  • They were one of the greatest dance teams ever and Betty Grable loved having them dance with her.

  • go Steve Go !! that's my Dad! wow I can't wait to show this to my students so they can see where what I am teaching them comes from...Amazing!! and it's nice too that they say "that's all" and I heard my Dad's voice...he always said "that's all" very cool

  • I wish more people knew about the Condo's Brothers. They are sooo amazing and sadly, consistently over looked

  • well said we are all one may the world keep dancing!

    dj el nino london

  • This great clip is from the movie "Hey,Rookie" starring Ann Miller. Thanks for posting.

  • Mr.Nicholas "Nick" Condos was known in Hollywood circles as the man with "The Fastest Legs in Show Business"!

  • WOW!!! That's my Dad Steve!!!

  • @evetsodnoc : I took a master class with your father Steve Condos in the 1980's in Boulder ,CO. Steve was the greatest Paddle and Roll jazz rhythym hoofer that I have ever seen or heard!

  • And year of video is...?

  • The Condos brothers are second only to the Nicholas brothers in terms of popularity!

  • steve condos was my teachers teacher marshall davis junior, dancing breaks all colour boundaries...period

  • @Atleta...not in the 1940s

  • @Atleta...not in the 1940s - don't see any black people in this clip enjoying the dance. Nope they would have been outside looking in...

  • If anyone is interested in the real history of american jazz dance and tap dance, please read the following books: "Jazz Dance"by Marshall Stearns and "Tap" by Rusty E. Frank! Those are good books to start with to learn more about the AMERICAN art forms of jazz/tap dance!

  • damn every video on youtube has a bunch of racist comments if it werent for americans black and white where the hell would hoofin or any thing else american be.

  • vegadesanto1:....You are so RIGHT, man! where would America be without all of God's children,be they black, white, asian,or latino....contributing to this great country of ours!?

  • @sharonanony : At the End of the day, we are all GOD'S CHILDREN each and every one of us! It doesn't matter if someone is black ,white asian or latino; we are all brothers and sisters of America, and we all love our country and what it stands for,...Liberty and Justice for all!

  • @ashima352 Don't waste your time on people like sharonanony. They just hateful people.

  • My father ,Joe Stirling, was a professional tap dancer in the 1930's.He learned how to tap dance from an oldtime IRISH vaudevillian tap dancer named Mr. Joseph "King of Wings" Dunn from Buffalo,NY! My father was aspeciality Buck and Wing tap dancer, so I know EXACTLY what I am talking about!

  • lol my dad is steve condos ROFL

  • Your father is Steve Condos? he was the best paddle and roll tap dancer i've ever seen or heard!I took a master tap class with your father many years ago in Boulder Colorado! My father was also a buck and wing tap dancer in the 1930's!Peace be with you, man!

  • Your father , Steve Condos was an amazing tap dancer! He is sorely missed by the american tap dancing community!

  • well i'll put my 2 cents in i be watching the condos brothers, the nicholas brothes, astaire, kelly, davis jr. michael jackson and others and these 2 look like they would battle for the championship

  • dont forget these two cats....check out my vid of "Paulo Nutini new release pencil full of lead with Al Minns and Leon James dancing"

  • Great Stuff, Thanks +++++

  • what's up with hating on these guys from some of the folks here..? they were quite good in their day, as you can see..I also think the Nicholas Bros. were the best duo, but I also Liked Sammy Davis Jr., Teddy Hale, Baby Laurence, Coles and Atkins,Jimmy Cagney, and Fred Astaire, amonst others..all were different, which is the essense of tap.. make your own style which these guys did..Very nice stuff..

  • I've the Condos Brothers in a few of the musicals they appeared in for Fox. The most "wow" dance of them all is the "Wooden Indian Dance" they did in the film "Happy Landing." If you're going to judge them on anything, judge them them on that - it is truly staggering!

  • Amazing! Thanks for posting this. What is the music?

  • This is the Condos Bros......They "invented" a style of Tap Dance. That's it. No comparison. Awesome.

  • Are you kidding me the stole everything from the Nicholas Brothers and other great black dancers of that time they didnt invent shit just like Elvis Presely is not the king or rock an roll you digg.

  • I spoke with Greg Hines about this before passed in NYC...all tappers stole steps from each other. But these guys had there own style. different.

  • Nick Condos of the Condos brothers is the INVENTOR of the FIVE TAP WING step in tap dancing! YOU are the one who doesn't know shit about dance history!

  • Watch the Nicholas Brothers Buck and Bubbles Sandman Jimmy Slyde Sammy Davis the Atkin Brothers, the Berry Brothers, the Clark Brothers etc who don't know shit about dance you probally think Fred Astaire invented tap.

  • To Strongo39:...My father was aprofessional tap dancer in the 1930's!I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!Tap dancing is an AMERICAN art form. There have always been great tap dancers who were BOTH black and white in the AMERICAN art form of tap dancing. And I do NOT beleive that Astaire invented tap dancing.AMERICAN tap dancing is ablend of British, Irish, and African folk step dancing techniques!

  • And i have been dancing myself for over 25yrs myself. We dont call it tapping we call it what the master call it hoofing.

  • If you have been a"hoofer' for 25 years then why do have such a blatantly RASCICT attitude against the Condos brothers? the Condos brothers are great dancers and so are all the other dancers that you mentioned...both black AND white!

  • @ashima352 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,here we go again....now let me just say that if your a dancer you should always be original, I've had the opportunity to see a lot of dancers and to perform onstage too, what I know is that, the predominantly white tap dancers had a monopoly when it came to performing in the 1920's in a prestigious club such as the "Cotton Club" which only catered to white dancers

  • @5000solo5000 The Cotton Club catered only to black dancers!Only black entertainers were allowed to work in the Cotton Club!Get your facts straight!

  • and being black in those days meant that being a dancers u could only find decent pay if you had a bookie and that also meant you didnt get the necessary mainstream exposure the white dancers got, in the later 1920's however you had brothers like "Bill Robinson" who broke racist bars by sheer determination and skill and mind you that meant teaching white dancers a step or two

  • this of cause happened in the most poor of settings where black people where practically forced to dance in the streets to get their basic needs met and some steps had names that where later on changed by the mainstream white dancers and hence the so called "inventor of the five tap wing" what a crock ....of BS so when it comes to dancing please give props where props are due and I leave skiing to white folk cause I know u can ski the sh!t out of anyone on the planet....

  • @5000solo5000 : As amatter of fact, Nick Condos is one of the greatest Buck and Wing "hoofers" that ever lived and He IS THE ORIGINALINVENTOR of the five tap wing step in tap dancing! There is no room for RASCISM of any kind, in the american art form of tap dancing!

  • when it comes to rhythm and soul, hands down being able to express ones feelings with style and grace and not mechanically like I see soooo often with white folk, you got to hand it to us, hands down no competition...

  • @5000solo5000 .....All of God's children got rythym and soul....and WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN EACH AND EVERYONE OF US!

  • these guys were good...

  • the nicholas brothers are king of tap

  • wow. I was just reading about them in Jazz Dance. I didn't see the 5 tap wings for which they were famous, though ;P

  • @aklamo :The Five tap double Wings come in near the end of this film clip,...You can't miss them if you look at the footwork the right way!

  • no offense, gene kelly is definately different than these two cats.

  • Legends. 'nuff said.

  • whoa nice...style. i like gene kelly's though
