I think they should've added like, more towns or overworld areas. I'd have loved to spend more time in a place like Darkness Ridge.

Or better! Something like in Explorers of Sky where you get backstory for other characters. They should've put Absol's and this would've been his theme.

@rawrkitteh94 Actually, Thief Lord Fyros (a mewtwo who is not a clone, this is Alternate Pokemon Reality) going to save his beloved Lady Ayrh ( another natural mewtwo) from being forced to marry your Gallade after it broke up with Lady Gardevoir. (Lady Ayrh is the Lady of the Future, or the de facto queen of all psychic types. Fyros is her rightful lord) Your Gallade and Gardevoir are the Lord and Lady of Flowers. Btw Fyros is riding a Salamence (Dragon Rider lol)

Hate to spoil but I gotta tell someone--The 34 Elemental Rulers (17 guys and girls, one pairing for each type) are kind of a medieval-style kingdom cluster so all the princess stuff is common. But there are three Exiled Rulers--Fyros (Lord of the Stars, Ayrh's rightful, uh, co-ruler), Lord Hellfire (a Hydreigon, the Lord of Dragons) and Lady Chiela (the Lady of Snow, an Articuno)

They did so because the Wigglytuff Guild, headed by Wigglytuff, who sold friend areas in PMD1, already owned and managed the vast amount of area where your friends stayed at. So you didn't need to buy any and, since Wigglytuff managed YOUR affairs FOR YOU, the process was extremely streamlined. Which is a good thing.

A good thing, in the opinion of some people. In my opinion, however, excluding the friend areas is just an excuse for laziness, or not having enough development time to create everthing they wanted to. Additionally, there is no way to actually be certain that those are the same wigglytuff.

I want the option to choose the PMD2 setup or the friend areas. Also, if memory serves, then a similar "Streamlined" menu could be accessed in PMD1 if R was held while walking west of the base to reach the friend areas.

I just liked the idea of Pokemon being sorted into them based on habitat. I also enjoyed the sprite design for many of them. They aren't really necessary for the game, but I always enjoyed what they brought to the game.

I understand. I liked the addition of the mugshots (lol) in the sequel as well. I just hope that, when PMD3 is made, it has the option of friend areas. That and the ability to be other pokemon while in the town, and the ability to switch leaders in a dungeon.

But those are another story.

My theory is that the developers realized that grinding for a ton of money just to buy areas for mons that may or may not join you anyway can quickly dissolve into a bit of a chore.
