There is no need to boast about whos better or who has a tougher boot camp. I just finished 15 years in the Marine corps and I have nothing but respect for them. They may be conscipts, but they didnt dodge their duty. Russia's military may be a shadow of what it was during the cold war, but its not these guys fault. They have horrible officers and their government neglects them. I heard recently that they were given dog food for rations. Thats messed up.

@RJHOLMES2009 Yes, but they are not so good as American, if you compared US Marine Core to Russian force brach, those would be AIrborne Troops, they are badass like US Marines.

@RJHOLMES2009 The closest similarity would be the VDV, they are Airborne instead of Marine though. But they have similar tradition and similar role. They are first to fight, they are a brotherhood, there instructors are similar to drill sergeants, they are broken down in the same manner. Look them up. They have had many famous last stand engagements as well. look up Battle for Hill 3234 and Battle for Height 776, these battles are some of which have given them legendary status in modern warfare.

go to time 3:55 and look at the guys in white shirts on parade. They are at other spots too. I believe they are the warrant officers who serve as what in the US are called drill sergeants. [request for correction made if i am wrong!] Bob M

@Sauron767 You must watch too much full metal jacket lol! its a lot more than just yelling in your face in the United States Marine Corps its about pressure, of how much you can take, of how much shit can you take, reverse psychology, the DI's will do everything in their power to breakdown a Marine recruit in the corps, but its the Marine recruits job to break thorough before the DIs do. my father is a former USMC ( United States Marine Corps)
