I believe any type would work as all it is doing is providing a sterile surface with nutrient to feed whatever you are growing. The one I used however was a seaweed based agar powder and I got it from an eBay seller but I can’t remember who. Hope this helps

where did you get your agar and what kind of agar is it since there are so many kinds? i need specifically for growing any type pf bacteria
