  • Nice guitar solo, not overdone but very smooth and to the point. I really like this version of the song, thanks for posting it!

  • oops wrong again! Doors didn't do!

  • I found this song after watching Linda Rondstats version. i then saw James Morrison, don't laugh too hard but thought it was the late Jim Morrison from the Doors! who also has a version!

  • finnaly someone who says the line when it comes to being loved shes first

  • His wife is one lucky cow bag (I hate her-for no reason! The reason is I'm jealous....so so jealous.)

  • James Morrison is so effing brilliant I want to scream it from the rooftops

  • yukh...rod and cat. are much better

  • i <3 his voice!

  • i wonder who the other guitarist is. he/she's hot

  • Nice nice

  • He sings this so sexy.....

  • I listen to this nonstop. He needs to put it on an album.

  • My favourite song by my favourite artist

  • Great song, but the original is still better.

  • Best cover of this song I've ever heard <3 I love how he always makes every song his own.

Nothing will ever top the original though ;)

  • cat stevens is sooooooooo talented he wrote this song when he was 18

  • i dream and i think about lot something in my head when i herd this music..

  • i totally agree, i think this and the "jealous guy" cover he did really sound even better! he's so cute too

  • I'm not familiar with this guy. Love his version of this. :-) Is he not known in the US?

  • @cindyshealed He's well known in the UK, he's only played a few times in the US. Look up his other song "You Give Me Something" which was his first single he released 5 yrs ago

  • @inyomawth Will do. Thanks.

  • Cat Stevens wrote and sung this song in 1967

  • it's a real Cat Stevens song ,he was around 18 WHEN HE WRITE IT

  • this song is itself very beautiful in all the versions ive heard... and even more marvellous hearing the original of cat stevens version from james morrison!

  • I will see him in 10 days in hyde park, london!!!

    isnt that amazing?:)

  • oh my gosh my fave sheryl crow song, sung by james morrison! super awesome!

  • @branchansonrox Cat Stevens did the original

  • @demiser44 was it? what year? wud like to hear it.... btw luv rods verson

  • It's actually a cover of Norma Fraiser..

  • @3Elinn ..

actually it's by Cat Stevens (1967)

  • i am totallyyyyy in love ... this is absolutely probably the best version in my opinion!! i love this song, but hearing him sing it just made me have a brand new perspective of it and it realllly touched me more then any others ... =] AWESOME!!

  • Já vi tantas versões desta música, mas com James ficou perfeita!!!!!! MARAVILHOSOO!!!!!

  • The color on this and the video quality is superb!

  • NiCe!I really like the rythme....I'm like shaking right now! :P

  • the national athemn for cutters

  • when you compare covers normal people actually compare them to the original version...

  • Maybe but why be normal? what is normal these days anyway..

  • @Zafiro888

Everybody is normal... What makes me say that? Well I'll start by saying that we're all different, correct? All in our own special little way, there are no two persons in this world who are exactly the same in every way. It might sound cheesy but it's true. And because we're all different that's what makes us normal. That's th way I see it anyway.

  • bella ma preferisco il grande Cat Stevens

  • bellissima graffiante, malinconica.qui si sente ancora meglio da dove Battisti ga preso la "canzone del Sole".

  • His version is great! ♥

  • Keith Hampshire covered it in 1973 and it went to #1 in Canada. Stevens didn't release it as a single. He considered Hampshire's the "standard". It's the classic version.

  • @macwattage PP Arnold released the first single of this song (written by Cat Stevens) in 1967. Then Cat Stevens put it on his own album "New Masters" later the same year (but you're right, it was never a single for him). Either of those could be considered the "original " version. I've never even heard the Keith Hampshire version... I'll listen to it now. But I'm surprised Cat Stevens would call it the "standard." When/where did he say that?

  • Yes, this guy is talented. he brings tears to my eyes. there's just something about his voice..... so emotional. "passion"

  • @tas305 totally @_@

  • i saw him then too, he took my breath away, didnt think he could sound any better than on records..... he soooo did! AMAZING TALENT and such a sexy voice!

  • saw him at manchester m.e.n 29/11/09 and he was sooooooooooooooooooooo amazing he is the best solo artist around at the moment and soo much better live :P

  • bravo james brava anche la mamma un bacio e in bocca al lupo per tutto

  • saw yim in concert last night and he was amazing...better than on cd

  • he is sexxxxay as hell.....i love him.

  • @MsAllisonelise I can´t agree more with you! JM *.*

  • Very nice version.

  • cat stevens

  • the first to sing it, who also made it, is Cat Stevens.. in the album New Masters

  • who sang this first??

  • @Hospopro Cat Stevens wrote and recorded it first, but a lot of people have covered it. You probably know the great recent version by Sheryl Crow, but Linda Ronstadt covered it, probably not long after it was written, and Rod Stewart also covered it.

  • awesome to know- i gotta say i like his version best

  • @Hospopro Since I wrote what I wrote I discovered Cat Stevens wrote it long before he became famous. He wrote it in the 60s -- '67 I think. He didn't become famous until the early 70s. Linda Ronstadt didn't record it until about 10 years after it was written -- I think it was about '78. If you get a chance check out the P.P. Arnold versions --- there's one from the 60s and one from the last few years -- 2004 I think it was. There's also a cool reggae version from the 60s by Norma Fraser.

  • great version!

  • One of the best singers out there, his voice is unique and he's so talented

  • awesome..love it..xx

  • cat's version is the best but this one is really nice!

  • Sigo prefiriendo la version de Cat

  • Great sining! This guy´s burning!!

  • No one beats the writer of this song for singing it............cat stevens.......

  • CAT!

  • He has a Hummingbird like Rod had in 77. Not a bad guitar at all. Keith Richards used to play one.

  • This guy does a pretty good cover, it reminds me more of Rod Stewart than Cat/Yusuf though, i think he needs better equipment though

  • Where can I buy his shirt?

I might be able to do a decent cover Karaoke version of this tune, but it would help if I looked as good as him in this great shirt.

  • this guy just need good equipment and to stay close to the mic cuz his voice is fucking great!!!! and the timing he gives the song within the realms of the cover, damn

  • Love it! His voice is pure perfection :D

  • Brilliant, every bit as good as Rod Stewart. James Morrison is just fantastic!!

  • it reminds me of Rod Stewart's version.

  • this is pretty good. lol when I first read the description, I thought "no way, James Morrison's been dead since '71" but then I figured out I was thinkin of Jim Morrison, lol.

  • @perryfan1996 Thanks for sharing your brain blip. Seriously, how the fuck did 18 people give this comment a thumbs up??!!

  • @perryfan1996 haha i know i thought the same as you ... I was like what??? if he was alive he would be old it was funny if it wasn't for your comment i would still be confused

  • His electric guitarist's telecaster sounds fantastic!

  • Great tone!

  • It's not too often when i'm searching here on youtube that i will find a gem of a player with a great tone

the majority of the time that this happens it's someone playing a tele =]

    favorite guitar on this earth

  • wow it was rod stewart and cat stevens put together

  • che belloooooooo non avevo mai sentito una cover fatta da james morrison..sei 1 mito!!!

  • Nah, you're quite mistaking, a Gibson Hummingbird falls under the categories Western guitars, acoustic guitars or steelstrings. A classical guitar is what they call a Spanish guitar and has nylon strings...

  • Cat Stevens always the best.

  • 1. Cat stevens

    2. James Morrison

    the other 2 suck

  • sorry but i feel p p arnold really gives it a run for the money...
