jason it's time to tell you that I draw much inspiration from your videos both for my playing and teaching.I am a harmonica player from Hamburg, Germany, hoping to hear and see you in Germany some time soon. this lesson on root notes has been particularly encouraging, and I'm working it into my lesson, and don't worry i'm giving you credit, so keep up the good work. Klaus
Really really great lesson! What u just explained is something so important to know for any blues harp player. Im gonna take it as a daily task on my harmonica practicing. Thank u for ur lessons, you r really helping a lot players with them!
Hey, what key is that in?? HAHA just kidding. thanks for all your help on the harp Jason. I cant find a teacher to save my life. So I stick with my tube do list. You and Gussow are the shit!
I have a 14 holes Marine Band M. Hohner harmonica and I am trying to learn how to play it. So far we are getting along fine me and the harmonica, but it is very hard for me to find helping tips for this kind of harmonica, could you recomend any, and thank you very much.
hey J, i think there's one of your neighbors spying on you from the window jaja, i think he/ she likes it! and so do us, thanks for the awesome lesson man!
Congratulations, your videos are great! Very useful. But why don't you use more common keys of harmonicas, such as C or A, instead of Bb or Ab? It would be much easier for everybody learning here.
No there just kind of differant names for the same kinda sound...blues harp could be any kind of harp style as long as its blues based and cross harp is a particular way of playing blues harp also called 2nd position.
Great lesson Jason. Blowing through a 12 bar progression has got to be one of the best things for new players to learn, yet so many overlook it! And listening to you play fast is always poetry in motion man.
Your technical skills are astounding!! Lots of mistakes, really? I guess that's the advantage of a virtuoso giving lessons to plebs, his "mistakes" can go pretty much undetected (either that or *I* am just musically challenged). Anyway, amazing job...If I may just say one thing...your more simplified blues spoke more to me emotionally...Thank you for this lesson Jason!
Thanks man...I like all things fast slow intellectual soulful...sometimes one better suits a maood if I played slow and simple ALL the time I wouldn't feel it as deeply. You rock for the comment and thanks for all the kind words!
I really haven't felt that there were that many lessons I could follow but I have you say you're instructional style is excellent and simple enough for me to follow along and feel like I'm acutally making progress.
Thanks for taking the time to post these videos and share your amazing talent.
hey, Jay..I'm officially now a Tube-ian princess, lol (or is that tubular?)...and from this I'm now going to practice on my Bb diatonic..see if I can show you my diatonic stuff next time we get together. LOVE your teaching videos. You make it make sense for me!
jason, thanks for that lesson. It gave me new and relatively simple way to structure my playing. I tend to be all over the place. Can't wait to get home to practice. Are you going to be at Gindick's camp in Irvine?
now this is good stuff, your doing a great job J ... these lessons are what people need not ads about how tubers need to donate or propaganda. Thanks for your contribution to the blues harp world! THE BLUES BOX w-w-w.thebluesbox-com
Hey KypHem...Yeah I'll be in NY on Sepy. 13th I'm missing Midori the famous violinist... to do the gig...shes playing here in Nashville on that weekend...Sucks..But I'll be there and in good spirits..you might as well come to my show since you'll be missing Midori as well...See you there! And Thank YOU!!!
Jason - I saw Midori about 20 years ago - what was she, 14 at the time? Awesome - I think I had a seizure. And you thought you played fast :) :). Speaking of fiddles, I'd love to hear you do a duet with Mark O'Conner sometime!!
Cool! i'm jelous I would be scared to play with Mark O'Conner...I really more than anything wantt to see Nadja Sonnenberg but she's taking some time off this year...maybe next year...
Jason! the fact that u offer this for free tells a lot about you. Thank you very much. Harpers in Russia are talking a lot about you. Are you coming to NY anytime soon?
well J with your lessons and Adams everything is now coming together. your a great teacher well done keep the lessons coming man .. I played a gig tonight with one tune by myself using a lot of what you have talked about and it went down great .. thanks J
Thanks for watching and being so dedicated !!! Sorry about your problem, It's probably your internet connection or your computer...I think my videos may be slightly larger in size due to their leangth, I use macs so I never have a problem with anything.
I really can't figure out how the above emailers are able to listen to your vids? Everytime I try, you say, 4 words and pictue and sound pauses for 20 seconds, then another 3 words and it pauses 20 more seconds.
It took me over 40 minutes to listen to one of your vids very frustrating.Could it be that there is so many others trying to listen to your material at the same time?
But not everyone is experencing this, or are they???
Thanks for the reply. I don't think that it is the connection, because I just listened to "advanced bending'' with no problems but this one still has problems. Same problem with Adam's.thanks
