So glad they didn't release this one in the States. They made the right choice skipping it and going straight to VI. The gameplay is horrible in this game, the music is horrible, the character development is horrible, the graphics are probably worse than its predecessors. Final Fantasy V is an all around horrible, horrible RPG.

But Exdeath does not sit on his posterior for a year doing random ineffectual bolts in random directions. He accomplishes at least as much as Kefka in a shorter timespan. And has a superior battle theme.

Well, I have played for 2 Years Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and well, for that game you have to time a lot lol Also, In SSBB I beat Several Computers level 9(Highest Difficulty) only by blocking and countering them XD I JUST LOVE Blocks and Dodges XD And so, I started with coming around with him.
The most important things are his Turn Guard and his Omni Block.
Omni Block is Quite hard to use, but it BLOCKS EVERYTHING!
And turn Guard is for example lagunas normal Circle attack

Jenova tried to take over the world before, and when Sephiroth learned he was the result of an experiment using Jenovas cells, he decided to follow her original intentions and go along with attempting to take over the world by using Meteor. so yes, he did want to destroy the world like all other villains, but other villains did it for personal reasons. Sephiroth did it to follow in the footsteps of his "mother"

@Zellig though i do see your point, and it would normally make sense in a situation with no opposing truth, and i do applaud you noticing something like that, the reason the series is called "Final Fantasy" is because Square (its older, original name) made the original FF game with intent to be the last fantasy-based game they make, hence the "final" fantasy game, but because it was such an overwhelming success, demand was high, and the series continued
@gagejoseph91 Almost right but square was near to go bankrupt and they decided that they was going to do one last game, and it was a fantasy game so it was named final fantasy. And it becomed a huge success and the company was saved. Then they keept making ff games until they was on their feet again. The series have keept on to today and now after Sqare have merged with their rivals Enix and becomed square enix their the greatest JRPG game devloper in the world.

Neo Exdeath was never really all that tough for me, aside from the Almagest and Grand Cross spam he's so fond of. He was a fucking BITCH to steal from, though. There's been times I've tried to steal Ragnaroks, Murakumos and Dragon Lances from him over 100 consecutive times and failed miserably.
@TheHeroHartmut The Advance version has an extra dungeon available after you beat Exdeath. You get to fight Neo-Shinryu and Omega Mk2 and Enuo. The weapons help there

@TheHeroHartmut In Final Fantasy V Advance, you keep everything you steal during the final battle so that you can use it for the bonus dungeon. So, naturally, I want to try to steal some of that awesome loot because I want to make things easier for myself.
@ChrisTheBest1992 Kuja didnt do it alone in destroying the planet btw he had to trance first then gain suffering from the poeple to use ultima in blowing up the crystal. All in all he seems ok at the moment
if you think about it the enemy in final fantasy get's more creative and weirder every game i mean in this one we fought a tree who harnessed the power of nothingness (lol) and in 13 we fought a ornament who had great power called orphan
@Randomizer903 Kuja, Mateus, and Kefka are all about on equal level with me.. At the beginning, Kefka was a puss in my eyes, but after he gained that power... Good grief.. Mateus is just... The most cunning villain out of the whole series. Only one I have seen that tricks you into killing him.
8 and 9 were my first REAL FF games. I mean, I played the others, 1, 4, and 6, but never bet em.. So Ultimecia and Kuja hold a spot in my heart.

Ultimecia is the best female antagonist in the entire series (and I'm taking overall), and the rest.. Sephiroth should never hit #1 on a best FF final boss list... Jenova should have been the final boss of FF7 in my opinion.

Exdeath was one of the least interesting villains in the Final Fantasy Series, but NEO-Exdeath was incredibly awesome. Not only was he basically an 'entity' that overrode a guy who was basically already the personification of Nihilism, but it had one of the most dramatic goals in scope. Some villains fight for power or a new order or whatever, this thing was hell bent on completely erasing the very existence of the universe. It's not even comprehensible to the human mind.
@Zellig I agree. While Kefka was mentally insane, and had the same mindset to erase everything from existence, well it's just that. Kefka was batshit insane and had the desire to end all life for the fun of it. Neo Exdeath on the other hand had no mindset. He had no emotion, or feelings. Just a goal. To erase all existence. It almost makes him seem like a force more than a physical enemy. Both great villains, but Kefka will always be my favorite.
@GenesisRhapsodos992 Kefka's similar because he wanted to make a 'monument to non existent'. But his plan would basically involve killing all life on the planet or in the galaxy, it seems, and not necessarily destroying everything. Neo, however, seems to want to actually suck the entire concept of existence into a black hole - broke down the very laws of physics that make a universe possible in the first place, etc. The final boss in Romancing Saga 3 is similar too, now that I think about it.

@MrApophis It is what, comprehensible? I don't think so, just on virtue that a universe composed of 'nothing' posseses nothing to comprehend it. We can conceive of it as the absence of anything but but it's difficult to quantify nothing as something and generate any kind of image of it. Also I only smoked salvia a few times in my life and that was enough. Actually, it was probably too much.
@MrApophis I'm not a fanboy and I'm not sure why/how you perceived rage from me elaborating on my position and making a humorous jab at my own semi-regrettable salvia ab/use. Also I think 3 (Ultimecia, Neo, and Cloud of Darkness are the only ones I know of) is a pretty countable number.
@zelpyzelp IMO his backstory wasn't terrible, it's just the exposition of it that was thrown at you so nonchalantly that it didn't make it particularly striking, and the personality they gave him was what was expected from an early 90s cartoon villain. The concept of an amalagamation of 'sealed evil" is a pretty cool plot device, imo, though maybe overused.
the best strategy is to have everyone except one, master samurai and ranger, and the one who didn't master them master redmage and whitemage. Then put everyone as freelancers and give them zeninage and rapidfire(I think that's it's name).Give the one who mastered White/redmage abilities white magic and dualcast. Then in the first form use rapid fire and in Neo-Exdeath use zeninage. Dual wielding two weapons makes the first form much easier.

Mostly just because of his epic leg cramps and bad sense of direction. oh and because he's my favourite FF character. not that anything's wrong With Ex-death, i'm just not that familiar with him, that's all. i'd hate to be an advertiser but care to give feedback to my FF voice auditions. i'd appreciate any kind of feedback, who knows i might make an Ex-death audition as well.

Well, I have played for 2 Years Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and well, for that game you have to time a lot lol Also, In SSBB I beat Several Computers level 9(Highest Difficulty) only by blocking and countering them XD I JUST LOVE Blocks and Dodges XD And so, I started with coming around with him.
The most important things are his Turn Guard and his Omni Block.
Omni Block is Quite hard to use, but it BLOCKS EVERYTHING!
And turn Guard is for example lagunas normal Circle attack

Jenova tried to take over the world before, and when Sephiroth learned he was the result of an experiment using Jenovas cells, he decided to follow her original intentions and go along with attempting to take over the world by using Meteor. so yes, he did want to destroy the world like all other villains, but other villains did it for personal reasons. Sephiroth did it to follow in the footsteps of his "mother"

I think the series is intended to ironically be called 'final fantasy' because in each case the universe needs to coalesce or achieve singularity this starting the cycle all over again, creating even weirder stranger tangent universes o.O

@Zellig though i do see your point, and it would normally make sense in a situation with no opposing truth, and i do applaud you noticing something like that, the reason the series is called "Final Fantasy" is because Square (its older, original name) made the original FF game with intent to be the last fantasy-based game they make, hence the "final" fantasy game, but because it was such an overwhelming success, demand was high, and the series continued

And it becomed a huge success and the company was saved. Then they keept making ff games until they was on their feet again. The series have keept on to today and now after Sqare have merged with their rivals Enix and becomed square enix their the greatest JRPG game devloper in the world.

Neo Exdeath was never really all that tough for me, aside from the Almagest and Grand Cross spam he's so fond of. He was a fucking BITCH to steal from, though. There's been times I've tried to steal Ragnaroks, Murakumos and Dragon Lances from him over 100 consecutive times and failed miserably.

if i had to rate the villains by their amount of power and variety of powers:
1.Kuja (it's amazing how much crap he can blow up in a short amount of time)
2.Exdeath and Emperor Mateus (can't decide)
3.Ultimecia
4.Sephiroth
5.Golbez
6.Kefka
7.Jecht (he has no real magical power, but his physical abilities put everyone to shame)
don't burn me 'cause i put kefka below Seph, let alone low on the list. that's just how i see them.

8 and 9 were my first REAL FF games. I mean, I played the others, 1, 4, and 6, but never bet em.. So Ultimecia and Kuja hold a spot in my heart.

And it seems logical. I mean, Kuja screwed over a planet, Mateus and Exdeath are both pretty epic. Ultimecia is the best female antagonist in the entire series (and I'm taking overall), and the rest.. Sephiroth should never hit #1 on a best FF final boss list... Jenova should have been the final boss of FF7 in my opinion.

Exdeath was one of the least interesting villains in the Final Fantasy Series, but NEO-Exdeath was incredibly awesome. Not only was he basically an 'entity' that overrode a guy who was basically already the personification of Nihilism, but it had one of the most dramatic goals in scope. Some villains fight for power or a new order or whatever, this thing was hell bent on completely erasing the very existence of the universe. It's not even comprehensible to the human mind.

Kefka was batshit insane and had the desire to end all life for the fun of it. Neo Exdeath on the other hand had no mindset. He had no emotion, or feelings. Just a goal. To erase all existence. It almost makes him seem like a force more than a physical enemy. Both great villains, but Kefka will always be my favorite.

@GenesisRhapsodos992 Kefka's similar because he wanted to make a 'monument to non existent'. But his plan would basically involve killing all life on the planet or in the galaxy, it seems, and not necessarily destroying everything. Neo, however, seems to want to actually suck the entire concept of existence into a black hole - broke down the very laws of physics that make a universe possible in the first place, etc. The final boss in Romancing Saga 3 is similar too, now that I think about it.

@zelpyzelp IMO his backstory wasn't terrible, it's just the exposition of it that was thrown at you so nonchalantly that it didn't make it particularly striking, and the personality they gave him was what was expected from an early 90s cartoon villain. The concept of an amalagamation of 'sealed evil" is a pretty cool plot device, imo, though maybe overused.

the best strategy is to have everyone except one, master samurai and ranger, and the one who didn't master them master redmage and whitemage. Then put everyone as freelancers and give them zeninage and rapidfire(I think that's it's name).Give the one who mastered White/redmage abilities white magic and dualcast. Then in the first form use rapid fire and in Neo-Exdeath use zeninage. Dual wielding two weapons makes the first form much easier.
