How's he distorting? Please explain. Reagan simply says that taxing low on alarge economy is better than taxing high on a small economy, and that the tax rate should never hurt the economy. Nothing a lliberal would not agree with. that doesn't take away frm the fact that Reagan in this clip says that HIGHER TAXES HELPS BRING DOWN THE DEFICIT.
@shnoepie1 I don't think that is what I got from that. I think what he was saying was with the GNP growing, a 19% tax on a higer GNP brings in more revenues than 19% on a lower GNP. So cutting taxes helps grow the GNP thus the tax rate stays the same at 19% but brings in more due to the higher GNP. Matthews is distorting in a way because he only plays the part of the press conference and not all of it. Same as everybody else though.
