  • I love this song.. its just that i don't get it :ii

can anyone tell me what it means??? Please?:)

deep cries out to deep cries out to.. it just dont make sense in my head!:/

  • @Oddmarsdottir73 "Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me" (Psalm 42:7). I think king David was saying that God's waterfall's (of affliction or love) fell so intensely on him that the sound of that impact could be heard in deep, distant waters.

  • @macintia2 God is releasing his rain(revelation)right now through his true prophets.A true prophet is one who teaches the mysteries of God,the word mystery comes from the word secret,in Amos 3:7 God sais"he will do nothing in the earth till he FIRST reveal his secrets to his servants the prophets"then the prophets give the mysteries(secrets, revelation)to everyone else...not someone who tickles your ears like we hear most pastors do with there false teaching of the "rapture".

  • In this song, "deep cries out," falling into deeper waters represents going deeper into new, unfamiliar, adventurous life with the Holy Spirit. "Deep cries out to deep cries out to You" could be oceans declaring God's glory. I could be wrong. Basically song's about worshiping God in the Spirit and rejoicing in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:3)

  • good job love this song

  • i wish my church would use songs like this for worship! it feels so lukewarm at my church during worship.

  • @joyjoy988 My church does these songs like this!!!:)

  • @joyjoy988 Remember that worship comes from within. You don't have to be lead to passion when you are in love, let your worship be pleasing to the King, even if everyone around you is dry!! Be blessed.

  • 5 people need to jump in the river!

  • 4 people need to cry out to god

  • We sing this in church and I love it!

  • i love this song!!!!!! :)

  • my youth group has a dance to this. lloooovvvveeeee iiiiiittttt <3

  • @SethANix Declaration songs propel us to take action (instead of just go to church on Sunday.) These songs build up people. And it’s weird, because worship is all about God, but God is all about people. And in Zephaniah 3:17 it says that He sings over us. Of course, you do not compose a worship set with only these types of songs! But a mixture of declaration and prayer and other types of songs direct people into worship. And you don't have to like the song, but know that it is a declaration.

  • @SethANix There are tons of songs like this that Christians sing like Undignified, Spring up o well (I’ve got a river of life), this Little Light of Mine, or the song I’ve got the joy down in my heart. A lot of kids songs are this way. They are all declarations meant to encourage and empower the people.

  • @SethANix There are different sorts of songs, and if you did a study of Psalms, you can see different types; Psalms are all songs that were sung in the temple. Some of them are prayers, others are declarations (which this song is), others are focused on the power and majesty of God.

  • @SethANix I wouldn’t say that the song is self glorifying song. There is no place where the person is exalted in the song. The song is about the people though. So in the sense of a worship song, it’s not standard. The premise of the song is from Ezekiel 47, where the river flows from the temple, and the river gets deeper as you get further and further from the temple, and from the river everything will live. The idea is that we want to join God in what he’s doing and jump in.

  • @markgjudy1 With Christ in us, we are the light of the world, a city planted on a hill. I find it impossible to think that we are in for the darkest time in Christian history, because Jesus won. Satan has been defeated. It’s ALREADY happened. We are to share Christ with all the earth. With so many Christians doing what we were commissioned to do, it is impossible for this to be a dark time; God reigns. Stop telling yourself that the world is so dark; instead, live and spread the light of Christ.

  • @markgjudy1 I also hope that you will drop your theories about Jesus Culture seducing the youth, and see how much of an impact they have, and (especially if you think they aren’t doing a good job) start praying that God would (continue to) work through them. At least recognize that they’ve been given favor to do great work. Pray that God would help them instead of hating them and doing nothing. Many of my friends’ lives have been changed through their work and it wasn't satan's work.

  • @markgjudy1 I’m sorry that you have such a negative disposition against Bill Johnson and his team. And to be honest, I was quite unsure before I came over here too. Regardless, I learned that if you actually got the chance to meet anyone over here at Bethel, you might just find out how much they really do love Christ and how genuinely they want to see His Gospel preached. Maybe you can take that approach instead of badmouthing people who are trying their best to spread the love of Christ.

  • @markgjudy1 Hey. I am currently a student at the Bethel School of Worship. Sadly I can't disagree more with what you're saying. I've met and lived with these people for almost a month now, and they do encourage experience, but they absolutely do NOT throw out the Truth of the Word. And I probably do not agree with all of the Bethel theology, but one thing that I know from living and working alongside them for the past month, is that they genuinely want people to know Christ.

  • Heard this song at Discovery camp, and i LOOOVE it!!(:

  • @MarkGJudy12 ..... i respect a lot of what you said.. i don't know the teachings of this Bill Johnson guy.. but i'm not sure whether or not i like this song.. where is the glorifying of God? and i do think evil spirits lurk around the church without being noticed.. which is a big problem. i think this is a self glorifying song if anything.. this isn't humility. but.. i'm not sure about Bill Johnsons teachings or your beast theory. but i also don't want to be ignorant to what could be truth..

  • Yay not to be hiper but.... I LOVED <3 IT SO MUCH!

  • Jesus Culture is the brain child of Bill Johnson & Banning Liebscher, their vehicle of choice to seduce the youth of this generation, because they know full well that their targets will buy into the "worship" and afterwards get sucked into the false teachings.....

  • @MarkGJudy1 ......because those who they want to deceive must first have their guard lowered, and as the world knows, music is a powerful way to bypass reason & intellect, the 2 things needed to discern TRUTH...The 2 things this present generation has tossed aside in favor of Personal Experience.....

  • the Church as we have known it is now officially overrun with unclean spirits, "fire tunnels", channeling, hypnotic, shamanistic music referred to as "worship"......the stage is being set for the beast that the whole world will worship and follow after, and the false "revival" is nothing more than the wholesale pollution of Western Christianity......We are in for the Darkest times Christianity has seen EVER........

  • Bill Johnson openly endorsed & promoted adulterer Todd Bentley, teaches summoning of demonic spirits under the "guise" of "waking up dormant, sleeping angels" (Wakey Wakey is the term they give it), and is linked with everyone from false prophet Bob Jones to new age sorcerer Patricia King, who masqerades as a "revivalist"......

  • This is awesome. thats it. :)

  • So AWESOME singing this and praising God to this song!

Always so much fun just getting lost in his precense.

  • G.I.G! I loveeeee this song :D

  • I luv this song soooooooooooooo much! It has such a deep meaning and I cant get enough of it! LOVE U bethel church! :)

  • My life was so bad. But i still found God and now i'm a light in this world and i shine for his words ! Jesus is so great (:

    Sorry for mistakes.

  • LOVE this song we sang it at our youth camp called MFuge and I fell in love with it (:

  • We did this song all week at The Last Turner Falls Youth Camp and it just got the tabernacle ALIVE! Then we sang it on the bus ride home.

FUSIONlife is stirring up deep deep wells in Oklahoma City!

    God is amazing -3

  • So when I sing about Jumping and Dancing in the river, or have everyone going to the left and the right...it's actually a prophetic act that we do. Meaning, we will flow wherever the river of God flows. We will stir up the stagnant waters inside us, activating holy spirit within, stirring up the deep deep wells in our hearts and souls, all so we can JOYFULLY join into the song that all of creation is singing....Deep Cries Out...So We Cry Out! Hope that makes sense.

  • @TheWilliamMatthews Thanks for your reply and explanation! It's awesome that you are accesible to aid the body in both art and clarification.

  • @TheWilliamMatthews Our church's children's dance team did a song to your incredible song. It was very powerful and great to see the youngest of my generation being so prophetic and showing others through the gifts of God that they are loved :)

  • @TheWilliamMatthews Thanks for the clarification! I really love this song! Keep on flowing!

  • @TheWilliamMatthews Amen!! Let the Holy Spirit burn in us with a fiery passion, for His Furious Love sets us free!!!

  • This song came out of a time of worship I did on a trip to College Station Texas in early 2010. It's a prophetic song about the River of God deepening in our own lives & the response of creation Psalm 42:7, Romans 8:22 as it responds to the kingdom of God coming to earth. The river of God is not a trite or flippant thing. It's pictured in Ezekiel 47 as a source of eternal life to whoever or whatever is in it. The river is a prophetic portrayal of Jesus releasing peace and healing to the nations

  • what does deep cries to deep mean? I am so with other believers who've asked this. I dunno see my God as "deep" living water? Big question mark looming over my head. Could somebody(possibly Jesus) turn that into a light bulb???

  • Psalm 42:7 Deep calls unto Deep.....

It may be worded different in different versions of the bible

  • @JifflypuffOwnage I believe it refers to the Spirit of God speaking to your spirit and vice versa. But my goodness sweetheart, I doubt you need be fearful of being held accountable for speaking His Word to Him! :)

  • were falling into deeper waters satin is pushing us down

US AS THE YOUTH NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE AND DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF STANDING ON THE SIDELINES WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO MAKE THE 1st MOVE YOU NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE PRAISSE THE LORD !!

  • what does "deep cries out to deep mean"? God says that we shall be accountable for every word we speak and I don't want to say anything to God without knowing what I'm telling him. :)

  • @JigglypuffOwnage well its (if i am not mistaken) referring to a passage of scripture in psalm 42 where David is saying that deep cries out to deep in the roar of your waterfalls of mercy and your waves and breakers of grace have swept over me!

  • @JigglypuffOwnage "Deep cries out to deep" means that our depths cry out to Gods depths...longing to be filled with his depths which are the deep waters of revelation of his word.Deuteronomy 32:1-2 sais "Hear oh heaven and earth..let my revelation fall as the rain".water is symbolic to revelation. We are symbolic to the earth cuz we were made from the dust of the earth.Jesus always taught with parables (symbolisms).

  • The bridge is basically the Cha-Cha Slide for church...

  • God knows how to have fun =)

  • Makes you wanna dance! :)

  • Feel like jumping and spinning and freaking out right now LOL this song rocks!

  • Great song

  • I really like this song, but can someone explain the pre-chorus. thanks

  • @jacobvta I always took it as 2 Timothy 1:6, except with the Old Testament metaphor of wells and refreshing springs. You should tweet William Matthews.

  • @jacobvta Hi, I have thought about your question for a while now because i play in a worship band and we are doing learning that song right now. In Psalms 42 it says "deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterfalls" the rest of this Psalm is talking about our thirsting for God and praising him despite our feelings. I believe it is our deep (the depths of us) crying out to the deepness of God, it is a response to who God is....

  • @jacobvta There's an awesome verse (Psalm 42:7) that says "Deep calls out to deep at the noise of your waterfalls, all your waves and billows have gone over me." I'm assuming that's where it came from. So awesome!

  • @jacobvta There's an awesome verse (Psalm 42:7) that says "Deep calls out to deep at the noise of your waterfalls, all your waves and billows have gone over me." I think that's where the lyrics came from, but it just expresses the overwhelming power of the holy spirit washing over us. So awesome!

  • This song just makes me wanna sing and dance and praise the Lord! Ahhh. I love it! (:

  • Performed this at my church, no one in the room could stay still. So anointed!

  • I would pay money to be a fly on the wall if this song was ever done in every church in the USA. It's a good song and I love it, but the message it has is really a message of confidence and victory in Christ! How many people are sure enough in their victory to sing and dance like this? :)

  • I pray that when we jump in, those around cant help but get a little drenched from his glory!

  • Powerful! Stir up wells, Lord!

  • The messages of this song keep singing to me even after it's over. I am so grateful...

  • lol we dance to this haha

  • This is my FAVORITE song that they play at my church! It's a fun song!

  • We just started doing this song at my chruch!!! amazing!!!!!!

  • I love this song.heard it for the first time at a Bethel conference in October.my two year old song has been hooked on it ever since.Jumping in the river is a daily occurrence in our household.a seriously annointed song.
