The Dark Night of The Soul is very well described by "Saint John of the Cross" and

"Saint Theresa of Avila" in their Mystical Experiences documented on the books that both of them wrote in the 1500`s in Spain.

I like also the term that you used to simplified it "Allowing it " because of the principal that what: "We Resisted...Persisted "

If there really is nothing there to allow then teaching would not happen, because it would be completely redundant, as there is nothing there to make a better choice or allow.

Why teach?

If there is no individual expressions of God that can build on that expression through freewill then there is no teaching.

Ego clearly has no freewill, it is thought, but that which is aware of the thought is choosing to believe in the thought.

So we have teaching and deception both addressing freewill.

@Danster82 Danster, that is why in the end, as I understand it, even the teaching are to be let go. The teachings are only "pointers". If I'm pointing the sun, you will need the finger, but once you see the sun... you need to let go the finger that pointed as you won't need it any longer.
