  • The Maestro vocalizing at the speed of light, reminding me of Einstein scribbling his equations on whatever was at hand.

  • I Really like the bassline of Deacon in the impro, it just sounds so simple but so great.

  • even when hes not 100% he still pwns most singers what a god

  • Most singers???? Freddy was the BEST

  • the best of the best! 4ver...

  • awesome it's a hard life is so beautiful - i wish i had been old enough to go to this concert :(

  • The highest note on this performance is a D5. Because of exhaustion it was not going quite smoothly, but still perfect

  • on what SECOND this D5 note is!??! :()

  • Mr. Mercury vocalizing at the speed of light. It reminds me of Einstein scribbling his equations here and there on whatever media was available.

  • his voice was always worn out on the jap gigs because there the last ones and his voice really needs resting. that note was a bad one by the way hahah thats live for you. hence he quickley toned it down.

  • Haha xD Poor Freddie, he must be exhausted!

    He looks good mind ^^,

  • proving even Freddie wasn't perfect, just fantastic and tremendously professional

  • That's how the song ends, on the studio version.

Listen to it, and turn it up.

    Scrub.

  • I think Freddie's was from E2 to E6

  • the high notes freddie hits in those songs are in falsetto. the falsetto is not included in the vocal range. his range was 3.5, with falsetto it was about 4.5 .

  • F2-F5!! i think he even sang E2...3 octave with voice...!!! with falcetto 4 octaves!

  • King Mercury

  • fred, singing at the speed of light...........

  • could i hear those falcettos in anywhere? please answere

  • Freddie didn't have 5 octaves !! He had at least 3,5 octaves : his lowest note was a low F (in Somebody to Love) and his highest was a high B (in See the Fool I've Been)

    Btw great video

  • how many octavs is F? And how many octaves is B?

  • A note is not an octave...!!! an octave is a range beetween 2 notes. (ex: F2 to F3)

  • A note is not an octave...an octave is an interval between two notes. ex : a 5th is the interval between C and G (3 steps 1/2)

So 4 octaves for Freddie : E1 to E5 (European classification)

    E2 to E6 (US classification)

    Hope it help you...

  • E1 to E6 you mean

  • Freddie Had a 4,5 octave voice: lowest note F2(sombody to love) and his highest F6( Barcelona) and the highest note he ever reached was in Milan 1984 C6

  • The highest note is at the end of "it's late" when he scream a high E (high soprano range)

  • I thought it was a G6, but I can be mistaken

  • Eej Freddie had a 4 octave voice.

  • Nope! There won't be, ever.

  • Freddie Mercury is the only one in pop music have a 5 octave voice. And there was, is and will be a better singer than Freddie Mercury

  • its more of a solid 4 octave, but its not the range really, its how he can use it so beautifully

  • He was an amazing performer, and had a vocal range of nearly four octaves!

In concerts he sang the songs lower than the original. Espacially in the shows round '75 he sang one octave lower

  • Contrarily, in other songs like 'Somebody To Love' or 'Play The Game', he avoided the falsetto or sang directly with his chest or head register. In 'Somebody To Love', at the beginning of the song, he sang the word "can" in falsetto (an Ab4); when singing live, he shouted it with his most resonant register. Such is the case in the first phrases of 'Play The Game'.

  • Instead of singing them in falsetto as he does in the album, he preferred singing them with his most powerful register, which gave greater body and volume to the song, while depriving it of the typical sweetness of the falsetto.

  • Actually, what he did often live was to re-arrange some of the melodies so that he could avoid hitting some of the higher notes and he'd end up singing a 3rd below them. It would actually be cool because if you sing some of his re arranged live versions along with the original recordings you can actually produce a harmony. Check it out sometime and you'll see, it's quite clever.

  • he wasn't just a voice or a showman, he was a genius, was a really great writer and composer, and his music was really cool!!! he were everything that he wants to be, and i think we have to remember every little detail about him, not just his style his brain and feelings too, i'm from chili so i don't know a lot of english i hope you understand!!

  • excellent insight, perfect thoughts; thank you for sharing; tried to send you a tubemail but am locked out. ciao jk
