You'd have them made, probably. I can't imagine it's super complex; Blue leo with a black skirt over, then the color change skirt/top over that.

It's blue on one side and black on the other. so you just grab the ends and tie them over one shoulder. Black on the outside forming the "shirt", blue on the inside, which becomes the skirt when you untie the top.

Make sure the top/skirt is long enough to cover the under skirt. Cut it square so it doesn't bunch as a top.

@cayharkins I actually was one of the dancers/choreographer of this piece and the dresses were custom made for each girl. We used two snaps...one on the back and one over the shoulder. It took a lot of practicing! This was the first competition that we actually had all the dresses fall correctly!

My team actually sent a copy of the dance to Cassie Bernell's parents and they wrote us a really nice letter back! :)

The color change is just pulling a string on the top that lets an extra layer at the top fall loose. The outside is black-the inside is colored. You pull the string while pirouetting and presto! Seamless color change.

The dance itself was pretty meh, technically. Without the color changes it'd be totally unremarkable.

For those of you wondering about the whole dance versus drill thing, the Illinois Drill Team Association sponsors the competitions for both dance teams and drill teams such as Flag teams. Some of the Flag teams have a significant dance element, such as the Lyrical Flag category. As for this routine, I agree that this is one of the most inspiring dance routines I have ever seen. I saw this live at IDTA state and was amazed. p.s. check out my videos of the Dancer Knights (my daighters team)
