  • i want to download this song on my pc...pls give the link...immidiaetly

  • is there any way to get the whole movie score, the back ground musics, not the song.

  • This short yet powerfull tune encapusulates the very spirit of Sholay. No other film title track cud culminate the theme of its film so craftfully as this one. AR Rahman!.. you are no where near man!. The only place you exceed RD is in marketing your work with great finess (unlike RD who allowed his work to do most of the talking)

  • This is perhaps the most innovative title track of Indian cinema (no one cud exceed this brilliance). RD the undisputed king of music proves it with this title track which was based on just 11 instruments. Its starts with a westernized theme whirlpooling you in the use of french horn, later blends it with Indian folk and back with a mersmerising repeat of the tune on the whistle. Also notable is the use of guitar strokes and right pitching of drums!. AR Rahman, you still have catching up to do!!

  • very great hanks for this video

  • awesome man love it

  • How did this guy get his hands back ? and why is he standing with the guy who cut them off ?

  • i am a big fan of hollywood theme musics like LOTR, Pirates of the carribean, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Goog Bad & ugly & so many, but this is as epic as any of them, specially coming from a legend like RD Burman.. & what an awesome pic...thanks...

  • RD BURMAN THE GENIUS

  • @papun89: yes, u r right, the lead( song ) is totally different. But I felt the chords( guitar background) is very similar. It also could be that they have the same rythm, which make them sound very similar. Nevertheless, I enjoyed listening to both the scopres multiple times! :)

  • Awesome.

  • miss u RDB

  • an absolute masterpiece!!!!

  • Great collections RDXboss

  • I have covert it to MP3 and using as a rington

  • wow...1975 !!!

  • The opening sequence of the Movie Sholay is one of the best ever - especially when experienced in Stereophonic sound and on 70 mm.

There is the MG train pulled by a steam engine which comes to a halt at a deserted station. Ramlal receives the Jailor. As the camera pans to the left, the train which is now outside the frame, gives a toot (on a channel outside the screen on the right) and steams off as this music starts.

However many times you view it, you are not satisfied!

  • oh golden time

  • RD burman is a legend ...

  • true magician- R.D.Burman

  • A work of a genius!!

  • This is lovely.. Thanks for the upload!

  • Best intro song ever!!

  • The music is really a master piece but the pic is also a rear pic have u any more such pics

  • no comments to make!!!!

    absolutely speechless,,,,,,jus simply enjoy

  • off-course the rights belong to the owners of the music and the guitar piece is a copyright owned by Ilaytaraja!

  • Mareyadiru sneha "prathidwani" a Dr. Rajkumar starer, kindly listen to 60 sec point, one will know who copied who. Raja is great!

  • @rdhinakar i listened to the song u r referring to and those are completely different

ofcourse i am a casual listener and donot know alot abt instruments but both pieces seem radically different to my ears

i donot think these songs are remotely similar

  • Comment removed

  • @papun89 if you can't find the similarity: then kindly listen to this: youtube.com/watch?v=MZuraxUzmsA. This is also by Ilayaraja in 1976! Earlier one was by his guru G.K. Venkatesh and raja behind the orchestration composing and he also played the guitar part.

  • @rdhinakar i cannot understand the similarity as i said i donot know much about instruments i just wrote what i could understand from first time listening of the song u mentioned...

may be there are similarities...i would say they may be coincidental...because there is a documentary Pancham Unmixed,,i watched it and there RDs assistants said how they created the tune by accident...

  • @rdhinakar In Pancham Unmixed(documentary on RD)they said how the tune was created...

RD asked His assistant,Bhanu Gupta,to play an open chord on the guitar(i donot remember the exact terminology or not sure what that means as i dont play)...thats how the tune was created....

i think similarities if any are coincidental...

  • @rdhinakar you really don't know shit about music. So shut your mouth. Before you open your mouth, what do you know about open strings or guitar chords. Please brief me on this and then I can explain in more detail. If you don't like most fools, better to keep your mouth shut. The piece you're talking about is a rehash of "For a few more dollars" by Ennio Morricone especially the whistle part. Better to keep you mouth shut and let other think you're a fool rather than proving it by talking.

  • @hemantmehndi : I may not know the shit of music! ok, fine, do you know? I need not brief you on the strings and chords and that is not my job. I am not here to teach. What ever may be RD burman has copied. Let it be from Ilayaraja or Ennio Morricone. Unless you know on the poster and his capabilities don't vomit here. I too know music and I am a die hard fan of Ilayaraja. Since, I am not here to fight a dirty war of words with people who think they only know music.

  • Comment removed

  • @hemantmehndi : For your kind information: I think you never went through the comments: That shows you are blind! read it again I was referring only to Guitar piece. It is a straight lift from Ilayaraja's composition! Don't say the words you scraped here to another Ilayaraja's fan, they may not give a soft reply like me !

  • @rdhinakar oh I know how tamil people are and why they're being laughed at everywhere. And that is exactly the reason. So no need to warn me. And this piece was composed before 1975. It is no lift. Guitar's tend to have similar chords. How can you copyright a chord? That's sounds so rubbish. Its like "Chillipiga song from telugu movie Orange" and "Call me Dil song from Jhootha hi sahi". Listen to guitar in both ...noone can copyright the chord segment.

  • @hemantmehndi : You have crossed the line. It is we laugh on northies because of their world class brains! sorry to say this, but I too can speak ! You listen to the link and kannada film name and then speak. You are a real chowderhead ! that is what I can say. You didn't listen to the original. For red rose 1980, R.D. Burman asked barathiraja for the original notes, so that he can modify and compose for red rose, but barathiraja declined to give the original notes. You have learn a lot!

  • @rdhinakar common Blackie, you're trying scare me man? The whole laughs at you guys and you laughing back at someone just looks like a mental patient laughing at others. lol. Nobody takes you seriously. I saw the link and these home-made stories you guys come up with have no sense in them. It was not until recently that I realized that most Rajnikanth movies were remakes of Amitabh movies. And everybody talked about senseless tamil movies being made in hindi, nobody talked the other way around.

  • @hemantmehndi : Do you know what colour am I, you ass hole! have you met me before to say on my colour! mutt!! let people take me serious or not that is my concern! Your words have expressed what kind of juggins you are ! You can't argue and just vomits here to show you are here. You don't know anything. So, keep your ordure filled mouth shut and don't open it, it is smelly! People like you create hate. So, better shut. I don't think it is a worth discuss with you on this issue.

  • @rdhinakar Oh yeh .. you can use the word Northie and when I say something it burns. Nice try. Stop clowning around and like I said don't open your mouth... it just goes on to prove that you're a dumbass. I can see other than making useless/untrue claims ... like Sun revolves around Tamil Nadu, Rajnikanth is God and so on .... you got nothing to talk about. That is exactly why you're a laughing stock for the entire world. What a waste!!

  • AWESOME MUSIC.

  • Hats off to R.D. Burman. Evergreen track.

  • it can drive anyone crazy..too good

  • ......this is gold mate, gold.
