  • I just had this done too. What's tbd after care like?

  • just hadit done :(

  • The F'**** numbing part is the worst

  • i've had it done 4 times, doesn't even hurt anymore! :( & i need it done again!!

  • I got mine done today and wow I was scared. outta my mind.. after thè shots everything. went well

  • thumbs up if your toe surgery hurt like fucken hell

  • I just had this done yesterday. The injection was the worst part ever.

  • i just got my whole nail removed by doc . iwanna know dat how much time will it take a regrow agin fully.

nd will my toe be as beautifull as before :P

  • @usmanrandhawa91 as far as im aware, when they remove the toe they put an acid on the toe bed to prevent the nail from regrowing. the toe will heal and never have a nail again

  • is he asleep ??

  • I just had mine done today and if you have a good doctor the shots should not hurt that much. Make sure that he/she gives you cold spray and does not inject at the tip of your toe

  • Im getting this done on both toes tmw.. Im so nervous about it.. Hows the pain after and during? Like what did you feel during the procedure?

  • @basilbunnyboo there isnt really anything to worry about i got both of my toes done. it dosent hurt at all after they numb you. And then they give you a shot to make you numb for about six more hours after you leave. but for the rest of the day you have to keep your foot elevated so it dosent bleed too much.

  • @maurins2 Jesus Christ, it's just an ingrown toenail. It's not like you're coming out of the closet or anything.

  • Who was the doctor and where is he located?

  • @joncoy I'm not giving out that information.

  • Comment removed

  • @moseleych oh ok. when I had mine done they give me cortisone so i figured that what they prolly give u.

  • I had this surgery done today, it was my second time. I think what they give u is cortizone, thats what they give me, it works faster than novacaine. and theys tuck me in 3 places

  • @TrueCountryFan16 it's not cortizone, cortizone doesn't have nerve blocking properties. Looking back, it was probably lidocaine.

  • @moseleych i did this procedure myself at home

  • thumbs up if ur getting toe surgery soon :(

  • @Trainwreck1415 tomorrow morning :(

  • @Trainwreck1415 im getting it today

  • @songas333 That sucks a Phat dickins, its gonna be painful.

  • @Trainwreck1415 i got it and i didnt feel anything but the second needle was HELL!!!!

  • does it hurt when he sticks a needle in ur toe deep in?

  • @wanna209BEAST think about what you just asked.

  • @moseleych yes. i just watched ur other vid so i know.

  • @wanna209BEAST to avoid further confusion... needle hurt like hell. actual procedure was painless (area was numbed)

  • @wanna209BEAST have the same question :)

  • THIS IS FUCKIN CRAZY IM GETING PUT TA SLEEP I CANTT WATCH IT WHEN IT HAPPENS TO ME! IF I DONT GET PUT TO SLEEP ILL KILL MYSELF!

  • I had 8 shots in my toe.And now its come back ingrown :(

  • the needle doesnt really hurt its the cold spray lol feels like a bee sting thats cold haha i had both of my big toes down.. it wasnt that bad either

  • does the operation hurt i am 13 plz tell me

  • @harryd456 i am 13 and i had it done twice, and yes, worst pain i ever experienced. if u think the shots are bad, wait till starts cutting away .oowwwwww

  • Literally just had this done! Needle was the worst bit but it wasn't as bad as I expected, mine was infected and she stuck the needle into the infected tissue which was a bitch /:

  • omg this farkin hurts had it done a couple of times, ingrown toenails suck, i feel ur pain dude

  • there should be minimal discomfort (the slightest pinching prick) when the injection is administered, and not at all be done in the way the doctor/podiatrist here is doing it . there should be NO pain during the procedure.

  • @TheDawgstarr yea.... trust me. I'm a doctor.....

  • i,m not a surgeon, but think is better take out the whole toe nail

  • thats awsome

  • the shots are terrible , i got 4 shots for my 2 big toes

  • i got the same thing on both my big toes....the shots r soo bad!!!!! i like screamed like bloody murder

  • lol the only thing that hurt for me was the needle and its a small price to pay for having your walking ability back XD

  • my dads a podiatrist the shot is the worst

  • God damn i had two ingrown toes nail done,,its wasnt that harmfull but i had to do it..it stank but i could walk again..its better when its out..

  • I had two ingrown big toes at once, the only bad part of the surgery is the shots. After that you won't feel a thing

  • alright im 13 and i got an ingrone toenail from clipping it on the side to short i have to get this done and im realllllyyy scared and i want u guys to tell me the truth whats the worst part and can i feel any of that scraping and digging cuz thats what im scared of please help!!!

  • done this twice gonna do it a third time soon :P

  • @misterhoobomaster ya im getting my third one done soon. its getting really bad i have mrsa in it.

  • I had it done on one of my toes twice because the nail grew back and got ingrown again. The needle was the worst part, but for me i hate any injection/shot. I have to go back today to get my other toe taken care of. The worst part is the needle, maybe for those of you that the cold spray doesn't work on, bring in your iPod or whatever you use to listen to music and listen to that when they are doing everything. when they inject you just blast the music and try not to think about it.

  • common misconception that cold spray actually helps. its a superficial spray, it does not actually go inside a muscle or a nerve. mostly its a placebo, it helps you to 'think' it hurts less and shit, provides slight relief on your skin. but when he is diggin around with that needle that wont help. and he is lookin for sum nerves to pinch so that foot goes numb which means extra pain. in addition, everybodys pain tolerance is diff. for sum it hurts with or without spray, others dont even need it.

  • Damn brings back memories, I had both of my big toes done, ihurts like a fuckin bitch, hurts really bad,

  • guys please! how much do they charge for one?'cause i'm dieing with a freaking ingrown nail!!!!!!!

  • the injection hurts like motherfucker, dats da worst part :(

  • ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO USE COLD SPRAY!!!!!!

  • @ahmetbyrm ...he did.

  • @moseleych so did my doctor and i didnt even feel the needle

  • @moseleych btw he had to spray while he was injecting

  • @moseleych I had one of these done a couple of months ago

  • Does the injection hurt? thats the part im worried about :/

  • @princessemz12 yes. Please read the description.

  • @princessemz12 It hurts for a little while like acouple of minuets after they do it but after tthat its completly munb, its bad ass lol

  • @XterNaLHaX1 my doctor used cold spray. i didnt feel anything the needle didnt hurt at all.

  • @princessemz12 ask ur doctor to use cold spray. if they use cold spray u dont feel anything.

  • @princessemz12 no it doesnt

  • i just had dis done today...and im 13 too

  • @lilbeastpowell i just got my nail done today the only part that hurts are the shots everything else if fine...

  • i just had dis done today...

  • im 13, and i got it done excactly like that.

  • im 13 and getting it done in a few weeks can u tell me how much the injection hurts i hate needels but i need this done because it has got to the point were i cant walk on it and iwant to play rugby again

  • I'm getting mine done this weekend, im only worried about the shot :P

  • had the same thing done to me yesterday. Those needles are sooo godamn painful man! Today my toe feels all weird, like as if my nerves are messed up or something cause they hurt. It doesnt really hurt when they start cutting cause you cant feel it much. The doc said i should be ok by tuesday :)

  • I'm due to have mine done in 2weeks. They said they are taking both sides of nail off and leaving me with a wedge in the middle. Was it worth having it done. Did it hurt a lot, injection/after the operation?

  • @Gaz5100 i got it done yesterday,it hurt a little but all i did was bite on a rag or some thing and listened to my music and concentrated on that after that you feel nothing just numb for a while they "operate" and a few minutes later its done

  • that shot is the worst part of the whole procedure!!

  • I have to do this tomorrow! Shit! Big needle in my toe lol. I was told it gets frozen numb first though??

  • @victoriap91 They use a tiny needle. Like, 30 gauge. It's itty bitty. Having it frozen first really doesn't help, because the needle will go deeper than the freezing will. Just suck it up and scream like a banshee.

  • that needle at the start looks so painfull, if that guy isnt carefull it looks like it could go right through, ouch!!

  • eww i was like 5 or 6 when i got mine done they didnt go through all the jabbing and stuff i just got a spray of numbness on my toe

  • Yea, I went to the doctors today, I thought my toe was just bruised or infected. It was both infected and an in grown nail, he said they'd remove it right there by cutting it out. My heart skipped a beat, they said it wouldn't hurt much so I was like eh, what the hell lets get it over with. *1 minute later* FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!! I really should have had a cloth to bite on, that shot was the worst shot I've ever gotten for anything. Then seeing what they did, I almost threw up.

  • @biggestROHfan6391 dude me too they froze my toe. it stings like hell

  • @granjenal15 hell yea thoes fucking shots hurt like hell. thats like the worst part of the procedure

  • @granjenal15 what my doctor used cold spray but she didnt spray that much and i didnt feel anything (i only felt a slight sting when she was separating my nail from the skin didnt hurt much). u guys should find a doctor who has better skills

  • @ahmetbyrm yeah but I felt it. it was a sting but a long one

  • they did my injection lower than yours i got surgery on both of my toes and the 2nd time it killed he my doc didnt cut doewn my toe he cut my whole cutical skin thing of and got the yukky stuff out and yeh ppl it didnt hurt 1st time 4 me 2nd time it did my doc put a cotton gauze down my cutical then the next morning i had to soak it in hot salty bath and rip the gauze out and it pissed out with blod .

  • i have had this done 4 times going on 5 and im only 14.i have had mine for a LONG time cuz im deathly afraid to go bak cuz the god damn 6 numbing shots hurt like a bitch.:( but my toe hurts like hell anyway.i decided if i cant get it out i gotta tell my mom and jst get it done and over wit :(

  • they did this to my nail and i almost past out

  • do you have to go into surgery for them, im 12 and i have on and i am deathly affraid of surgery

  • @crazyhatgurl I was about 12 when I started getting ingrown nails, I was running in circles around the house in fear when they even mentioned surgery. (Even though, my ingrown nail caused me to suddenly bleed.) I was forced to have my first one cold turkey (no pain meds or anything). If you have ingrown nails, get them removed while it's still a professional option. Your choices drop to 1 as soon as the skin breaks.

  • Im getting FOUR removed by surgery tomorrow. Two in each big toe.

Fuck, how many numbing shots will i be getting? T ~ T

  • does the injection hurt?

  • when i was in high school i had to get this done 6 times, i know how painfull this can be. I feel your pain man, thankfully my toenails stop groiing sideways lol

  • I've had this done 3 times, if the injections are painful, just ask if the nurse or doctor to slow down. The pain is never really that bad unless they rush. Trust me, the worst part of the whole thing is having ingrown nails in the first place. ;)

  • In the UK they numb the injection point first with numbing gel -- I hope :( When I had 6 teeth out they used numbing gel so I didn't feel the injections.

  • i have to say this was the worst part out of all the surgery, all you feel is a few little stabs then the rest is some pulling/tugging then your done!

  • i had the same thing done today and let me say... the two needles hurt BAD. afterwads it feels really funny and i cuden't stop laughing! :L they only cut a bit of my nail not all of it. When the numbing weared off it hurt so badly!!

  • gahh.. how badly does it hurt when they numb you?? coz im curious

  • Comment removed

  • Do they take your nail off afterwards?

  • I stubbed my nail and it is hanging off by one side, it hurts like crap and my mom says if it still hurts by Tuesday we will have to go to the doctor and get it removed. If anyone has any advise on toenail removal, please tell me.

  • I got it done yesterday! the numbing was the worse part, not that bad though!

  • this remembers me of my own ingrown toenails!

  • Does it hurt when they are numbing it? I want the truth.... I hate needles and I'm scared to death of them..... I just want to know is it painful!

  • @Babayhayz10 yes, but it goes away once the toe is numb

  • @moseleych Crap!! I really dont want to have this done then!

  • @Babayhayz10 Just get it done. It's worth it.

  • @moseleych it hurts a bit... but not as much as u think its gonna hurt. its like a small sharp pain for about 15sec..

  • @moseleych more or less

I got it done. seven times. on BOTH feet EACH. WTF?! well now, its over... i hope

  • @moseleych hey man, i had sort of the same sugery as you had, my nail had to get fully removed today, cause the pus got under the nail, well my question is, do you think that it was worth all the pain, after its fully healed

  • @Zyyler55 they didn't remove my entire nail so I can't really answer that, but I think it was worth it.

  • @moseleych Do they numb it first? How long does this usually take? I think I might have gotten my first Ingrown Toenail. My toe has been hurting for the past couple of days.

  • @Zyyler55 Hell no i had mine removed and it really didnt hurt but im scared of needles anyway it just grew back the same way so i just had them removed again and this time ive been home for like 3 days and the spot wherre he injected me burns like hell.....

  • @Babayhayz10 or u could just pick at it with tweezers... it wors and its a shitload less painfull... its what i did

  • @Babayhayz10 I get mine done all the time and im 13 itsokay.. IIT FUCKEN HURTS THO! x

  • @Babayhayz10 Get it done. it's only painful for a minute or two. The shots hurt like hell and it feels like your toe is the size of your head, but after that you don't feel a thing.

  • @Babayhayz10 No, it is not painful, i promise you. My doctor just rubbed this stuff on there, and he told me it would make me not feel the needle, and i didn't. All you will feel is a little burning sensation, and thats all! Then you become completely numb after some more novacaine and its done in 10 minutes!

  • i know how that feel is suck i was crying like a baby =/

  • Now I'm really scared to go and get mine removed D: i hate needles

  • Dang! That HAD to have hurt. I thought the dentist was bad.

  • omg....tell me about it...the friggin novacaine shot in that toe was painful as hell..omg..and its not like its a pinch in the toe, its in there deep for like a minute or more..it sux...blahhh....def unpleasant ..i was screaming for that long..then once it dumbs up, its pain free, u dont feel a thing during the toenail removal, no matter how gross and painful it looks...and i didn't even take any pain meds after the procedure was done..it actually felt soo much better now that it was taken out

  • Having an ingrown toe-nail removed is a great relief...

The injection for the numbing is a little painful but it is way worth it... I think I would be screaming in agonizing pain if I had it removed without the numbing.

  • I had my whole nail takin off 2 days ago. I watched these videos before hand as well and was freaking myself out. I actually didn't go for a long time thinkin all kinds of crap but the shot wasn't near as bad as everyone is saying it is, it just feels weird with the injection going into the toe. after thats done just sit back and don't watch it. it'll be over before you know it. Its really not that bad and you will be happy that you finally did it and got it over with.

  • @retbutler24 woot ty so much for posting this, i'm getting surgery for this in 2 days and i was scared of the shot because every1 saying it hurts like hell. i feel better now :) oh and btw do you recommend going to a theme park with roller coasters and lots of other ppl 7 days after surgery for ingrown toenail? i'm going to one 7 days after my surgery and i don't want to miss it :(

  • @1337PW Oh yeah, you shouldn't have a problem at all. You might be able to pull off wearing shoes by then. It doesn't really hurt to walk with shoes but it feels really weird. I had mine wrapped for the first day and a half then went to a nice size bandaid for about 4 days. Its been a couple of weeks from my surgery but its drying up and i could have worn shoes a week ago but i like flip flops so yeah. You should be aight.

  • @retbutler24 alright ty :) i hate flip flops real bad no way i was going to wear them lol i'm going to wear my shoes :D

  • does it hurt when they numb it.. i have one and im only 11 too..

  • hi, im 13 yers old and i have an ingrown toenail and i have cut it before and gotten ride of it but it came back and it hurts. should i get surgery?

  • its weird cuz everyone is saying ti dsoent hurt but im so scared to get it done I have yet to go to the doctor because Im so scared it hurts so bad and i want to gone but this is just to much for me.

  • Lidocaine. Novacaine is what dentists use.

  • I will be honest. When I had this surgery done years ago, the shots hurt like hell. It felt like I had about 14 shots in each foot.I had my ingrowns removed permanently. The shots were painful, but the surgery was definitely well worth it as I have not since then had any more ingrown toenails.

  • how much did it cost?

  • also, do you have to wear crutches or wrap your foot with a cast or do you just go home with a sock on and its fine the next day?

  • hi, i went to the doctor yesterday to show him my right big toe ingrown nail, and he said ill have to get surgery on it. i am so worried because i am only eleven years old and im getting a shot in my toe. any advice? btw, im getting it in two weeks, so do you have any good advice i can use during the procedure?

  • @nonormaltwins my advice is to not film or watch it.

and you'll get a huge bandage around your toe and it'll probably be fine the next day.

  • @nonormaltwins you can lie back thats what i did then when the surgery was happening i was like what the monkeys it doesnt hurt coz it is numb so dont worry mate it doesnt hurt 1 bit except from wee nips from the needle to numb your toe i had it on my right foot big toe didt hurt 1 bit felt weird when i was walking though coz of the bandage lol and the toe was still numb buh nuthing to worry about mate

  • @tehpestworld thanks mate!

  • @nonormaltwins

I got this done last week, I'm only fourteen, and I am extremely needle-phobic. I asked the doctor if their was a way I could get put to sleep, and that's what I did. Most of the time they will tell you no. If that's the case ask for the laughing gas too calm you down a little bit, you won't be as afraid. :) If you have any questions message me on m Youtube. :D

  • @nonormaltwins Don't worry about it. I just had my ingrown big toenail surgery yesterday. It did not hurt at all. They spray some stuff on your toe before they give you a shot so it will not hurt. I have not experianced any pain at all after the surgery. It feels wonderful to get rid of that ingrown toenail. I wish I would of got the surgery a couple of months ago and not went through all this suffering.

  • @leftwingwacko Thanks! But the shot doesnt urt so much, does it?

  • @nonormaltwins i got my right ingrown toenail taken out 4 times and im only 11, it just hurts a littlebit when they stick the needle but after that they just make you lay your head down so u wont see, btw u shouldnt watch this video right before this surgery

  • i might have to go, but i'm so not good with pain. can they put you out? or do you just have to grin and bear it?

  • i just did it a few hours ago, doesnt hurt at all

  • ive had this done 2 times and the only part that hurts is puttin in the novacaine needle wen it hits the muscle X(

  • haha i get ingrown toe nailes all the time and whenever they stuck the needle in my toe, it never hurt xD

  • Three possible explanations:

1.) You're lying out of your ass.

2.) You have such poorly controlled diabetes that you can't feel anything below the belt. (Neuropathy)

3.) Your doctor sprayed entirely too much of that cold shit on your toe and couldn't feel anything.

  • @moseleych they didn't spray the stuff on my toe

  • Getting mine removed left toe left side 23 of march

  • Everyone who says it hurts is just trying to scare you. You feel a TON of pressure on your toe after the shot, but that's normal, and you don't feel a thing when he cuts the nail. The recovery is no big deal either. I was walking on it the next day, and in 2 days i was walking normally on it with shoes on.

  • Is this a common thing to have? I've had it almost all my life...

  • I have had it almost all my life too.

  • damn having ingrown toe nail hurt so bad plus after the surgery it hurts more when the numbness goes away

  • I got mine today, both toes both sides lol I thought the needles would kill but they really wern't that bad. :)

  • LOOK I had mine and the shot feels like ur little sister pinching u

  • yea i got mine today it hurt bad

  • HATE HATE HATEE THE SHOTS =0

  • same here i jsut got mine done today

  • I got it removed 5 time imagine the pain and it keeps on comming back =0

  • this happened to me to, i got the needle 4 time into my toe and actually the first time the needle went all the way through to the other side and it was suppose to.

  • I do mine myself.. WITHOUTNThe needle cause every time i got the surgery, it ALWAYS came back, but once i did it myself, KABOOM! Gone for good.

  • lol i gotta get this in two hours im gonna watch lol it will fun as

but the needles r gonna hurt =(

  • holly crap i had mine done 2 bro, fucking hell the needles are something from hell!

  • I got to this back in June 2008 and it's getting more bigger!! omfg!!! I do;t want amputation of my leg!!! jesus help me!!!!!!!

  • Doctor WIN!

  • I love how you categorized this in entertainment btw. very funny =P

  • lol just had that done 2 mins ago.... brought computer while he is removing..

  • ive had this done, the only painful bit is those injection's they sting like a son of a bitch. But after those your toe just feels like a block of wood :P

  • i always pull out my ingrown toenails X-X

  • that's y they keep coming back....

  • I've had that done. The doctor did both big toes on the same day. The needles were the worst part. After that it was the loud clipping and ripping sounds that were awful. I'm glad its over and done with now. But jesus that hurt... Now I just clip the sides of my toenails every 3-4 months to make sure that never happens again!

  • i had one and it was really bad. I went to the doctor yesterday and they had to keep giving me numbing medicine because i could still feel it. while i was waiting they gave me pop because they thought i was going to pass out. they took half of my toenail and they told me when the infection left i wold have to get it out when my nail grows back i have to put a small v in my nail ugh it doesnt hurt that bad today thank goodness

  • hearing all your comments about the pain scared me like hell. what is the pain like a sharp, intense piercing sensation? or that nasty disqusting feeling of being injected with something?

  • the piercing of the needle isn't that bad actually, the doc will spray a cold spray on you to make the injection not hurt as bad.... it's the stuff going inside that burns like hell.
