Chinese people don't much lie nor cheat, but the HongKongese sometimes cheat others. mainland Chinese medias so far haven't focus on NK, it means NK still has many secrets needing to hide. mainland Chinese people hide what they can't show, but i'm sure they never lie. so if the mainland Chinese medias start reporting NK more, then i can trust it much better. so far it's not worth trusting.

@SpudForce Well only the North Koreans know what they have in regards to weaponry. Just because you may not see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I'm sure they have plenty of top secret stuff like any other country does and they advertise other things like their intent to have a nuclear weapon. The people in the NK army are very devoted. I've been studying NK for a while now just because it's interesting. There are people who are so brainwashed they'd do anything for their cause.

It seems that so many of the NK people have for so many yrs been brainwashed to hate the U.S. and any allies. I'm sure there are people who are of the older generation who truly do hate the U.S. with the involvement with the Korean war. I can understand that but hatred is never a good thing whoever it is. They seem to really want a fight and would love one and that's why they'd win.

Although, I think the South Korean military could do the same. The North Korean economy is in shambles and wouldn't be able to support a war. Luckily, no one wants another Korean war.

If this was 10 years earlier (before NK possibly had Nukes) the US should of invaded NK... that government HAS to go... the whole damn country is supressed, starving and living in fear. Apparently if they cut the military budget by 5% they could solve the food crisis, but Kim Jong Il is to selfish and evil for that.

At the end of the day currently 500k people are in concentration camps in N.Korea, over 2 million accounted for deaths because of famine from the the mid 90s. A country where the average person grows 6" shorter than their S.Korean counterpart, a country that lives in total fear of a totalitarian government. Long-term they'd be better off even if war isn't the perfect answer

The people of the north are far gone from reality. North Koreans don't think like Koreans anymore. The reunification is a goal for the both sides, but with the communist mentality, it won't happen. Who initiated the war? Kim Ill-Sung initiated the war and brought China and Russia to against his own people. How could he able to put guns on his own people? That wasn't too hard for Kim Ill Sung because he himself was too brain-washed by communist.

nah, spirit = 灵魂 or 魂魄. come to think of it determination would have being a better would. 意志 in this case means North Korea shows that would conduct business as usual no matter what UN does. i.e. no one will make decision for north korea but their own gov't. So spirit would make no sense in this context, defiance perhaps too strong a word, determination would probably work the best
