This is ingenious, what made you think of it.. lol. I've done something similar on a different TT when I was still a little kid but I had to fatten up the round thing on the motor much more to make it work.. I used pieces of scotch tape until I got it to about the right speed.. very cool!
Ok,that lookes very nice and sounds great, but you can also buy a new recordplayer with 33,45 and 78 rpm.....
I don't know what the prices are in your country, but here (i live in amsterdam -The Netherlands) you can buy a new recordplayer for 50 euro's (with three speeds)
I love your 78 rpm Beach Boys records, and i wonder if you can also buy them in Holland.....Thank you so much for the updates and al lot of greets from Amsterdam!Marc
@mtorringa this record was a limited press and they sold out fast, u might still b able to find a copy on ebay but the record may cost you a bit of money!
Thanks so much for sharing this! Can you tell us if you think the records would be OK on a vintage player. Of course using the 33 needle instead of the 78 needle. So afraid I'll ruin my copy when I get it.
@RaymondTVinyl The new Beach Boys is on modern vinyl not shellac. There would be no issues playing them with a 33 needle. Of course if the needle is worn or other issues wil your turntable, your record could still be ruined.
Also, did you have to do any speed adjustments with the recording software? I had to send this to my vinyl friends on Facebook, this just tripped me out. Thanks!
@evankirk No. I had to adjust the speed of the player so it would play correctly. I knew how long the song was. I timed it and adjusted it slower or faster. I think I was 1 or 2 seconds off, but I thought that was good enough.
Clever!!

That was fascinating! How in the world does that work? I have never seen anyone do this before.
