something like little wing not for note but without real heart put into it it is empty. This guy pours his sould through his harmonica and it shows. Damn. PS: I'm high as fuck right now and that might have helped it

"Positions" are confusing to me. I was playing in G on a C harp. It's the 8th key out of 12 on a harp.

disappointed? who the fuck do you think u are? God?
zvegasz 3 years ago
he's good but he totally exaggerates the handeffects plus takes advantage of the fact that not many of his audience are into harmonica music.
nevertheless you got to keep in mind he plays a diatonic harp not a chromatic one like toots does for instance...whole different story.
Cheers
