  • I live in the tropics, I have heard of the sweet scents of cherry blossoms-----sigh- i was wondering- ---we get imported cherries, supposed i dry a seed until it cracks, then plant it in the fridge, and keep it in my bedroom where it has a/c behind my bed where there is light. WILL IT GROW?! I need to experience the blossoms and fruits....

  • Love cherries! I just baked a homemade cherry dish yesterday

  • I'm on a rental property. We've been here since circa 2001 though, and I've thought occasionally on planting a cherry tree but I'm concerned that I'll never get to see the "fruits of My labor" if I do, then leave. How long before the average cherry tree planted in the shaded, fertile soil in the Southeast begins to produce fruit? Thanks!

  • @glamkitten24 It will do better in a sunny spot, but you will have a few fruits the first or second year.

  • I gotta say...these videos have changed my whole ideology on growing/planting/pruning cherry trees.

  • What do you use to keep the weeds suppressed around the trees in your orchard? I'm in southern California and don't know how to manage all the foxtails, pigweed, and other noxious plants. I want my orchard to look like yours. What should I do?

  • ok, I don't hear a thing when you start talking, what happened to the sound.. I hear the intro, but not you.

  • Hello, When you talk about that first initial cut to me. I can that be done with most dwarf trees whether it be an apple or cherry your Peachtree. In order to keep the tree short thank you very much

  • what would you plant for a better dwarf "compact Stella" on colt or mahaleb?

  • @MegaJim79 Colt would be more dwarfing, but really you want to choose the rootstock best suited for your area, and keep the tree small by summer pruning.

  • @DaveWilsonTrees

Do you work with Gisela 5 ever?

  • @79Testo We don't grow it, but we could answer any question you have about it.

  • @MegaJim79 They're both about 85% of standard. But you can keep any fruit tree to any desired height with summer pruning.

  • What about Gisella 5 rootstock for dwarfing?

there is really good feedback for it.

can you show us how compact stella looks?

  • @MegaJim79 We don't grow compact stella. It's either a sport of Stella, or Stella on a semi-dwarf rootstock. Stella is not the greatest cherry. Can't comment on the compact version.
