Prophecy is speaking forth the Word of God for a future event to take place and it is inspired by the Holy Spirit not by man. Also prophecy is conditional, those that are hearing must believe by faith that the words spoken will come to pass in that person’s life or the life of the persons hearing the Word of The Lord.
