i like Anthony Weiner for the way he makes his political points but any congressman that shoots pictures of his nekid penis into cyberspace needs to be discarded from any form of political office..for LIFE!!!
I have a really good reason to believe that should the Dems retake the House in 2012 (Obama's a shoo-in at this point and the Senate is safe) that they are going to take the hard-tack, our-way-or-the-highway approach. Obama tried desperately to reach across the aisle, and all the Republicans did was slap him away... and with the Repubs in power now in the House, they haven't even looked across the aisle, let alone try to reach the Dems. Obama is going ghetto-ninja with a House majority in 2012
@Relbl Lmao, Obama reached across the aisle? On what exactly did he reach across the aisle on? Obama is the worst president in the history of presidents. If you can tell me where obama reached across the aisle I will not ask you what has obot accomplished in office besides wrecking the economy.
Ha! Hey Weiner, the dems did exactly what you wanted. You shoved this healthcare plan down the throats of Americans, over top of the concerns of the Republicans, and the AMERICAN PEOPLE threw a whole mess of you out over it!!
I love you rachel. my only critisism would be your comments about a "new poll" I hear americans refering to a new poll that says.....this is NOT good journalism. why not mention who did the poll and repeat what the questions may have been. the ascertain that a new poll says.....is meaningless to viewers if we don't know how reliable the polling organisation is.
Name calling is ridiculous, and why I rarely comment here. If you want some facts, watch Moore's "Sicko" where things are nicely summed up for you. Let's stop demonizing gov't and call out the real Big Bads: bloated, corpulent corporations. I don't want any more of my tax dollars going into their overstuffed pockets! Enough!
Check out the main video on my page to see how Republicons treat a disabled woman in a wheelchair at a town hall.... there's also more footage of this event at the link below the video.

57% would like to replace the entire congress --Rasmussen
Democrats by the way have control they could pass it if they wanted. It's just easier to make republicans the bad guys.
By law no one can be denied healthcare. Who's dying?
I personally know a girl who is being denied Medicare because she has a life insurance policy. She has inoperable brain tumors. Thats government healthcare. They give it to illegals and to welfare recipients though.
Yes, that's true, but they can be denied insurance. An uninsured person seeking healthcare will pay hundreds for a standard doctor visit, and 50-100k a week for hospital stays.
People are dying because they can't AFFORD healthcare, not because it isn't available.
Medicare is a flawed system anyway. The healthcare reform bill isn't Medicare, nor does it claim to be.
The rich stay rich and the middle/lower class gets boned. Hurray for Republicans
In the first place, WTF does LIFE insurance have to do with receiving medical care? Nothing!
Today I was prescribed an antibiotic for a chronic sinus infection. Levaquin 750mg, look it up. If you have no insurance, 30 tablets will cost you $850 (anywhere you call). That's over $28 per pill! There are no generics for it. Even with my "best of class" corporate insurance, I still had to pay $450 out of pocket! Where there is single payer healthcare, it cost $0!
500 mg Tavanic (same active substance as in Levaquin - Levofloxacin) costs 6 $ per pill in Sweden - and this probably comes from the negotiating power of a government.
It is not subsidized - we have other mechanisms that takes care of the people that have hard times paying for their medications.
TheLxrose: "a girl who is being denied Medicare because she has a life insurance policy...."
How old is the girl?
As I understand the person has to be 65 or older to be eligible for the Medicare?
^_^
By the way, Gallup poll shows 51% for, 41% against reform. Rasmussen poll is like Fox news. Don't depend on Rasmussen alone. They are always different from other polls.
NO the majority ARE for health care reform you f**ing idiot. That's why we elected Obama and the Democrats. You want to keep giving health insurance companies so they can refuse to pay for your medical bills, fine. Myself, I want what every other civilized country has - a single payer system. You a**holes don't know what you're talking about.
How about you stop watching FOX news and listening to Limbaugh and get real. People like you make me want to live in an alternative universe.
this Anthony Weiner guy seems to have a good idea what needs to be done. why is he not leading the charge? his ideas don't get out to the american public. all we hear about is baucus, grassley and pelosi. and honestly i'm sick of hearing what the republicans want from this bill. the republicans were voted out of office because they failed at governing - they need to be kicked on the street and the democrats need to get something done without them.
Did anyone notice that Maddow either lied or completely misunderstood what Vitter was saying. He wasn't talking about collapsing the Canadian health care system, but the system of world pricing he says the drug companies exploit.
Funny how other countries manage to have a public healthcare plan without the threat of going bankrupt. You think they might be smarter than Americans?
Fuck bi-partisanship. There is a reason the democracts got 60 seats. Lets move ahead with this bill already. I'm starting to get real tired of this game playing.

I thought a part of democracy was the will of the people. The majority are against this healthcare reform.
Bi-partianship means you have to agree with everything the democrats say. LOL

There should be just a single payer system.
What is the function of a health insurance company, when everyone can be covered by single payer, publicly financed healthcare?
What exactly is it, that a health insurance company brings to the table?

You mean the one that has drugs cheaper everywhere in the world where there's a public healthcare plan?
HeyNonyNonymous 2 years ago
There will be NO overall reduction in costs unless we get THE PUBLIC OPTION.
Barack needs to stop being a whimp & say he'll not support a bill unless it has THE PUBLIC OPTION.
Then they need to bring a bill forward with THE PUBLIC OPTION & let it succeed or fail.
If it fails - we should campaign vigorously against those who opposed it.
It looks like the DEMs will pick up 6 Senate seats in 2010, but by doing this they could pick up 12 - AND THEN PASS MEANINGFUL REFORM.

I can understand why the GOP is doign what it's doing.
They want to get back power and there is no lie or action they wont' use to do that regardless of what effect it has on the country.
I have gotten used to them doing the wrong thing.
But the Dems won't get that same benefit of lower expectations. The Blue Dogs letting the GOP do it's dirty work wont' save them.
