im not kidding at all. travis has never taken a contemporary class in his life. what he is doing is a competition jazz/hip hop mixture... contemporary dance is something completely different, and takes years to adapt to. i have a degree in the subject and am working on my masters, trust me.

Do you not realize that he is currently employed as a contemporary choreographer on the same show? Did you not just see that incredible performance? He is amazing... my FAVORITE dancer ever! i suggest you do some research on the history of "contemporary" and "modern" dance... start with the names: ruth st. denis, ted shawn, isadora duncan, martha graham, jose limon, merce cunningham, alvin ailey, lester horton, paul taylor, alwin nikolais.... then after that, look up: trisha brown, lucinda childs, david parsons, murray louis, william forsythe, alonzo king, nacho duato, ohad naharin, xavier le roy, phillipe decoufle, ana teresa de keersmaeker, jiri kylian... then get back to me.

i'll give it to you, he isn't traditional "contemporary"... I can see that. But there is no doubt that he is an amazing dancer. And my favorite dancing has always been one that combines many styles. I can see emotion and strength and he still has technique. After all, aren't all forms of art best when used in the most creative ways. To me this is creative. I do love pure contemporary, but something about the way he dances is still amazing and makes him my favorite dancer.

OK, about Benji vs. Travis. I'm a dancer and I see all the elements, difficulty and passion of this dance BUT most of my friends aren't dancers and when I showed them this they said "Ok...I guess that's neat" because they don't really get it, but then I showed them Benji & Heidi and they said "OMG!
