  • The Vatican owns these satellites do they not?....

  • we must believe in this video...it has something to tell on us..how i wish that nasa would telll the world aout this project

  • we must believe on this video...it is telling us of something very important...

  • 0:16 COOL

  • Before well be able to leave sunsystem and colonize planets the sun in natural process will burn earth and all planets. What special conditions gave us the chance to live on that planet in 1 out of 10 ... Its too random even too hard to understand. You cant just say oh atmosphere blah blah... Why isnt there atmosphere on other planets then? Why only here? Its to much to leave it just to random evolution process and conditions for livfe to expand. Dont you see? And were supposed to be only one?

  • Very cool.

  • Random question here.

Tony, what did you think of the movie Sunshine?

  • pretty cool

  • Mr. Darnell you should have voiced this, there's something about your voice :O

  • Fascinating....

  • mr darnell ur vids are great there even better when u explain them did u get my vid or comment about the objects i sent u ?

  • SWEET! Much appreciated!

  • I think I saw this video at NASAtelevision here on YT...

  • SDO Launches in about in about 10 minutes. Check out NASA TV to watch!

  • This is interesting. How much does this actually affect us? I can imagine it can be rather significant.

  • 4000x4000 pixels sounds 16th century space mission to me! Even every 10 seconds its not detailed enough...

  • @MelCartman its more detailed than every 3minutes or every 90 minutes now isnt it?

  • Love the 720P! Amazing clarity. Love science!

  • Thanks for the upload :D 5/5

  • Very exhiriating (pardon my spelling it's late!), great vid ;)

  • That's awesome!!! :D

    Thanks for posting, Tony!

  • some other nasa channel, BestOfScience, or SpaceRip already posted this. So...

    1. thanks anyway

    2. this tells me that SDO is very important

  • I know they tend to post all sorts of these vids, but I wanted to make sure people watching this channel were aware of it. Since I'm not able to make any vids right now, I thought I'd put this up.

SDO is very important, very detailed and high cadence images of the sun are unheard of so far.

  • Tony ******

Well done work ! Thanks for posting.

    Antonio

  • NASA is the best thing going in America.

Screw Hedonists in Hollywood and Wall street and Screw the self rightious faith based bible thumpers...NASA rules supreme!!! This research is a gift to us all.

    Thanks for posting

  • @CHAS1422

i concur, but brother is negative. he thinks they suck and are a waste of money. but who likes my brother?

  • I think you may have got your cold from standing outside in the freezing wind for that other recent video you made! Oh, and this presentation oddly reminded me of an Apple product launch video...

  • LOL! Probably did. Serves me right, huh?

  • Damn, this is crazy...

  • Very professional video, Tony!

  • thanks for the great vid Tony, hope your feeling better soon.

  • just amazing!

  • Probably 5-10 years or more.

  • Tony, would you let us know what was your "very small" role in the project?

  • I wrote some testing software for the HMI instrument on the spacecraft when I was still working at HAO in Boulder.

I was invited to the launch, but I couldn't get down there.

  • excellent upload...thanks for taking the time to share.. :)

  • wow! im amaized!

  • Nice video indeed! Kinda wanted to listen to Tony's talk :P But I understand he wasn't feeling good.

I wonder what these cameras will help us discover...

  • I liked this video, but I wonder about all those nutcase viewers that think NASA is a front for some vast conspiracy...

  • How many satellites, telescopes, and other things are up there, floating around orbiting the earth?

A ball park figure would suffice, like MORE than a bakers dozen, hundreds, more?

I was BLOWN away with the size of the international space station, on the tour everytime they turned a corner there were 2 or 3 more guys floating around pretending to be doing something.

What an amazing time to be around! its just mind blowing how far we as a species have come in the past few hundred years. ; )

  • Currently something like six hundred functioning satellites orbit the planet, but there are more than ten times as many man-made objects floating around up there the form of space junk.

  • Thank you for the reply, wow, its always those big numbers when you get above the stratosphere ( forgive lousy spelling where aplicable I am dog tired plus spilt wax on my keyboard dammit!!! )

So thats like 6 - 7 thousand objects floating around doing whatever they do ( is that number including non operational debris, like space junk? ) but then I guess that stuf eventually re-enters earths atmosphere and gets burnt up eh!?

Anyhow, I thank you again for your reply. : )

  • AH-MA-ZING

  • I want to take part in this project :P

  • @elfantasticolorenzo 3 words for you: We don't care.

    Great video btw.

  • lol why people always do that, "i'm first, i'm second" i dont get it!!!

  • They always get thumbs down... I don't get it either, maybe that's the only fun they get, poor kids. :D

About the video: WOW and YAY!

    The Sun looks interesting.
