MvC3 Basics Tutorial Part 1

I had big problems with the MvC3 fighting system since MvC2 didn't have the light, medium, heavy, special button schema but the LP, MP, HP, LK, MK, HK schema. I really missed that schema in MvC3 and I had really been dissatisfied with MVC3 until I was watching your video. Thanks for your great introduction, it is definitely one of the best fighting game tutorials out there. Please continue the great work

does an arcade stick really make a big difference in how you play, i originaly use a 360 controller. Like will it be easier to pull of combos( im mainly having problems with the dragon punch motion) or what cuz im thinking about buying one. Please respond

@cochisejackson if you've ever played at the arcade or something and played on it a lot and get used to it, the arcade stick comes really easy. as for doing combos, i think its easier to use on the AS. but while i was playing on the controller i held it like an AS

@Chancelator well its actually pretty cool. i borrowed the game and its pretty fun. its somewhat like street fighter but a little more chaotic IMO. yeah but since they the ultimate mvc3 coming out u should just wait for that game

@AngieeLoveexx Lots of people can use a regular controller just fine but my advice would be to get a stick if you can. My enjoyment of fighting games has increased 100% since getting one and I would recommend it to anyone.

I think maybe you should go into more detail about how to properly press the buttons. I'm not sure if I should use my forehead or my knees. Also the part about selecting characters is confusing, is that a permanent thing? Will I be able to change characters afterwards or is that permanently saved to my xbox?

@Rievoldt Overall the joystick offers more control as it offers better reaction time moves.Which take mili seconds more sometimes on a Xbox controller.Though if you aren't playing on a competetive level it doesn't really matter.

i picked normal as soon as i got the game and learned it quickly. After useing simple i got so confused with the game i had to switch it back! it was almost as if i was new to the game!

buttons are more responsive made to be pressed like that easier 2 access u can get more accurate inputs, the stick its self that move is ridiculously more responsive than a game pad, although it may be hard 2 play for beg gingers

@maccajoe Tekken is another story though :p. But as long as your execution is good. You don't have to worry about the difference between a stick and a pad.

I had a TE stick on the Xbox. And I just use a regular dpad on the PS3. Played Blazblue, SSF4, etc on the PS3.

But I did own with SF4 using the TE stick though. So it depends.

Essentially, people use joysticks because they find it easier to use do to similarities from classic games.

HRAP 3 SA's are pretty darn good. Also, the Madcatz TE / SE sticks are great too - I've had one since the First edition launched when SFIV came out. The SE is cheaper, but it's also a bit less quality compared to the TE.
