  • 0:02-0:06 INCEPTION!!

  • my reaction to this series. is beck's reaction to this series.

  • This episode has always been one of my favorites, despite the ending being a bit confusing to me. ...but, nevertheless, this series is intelligent.

Also, when Beck is talking about the "Black Guy" and the "White Guy", I believe he was talking about Big O and Big Fau.

  • LMFAO THE BLACK GUY AND THE WHITE GUY LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:00-0:08 INCEPTION :0

  • does every good series have to mind screw you in the end

  • 6:42 What does that MEAN??? I'M STILL REALLY CONFUSED!!

  • @kenkarsonn

heres a guy who explains everything... well most of it at least

he explains most of the episodes and a lot of confusing things like the elevator floor number 666 and angel with her plucked wings

  • @ultimavman

    kiserai . net / bigo /

  • @ultimavman You'll also note that all of the heroes in this series have a decidedly more dark nature than the villains, whom seem more light themed in nature. I think the reason for this is the old deceptive looks concept. That which may seem evil is really acting in the best interest while that which seems kind may in fact be cruelty disguised.

Is there any "truth" in looks alone? One must take two paths to arrive at the truth, IE look at both arguments and weigh them properly.

  • 3 people are rotten tomatoes.

  • @kenkarsonn i see what u did there ;D

  • 1:41 It's pretty obvious Big Fau was designed for naval combat, but I really don't see the practicality of a waterborne mecha. Big Duo, maybe, but I'm not seeing it here. Maybe just because it's cooler that way.

  • @EmperorChupacabra Well, if the enemy tried to send a fleet of ships at you, a giant robot that was designed for underwater combat would be very useful.

  • I hate how Angel overtook the show. By this point in the series she's actually a bit of a Mary-Sue.

  • "People subconsciously create these memories" 3:59 door slams and the room, having nobody to see it, disappears.

  • This anime was badass cause its has the old school Mecha concepts and deep meaning other than just senseless fighting (alot of anime have stupid reasons behind why they fight now), not all this Spiritual Power bullshit they're running now (not that Gurren Laggan ain't good) with dumb backstories D<.. the only fault with this particular anime i can think of is that Roger Smith's memories/flashbacks remains unsolved. Like that vision of Big O, Big Duo, and Big Fau destroying Paradigm City

  • "What's happening to my world?"

    Deepes question evah!

  • 7:49 Thats how I feel!

  • haven't watched this show in 7 years, I'm confused

  • Wait. What. Mother of God. So, Roger is a robot, Big Os, Big Duos, and Faus were mass-produced, and I just saw the flatiron building?!

  • such a super complex series, and I feel like Beck right about at 3

  • Roger wanted Dorothy's lips on his mouth. He has a hard-on for that android. LOL!

  • At least she didn't have the piano, Roger.

  • "you're such a louse Roger Smith"

  • Roger was sent in 3 times to negotiate with Alex/Angel (the director). 6:40 he dies the first time. 2nd time he becomes a TV star 7:19. 3rd time to negotiate is this series. 7:31 he realizes the memories he sees are the rewrites. The book was never completed 5:32. "The revealation that the universe is a simulated reality." is a half truth. As their lives are based off of the book. There is no such thing as 40 years prior being they were brought to existence at that point & time in the book. =)

  • yeh she represents satan

  • 5:23 look Light Hawk Wings!

  • Does anyone know the theme song playing in the back ground?

  • @clow66 Stoning

  • omg 6.37............ thats the guy in the very end i think

  • 0:12 Angel has pointy ears like an elf or Vulcan. Also, 666? Is that suggesting something?

  • And I guess this anime is trying to sum up (TRYING) is that What is real to you is what you make it, sometimes. The sometimes could be viewed as "more than one truth".

  • If you send me to the bottom of the sea I'm going to take you with me!!!!

  • I don't really get what's going on, but I still love this anime.

  • Roger.

  • "I hate them. Both of them -- the black guy and the white guy!" LOLWUT

  • Yeah I was like LOLWUT too.

  • Thats what I thought also!

  • @krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx because they pick on the yellow guy

  • @krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx I think he meant by saying he hates Roger black tux and Alex the white tux.

  • @krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx Big O and Roger Smith "The Black Guy" black suits, black megadeus; Alex Rosewater and Big Fau "The White Guy" white suits, white megadeus.

At first I thought he was referring to Dastun as the black guy... but it confused me as he didn't really look like a black guy... kinda tan maybe...French Moroccan perhaps...

but then it was obvious the second time I heard it. I hit myself.

  • 6:37 i bet some of you are wondering who or what that megadeus is,it's called Big Venus it's designs is almost identical to Big O, with the exception of a redesigned, albeit similar, face and a pair of wings it is shown to have in a flashback to the Event. Also it appears when Angel realizes her role in Paradigm City and transforms into Big Venus!

  • When all the memories start flooding back its all so dramatic. so good.....so sad....so crazy!!!

  • Starting 6:21. great music. i always loved it. GAH! why does it have to end?!

  • megadeus are weapons created for war

people like rojer were used to controll them

war got out of hand with everything destroyed

big venus went berserk and made everything the way it was at the begining. and the people of paradime dont remember anything but the foreigners do thats why they attacked. for revenge

  • ok guys

    angel is big venus

venus has the power to change rality around

the whole of paradime is a stage

and it is supposed to be reset

    idk why

the android is just another piece of the big o

  • THIS WORLD IS CALLED ANIME!!!

  • Anyone recognize that building as the one Beck tried to get Big O to jump from into the sea?

  • WHAAAAAAAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCKIS GOIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGG OOOOOOONNNNNN!!?!?!??!] rlegv]bpeqpl gktvq] btk o4epbkj q4etkjb j[4 bjoe4 jt [qj I'm gonna need to watch this one at least 3 times
  • Maybe more than that... A lot more.

  • i believe we are all actors doing our parts that we are assigned by god.

  • the person who plays "Roger Smith" sort of sounds like "Darcia" from "wolf's rain"

  • it is the same guy (Steven Blum)

  • Also plays Toudou in Code Geass

  • so wait at 6:13 to 6:30 were the other robots besides the bigs trying to protect the people so confused

  • so what? This an anime about characters who at the end found out they were in an anime??? o.o I'm so confused T-T

  • crow boy...

  • Omg...I think I finally get it. Angel is the author/director of the 'play' of the entire story of Roger, and all the others in the city. And all the 'actors' are robots, though they do not know this? And uh...I suppose the moral would be how Roger and Dorothy are living life the way THEY want to? Uh...yeah. XD;

    DorothyxRoger FOR THE WIN!

  • Angel is basically an "author-insertion." You pretty much got it on the dot.

They're not robots though, they are human... in a sense. A "paradigm" is a way of showing something in it's most rudimentary form.

Basically the people who were living in were "actors," carrying out Angel Rosewater's story.

Eventually the "actors" became self-aware, and the key player "Alex Rosewater" hired the negotiator "Roger Smith" to continue on with the show even as it hit the climax.

  • The robots were actually part of the story, and the episode of Roger the wanderer was the play outside the play.

Shwardswald was a character that came to the realization that their world was a stage on top of a stage.

The ending was to show that paradigm city is no longer set on the stage and that Roger successfully negotiated with Angel. The show continues on, but without it being "on the stage"

  • Ok, that makes more sense. XD Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. ^_^

  • small erata.

when i said alex I meant Gordon, the old guy

  • If you didn't understand, you're not going to do anything with it..

  • so your saying that they are now living real lives?

  • Yeah pretty much...

The biggest eyecatcher was that the sky appeared, and the remnants from the Big O-Big Faul battle still linger via the giant building

The smallest detail that you can't see due to youtube quality, is that Dorothy is no longer an android, given that her eyes are now "colored"

  • No, she's definitely still got android eyes - I have the DVD and you can see it plainly.

  • OMG. An army of Big O. Imagine the possibilities. Floor 666 at 4:48

  • Guy on roof:"I hate them both, the black guy and white guy!"

    Wow...what a racist >_>

  • he means the big-o and big-fau, one is black and one is white. Too much symbolism for it to be as simple as a rascist comment.

  • t04s7's right.

  • IcePrincess, no Roger isnt a robot. Those robots you were seeing that looked like Roger were action figures. You see that there's a Dorothy action figure there aswell.

Robots are only the andriods like R.Instro, R.Fredrick O'Reilly, and R.Dorothy Wayneright (Dont know why they all have "R" before the name. Must be for "Robot"?)

  • That doesn't really prove that he isn't though. that machine was mass producing robots not toys. Their structure proves that. no toy is built that way or that big.there is a roger toy but those robots are the real deal.Although i'm not saying he's a robot.

  • I thought those were action figures (there being a Dorothy action figure at 7:22) since Roger was cloned like the tomatoes. (Atleast Im pretty sure he was cloned anyway.)

  • From what i understand those are action figure skeletons that the mold goes around , and Roger lost his memory due to the shock of finding out the world was a stage the first time , and didnt want to remember anything about it , it seemed to painfull , so like he says near the end "he most likely erased them of his own will"

  • I think it's just supposed to convey the idea of mass production. That no one's really themselves...just a copy or one in a thousand. It's just meant to be disturbing imagery.

  • Wait a minute, I don't get it! Is he a robot or something?! This anime is so confusing!

  • what is the name of this bgm playing from 6:14to 7:35 called........pls.....anyone out there...give me the name of this bgm.

  • I don't really like endings full of mental breakdowns. What a drag they are.

  • the black guy and the white guy! hahaha

  • well damn, guess he just hates everything.

If I had the finances, i would finance a 3rd season.

  • This series end can really be summerized like this: "Everything you thought you knew is wrong, and no you're not getting another explanation because Season 3 isn't coming out."

  • Fuck what you know. You need to forget about what you know, that's your problem. Forget about you think you know -- about life, about friendship, and especially about you and me. :P

  • It seems that Roger's vision was of the Event 40 years ago and that copies of both Big o and himself were mass produced. Roger made a contract with Gordon Rosewater to stop Big Venus (Angel) from destroying the city, that is to say, to nagotiate with the Director. Evidently the copies were inferior, nagotiations failed and the city was reset, but perhaps only partly reset.

  • Yes......clones......to pilot all of those Big O's

  • So Wait, clear up the memories for me please. Was the memories Roger seeing from past Paradigm Citys that went wrong? Such as Roger lying dead in a destroyed Big O that would have happened to him if Dorothy didn't come to save him?? I am so confused.

  • that would pressurize the chamber but it would definitely kill roger smith.

  • angel's voice over is faye valentine? right? haha faye and spike. angel and roger!

  • dorothy and rodger ... thats mad obvious

    lol

....i hope they bring this show back wit new episodes

  • roger likes dorothy :D

    mouth to mouth LOL

  • Man did he say he wanted mouth to mouth and does that mean that big o was just a big army.

  • well hell yeah you probably would've gotten an explanation about roger and the big o's being mass produced in season 3 IF THE DVD SALES WEREN'T SO LOW...

  • so what the hell was watching over paradigm city?

  • Us.

  • Wait, so you mean we were watching them, as in the people who watch this show and the animators? o.O

  • some people say life is a stage, and we are actors.

ever hear of that metaphor? apply to this setting and bickety bam.

  • Angel: How?

Gordon Rosewater: He is the One.

  • haha

  • sign the big o season three petition

  • Yay i knew she would come back to life. roger is so funny wanting "mouth to mouth" with dorothy xD. Roger and dorothy forever ^w^

  • Man this is the third time ive seen the ending of this show and I still dont get it.

  • water pressure, anyone?

  • Ooooo... Dorothy in a diver's suit. Haha. Roger wanted mouth to mouth.

  • Que?

  • Alex Rosewater has lost his marbles. He was so jealous of Roger Smith that he got his own megadeus. Pathetic.

  • Props to Dorothy for even being able to scream without any sort of inflection.
