  • i like his interest in metaphysical comparison, but the argument of "if there was no music there would be no life" is not logical or factual. oh well youre still a god jody!

  • @PilotDoofy I believe this because even electrons experience a wave function. All matter vibrates at a certain frequency. So to say there is no music, then you have no waves/vibrations/oscillations, which would makeup for a universe nothing like ours.

  • @PilotDoofy Well, his statement does imply the fact that ALL phenomena are made of energy and vibration. Not just sound or music. From a grain of sand to a mountain range and to the most massive star systems... ALL of creation emanates from the original vibrations of the big bang and have never stopped.

My playing would have been very different just hearing one line,..& will now be forever changed.... So free,......Pure honest human love of music,..the mans a god send for any musician & he should be worshiped by all guitar players just for being here in our time.....So Numbingly humbling,.......thats all said right to your heart Jody Fisher.......Thank you Jody,.........Really excited to get your CD and book

  • Oooooooooooh shiiiizz, that's my teacher!!

  • greatest teacher....of all time.

  • what is that guitar?

  • @ShadKiklas klein guitar

  • HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE musician ang teacher !! its a valuable guitar lesson even listen to the guy just talking!!!....You are Great Mr Fisher!!

  • Everything in the physical world is just music. I loved this.

  • This man doesn't have a wikipedia page? Shame.

  • pure genius.

  • I've never thought of it this way...Jody Fisher is not simply amazing or incredible...he's beyond any complement.

  • He obviously is a master theorist, in order for him to play like that without plannin any of his musical movements ahead of time and for it to sound so cohesive and perfect is almost unreal!!!! Most guitar players I've studied will tell ya they really dont do much improvising that most everything they play is planned out and rehearsed over and over, and these are guys like Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai and of course Satriani

  • @TheTom5150 but is just another category of making music. (I hope this doesnt't sound arrogant). with the few musicians I played yet, there were good one's that planned all their performance, some who only outline it a bit, and sometimes it all comes together freely. it all depends on style and audience.

  • impressive

  • What kind of guitar he have? o.O

  • @0000x0000x klein guitars.i think andy summers used to play one

  • his books are amazing! first time books really started teaching me about music theory and how to use it while playing

  • i just thought about what he said about music vibrating and life... deep stuff man.

  • This guitarist is a living legend. True chameleon in the way he performs and plays, adaption and versatility.

  • this guy....incredible...INCREDIBLE fucking musician. I wouldn't say he's only scratched the surface because he's probably one of the best at what he does. As a fellow guitar player I can say cheers man, you have unlimited knowledge packed into a simple mortal body. how do you do it lol

  • /watch?v=FcVWA4Bd5Hk

  • jody rules! hes my guitar teacher!

  • @rattlehead13 totally jealous bro

  • @neilxpeart hah yea its crazy man lol if you live in california and attend riverside community college, you can get lessons from him man

  • @rattlehead13 I just had my first lesson with him today, it was awesome.

  • You're a lucky son of a bitch and I love it.

  • @rattlehead13 hell yeah man jody is the best! im proud to say hes my jedi master as well!

  • it's like a nice mix of lenny breau and martin taylor!

  • This guy makes me want to chop my useless fingers off.

  • @Lunarizing

LOL! Depending on how long you've been playing, you might like to stick them on E-Bay - you should manage to sell them on there, especially if they're pre-CBS :-)

  • @Lunarizing Okay. I'll help.

  • Oh wow, I have him teaching me how to play the guitar for the whole spring semester!! Damn, I'm gonna go from barely knowing what a tune sounds like, to capturing his feelings and hopefully skill in playing these wonderful musical instruments!

  • where does he teach?

  • Wow! Hes not a guitar player, he is an actual guitarist. Why isnt he in guitar hero! lol

  • Oh oh string theory

  • he has complete understanding about music and his instrument

  • this guy is awesome

  • I took lessons from Jody a long time ago. I'm still learning from the information he gave me. He's a phenomenal musician and teacher.

  • posted on You-Tube under STAXK GUITAR hear Ben Lacy play JAMES BROWN medley...its mind blowing.

  • I agree with everything he says - I don't know what I would do if I lost my hearing.

  • dude needs to make it to heaven (when the time comes) so he can do some more of this on the other side...beautiful stuff...

  • wow...

    fantastic guitarist

  • I know Tarrega doesn't have much to do with Jazz in a direct way, but I think if Tarrega came back to life and I had to give him a good example of a modern guitarist, he would feel good about hearing Jody.

  • i love that warm tone he gets, makes you wanna relax,

  • I've really learned alot from some of jodi's books. Im a big fan!

  • tuurrtttle..

  • BEESWACKS

  • That's an attitude I can learn a lot from. I want lessons from that guy.

  • who else thinks he looks like mr.slate from the flinstones??

  • Inspirational

  • I have been improvising words and music together for years now and have it dpown to a fine art it would be nice to work together on something...?

  • what the hell is that guitar?

  • @dumalucky

    It's a Klein, they run $5000ish.

  • hello Jody,

    from teacher to teacher :

was wonderful to listen to you playing.

you sound is so clean just as i like.

you move so nice with the chords, bass and the melody and your body seems like vibrating virtualy with the beautiful music that goes out of your guitar.

hope to have chance to chat music with you or even invite you to my country for master classes.

    greeting from Israel...land of jazz

    Raz

  • In other words the word of God is C Major?,,,hehe Satan is A minor. Oh, no...he is the Diminished 5th interval...lol

    I think the same way.

Matter is energy vibrating on a frequency. There is possibly an infinite amount of dimensions or different frequencies.

    Think about this,

Music may create Matter in other dimensions.. Possibly even our thoughts create existences in other dimensions. Like superimposing life melodies.

And they say Metal-heads are closed minded

    ...sheesh

    ;)

  • This is supposedly what the band Dissection was all about.

    "anticosmic metal of death"

  • A minor is better, cuz Satan is the other side of God :D

  • his jazz improv is amazing! im learning how to play jazz (along with blues) music, i hope i can be as good as him

  • WHAT! The guy from Willy Wonka is a Jazz Guitarist!? Lol.

  • These are great books, IMHO

  • how do you even tune that guitar?

  • Haha just how you'd tune a steinberger. Probably somewhere by the bridge i'd imagine

  • Watch this and then tell me EMG's can't do jazz.

  • MY FRIEND THIS guitar differs radical from other guitars like esp's amd jackson's

  • EMG's are so versitile! they really respond well to your guitar playing! you can play any style with em!

  • what kind of guitar is that. it looks so pretty! i like it!

  • that's my instructor at rcc!!!!

  • RCC? Riverside Community College?

  • thats correct

  • where is rcc?

  • in riverside california

  • doe someone knows a cd from this guy?

    he's fantastic

  • No but I emailed him telling him a little about me and asking if he offers private lessons or public lessons and he leaves me like a little basic auto response "Thank you your comments are appreciated..." WTF was that all about. Great player, AWFUL when dealing with people.

  • he teaches at RCC

  • RCC?

  • Look this guy is great. However, if you really want to hear the king listen to Ed Bickert. There is no way through any progression he didn't effortlessly master. A total freak, now retired. Search for him on you tube and listen to him. If you thought you new anything about harmony and comping and voice leading, you are about to start feeling very humble indeed. Devastating beauty.

  • alright, you've convinced me. I'm going to search him now.

  • ohmygod.......this man, this beeing....is one of the highpoints in human history.

    I'm....speechless

    PEACE

  • This dude is awesome. I feel like it really wouldn't be as hard as it seems to play like this... It'll just take a very very long time.

Psh. Im 18, so I guess Id better get started before I blink and turn 30.

  • maxmychopstix,

HI, can you tell me how to order Jody's book

please ? Are you taking course with him " on line" ?

    JOhnsonny46

  • maxmychopstix

Hi, can you tell me how to order Jody's book please ?

    Thanks

  • what tuning dose he usually play in? standard?

  • yes standard

  • how to tune this kind of guitars?

  • dont think he goes to the stage without preparation.

m sure he has a few things in mind before he presents

  • haha hello brains, way to go you think he's ugly, great comment. i guess that's why you watch music videos? not so you can hear good playing, but so you can think "hmm this man looks delicious!" maybe you can find a video of brad pitt or johnny depp playing guitar and really be moved, or touched, in your case. music isnt a fashion show, sally, maybe music isnt your thing...

  • What guitar is this ? Anybody knows ?

  • klein. i think...

  • Yes, is guitar made by Klein...i checked the site. Thanks for your information.

  • no problem...

  • This guy blows my mind.

  • oh booobbbb... don't be a slag

  • I'll show you a slag.

  • oohhh funny man :D

  • Jody, Are there any videos or CDs of you playing with straight ahead with a rhythm section that I can buy?

  • A very cool guy.

  • I feel like I learned something very valuable from this. Thank you Jody Fisher.

  • I have learned so much form Jody. Thanks for Posting this.. Aewsome..

  • this guy is mad good

  • All these lil pee necks dont know shit about music so just keep ur degrading comments to urselfs

  • "Si no hay musica,no hay vida"..I too thought about

the same line about 5 years ago.Same thing he

said, but in Spanish. The man has a very humble

attitude regarding life and music. Salud,Jody!

  • I like the guitar but damn my fingers hurt when i play!

  • You are the biggest tool the youtube community ever allowed.

  • okay...

  • I wasn't talking to you, sorry. I must have accidentally clicked reply on your comment. I meant to reply to slipknot2148.

  • play until the pain goes away.

  • Awesome video.

You have to love a true guitar master that also doubles as a Quantum Physicist.

Keep in mind, everything in the universe, is just waves of vibration on an underlying ocean of potential existence.

  • yeah everything vibrations, of course cough

  • there's no information about Jody Fisher. wow...

  • No - he's not a dick. He just hasn't explored much theory. It's okay. I was there once!

    Great insight as usual Jody!

  • what a fucking dickhead slipknot2148 pussy bullshit is shut up you fucking retard

  • guitar has been around far longer than electricity so power in guitars is a really new idea. just bear that in mind buddy!

  • this is to the guy under me. That is a very poor frame of mind to have. The guitar is ment for anyway possible powerful, or very smooth. If ur not a musician then i understand. jus dont be so closed minded

  • I dont understand why closed minded people tend to think that LOUD is BEST. I like his playing, its nice, its smooth.

  • Hahaha, his name is SLIPKNOT.

"MAKE GUITAR LOUD THEN KILL PEOPLE AND HURT MYSELF I HATE WOMEN I AM A BIGOT GRRRRRRRR."

    Is basically what you said.

  • The picture as well as the retarded song on your youtube page says it all. NO TALENT. This guy has way more chops than that crap your laying down. I like Slipknot and heavy music as well as jazz and rockabilly. Saying guitars were meant to be played heavy is ridiculous. Music is art. What you said is like saying Monet's work is hideous and all art is meant to look like Kinkade's. Moral of the story: Your an idiot.

  • Just one observation I see many peoples comments on many video clips asking which guitar, pickups, amp to use to create a particular sound.Sure all these things colour, contribute to creating our own (voice)but we need to explain to them it comes from within us it is our way of expressing our thoughts feelings and ideas through an instrument and that we can get close to that sound with any guitar and no effects just play from the heart.

Just take a look at Genil Castro I think you

    will agree.

  • Hi Through You Tube I have discovered so many wonderful guitar players and Jody Fisher is another. He comes across as a person with great heart willing to teach and share his talents with others, and to me this places him in the company of Ted Greene, Joe Diorio and Genil Castro and that's impressive company.

  • He is THE MASTER!!!

Thats the first time I listen to Master Fisher

I get in love with his playing

    Thank you Master Fisher

  • he's like the old guru guy thats trying to teach the young people lmao and he's always right, but the kids just never seem to listen.

    MASTER FISHER! lol

  • Life is vibration. Music is vibration. Therefore music is life.

Mmmm. Don't you mean that music is merely part of life and not identical to it?

Sorry to be pedantic. Great guitarist who seems to have adopted the jazz tradition of pseudo-profundity.

  • @HarryBallbag

Whoa. Chill out. He's simply saying music is just as natural as life. Your brain uses frequencies. If frequencies didn't exist you wouldn't be alive. Hence why he said "There is no DIFFERENCE... between life and music." He didn't blatantly say music was life. Obviously life in the physical form is different than life in the musical form. Trees are alive. They're a part of my life. They give off oxygen. Even though they're not human, they're life in a plant form. :) Get it?

  • Actually I meant "If there was NO music life would Bb" (:

  • Haha that's so cheesy :P

  • nice

  • is he using emg pickups?

  • Any body know what guitar has a similar sound to his?

  • um a fender american delux with a rosewood neck would sound pretty close to this! along with a fender twin reverb amp

  • I noticed that myself.

  • He always used to just play a Les Paul...I have a feeling Jody'd take any decent guitar with a neck pickup.

  • Jody is an amazing player, I'm glad I found about his fantastic capabilities.

  • this dude is fuckin sick

  • jody is amazingly observant!

  • i luv this guy

  • "If there were no music there would be no life" I love it

  • If there were music life would Bb.

  • lol

  • I have his book on mastering chord/melody and it really opens up a whole new number of possibilities I've never thought about. Jody Fisher doesn't give you chords that require finger gymnastics in that book. It's just amazing that Don Mock, Robben Ford, and Phil Upchurch attended one of his early seminars sometime in 1983.

  • how to set effect or EQ to get the sound like that? help plz

  • Jody plays clean, real light on the reverb and that's it. The tone comes from his fingers.

  • It's different from amp to amp, but I can get this sound with my amp set to:

    Bass 12 o' clock

    Mid 3 o' clock

    treble 3 o' clock

Use your neck pickup, with the tone knob rolled off quite a bit.

  • That can't be possible (okay, maybe on a bass amp.) Jody's sound has hardly any mids (the tone should be rolled of on the guitar itself) while still rolling off the mids a bit on the amp to about 10 or 11 o'clock, not too much bass but a bit more than 12 o'clock on most amps and the treble at 11 or 12 o'clock for a slight bit of attack. But your right about the neck pickup.

  • "that can't be possible". - did you even read my comment? I said it was different from amp to amp. My amp has got a cut controll as well, and I keep it quite low, this cuts mids and treble, and with almost all the tone rolled of on my guitar too.

Off course you have to be able to play dynamically with your right hand. - Maybe that's your problem? ;)

  • I bet he's one of those teachers that would give you a big talk on 'hearing what you play' for 45 minutes if you try to play a fast lick. Then he'd order you to go buy the effortless mastery book.

  • LOL. naw. He's not like that at all, he loves to teach.

  • That's the way I play I never know what I am going to play theory is my way of playing he is right.

  • I love how he has a philosophy behind playing; he is one of the few great musicians that has a higher value and connection in music and life. Another great musician is john coltrane.

  • The guy's knowledge of music theory must be into the stratosphere.

  • definitely a little pretentious. but the guys nasty at guitar.

  • a little pretentious

  • this jody fisher is amazing.. omg u just made me wanna learn jazz guitar!

  • all those years of practice certainly show....this guitarist is just brilliant..

  • Inspiring. Thank you.

  • This dude is a maestro.

  • This guy is awesome!!!

  • Dude... his guitar doesn't have a head... Should we tell him?

  • lol

  • haha.. would be an idea

  • lol-how does he tune it? or does he tune it? or not?

  • the guitar tunes itself to standard...im not sure 100% how it does it, but it smade like that to take away the whole tuning thing

  • :)

it has tuners on the bridge...

  • god bless you man.

  • my name is Jody,

    I am a man

    for years and years

I thought Jody is a name for " Girl "

until I come to know this video from

    Mr Jody Fisher

    thk you

  • its seems like all that impossible shit hes playing is just second nature to him...i want to see him play something that he thinks is really hard to play...im sure it would be glorious

  • i luv this guy

  • its a klein guitar right? the sound is just as good as the player..
