  • Hi, I bought the Streetboxx 2nd hand without a manual and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get started! I think the previous owner changed all the setting because I can't seem to set up a count in or a click track in record mode, there for - I can't record any parts in real time. The record button lights up red but the the play button does not. Please can anyone offer tips and and insight on how to fix this and what mode I need to be in, in order to record stuff in real time?

  • im pressing both buttons its not doing anything

  • how do i set the measure

  • damn im havin a hard time. everytime i press record button, it doesnt tick and count. it should start ticking when i hit record so i can drop beats and loop it. i cant figure it out.

  • How do you delete a beat (not the entire pattern)? Thanks.

  • @ffilchtaeh While the SB-246 is recording PRESS and HOLD the Delete/Erase button. While holding that down PRESS and HOLD the pad with the sample you want to delete. Keep in mind that if you want to take out one pad entirely.., you'll have to hold the delete/erase along with the pad for the "DURATION" of the loop.

  • How do you delete a beat (not the entire pattern)? Thanks.

  • do you know why when i hit the play and record button it wont let me record a t real time they both work.

  • @hungyboyproductions Check your midi settings. Press the FUNCTION button then press the very last pad on the bottom right (it's labeled XTRAH 5). Make sure it's set to "Int". Also when trying to record make sure that the KIT/PROGRAM button is NOT lit. This button needs to be OFF. Hope this helps.., and sorry that I was a bit late with the answer. Been real busy.

  • Could you do a video on how to record from scratch almost as if it were straight out the box(if you don't mind) and also show all the buttons on the streetboxx because im getting a streetboxx soon

  • i midi this unit to my keyboard and try to play a string sound from the drum machine that i like but once i play my keyboard i don't hear no sound but it will let me play a drum sound to my keyboard but not a string sound don't no why?

  • still cant play and record at the same time why? can u explaing how you get to record cause i seriusly dont understand is not as easy as just pressing a button

  • how do you delet beats in the bank and ad new ones

  • Deleting an entire beat is done by pressing the delete button once.., then again to confirm.

  • Why mine Streetbox wont let me Play and Record at the Same time

  • When it's in record mode it's set to record your playing. Anything you play while recording is active will get recorded. Just curious.., why would you need to play and record at the same time?

  • @Millerrah51 I was having the same problem. Try resetting it by turning it on while holding the record button. Press it again to confirm and see if that works. Hope that helps.

  • can you add a voice to it also ?

  • There is a 1/4" input jack that can be used to mix incoming audio (such as a mic).., but it will not record any audio. It's just an input.

  • can u please tell me how to delete a mistake i recorded !!???? please guys

  • While the pattern is recording, press and hold down the delete/erase button. While holding that button press and hold the pad you want to delete. If you for example recorded a 2 bar loop and want to delete the entire part you recorded, you'll hold down that pad for the duration of the loop (while also holding down the delete/erase button). It's important to remember that you MUST have the pattern in record mode.., meaning you should also be hearing the metronome while doing this.

  • hey man do u know how to reords this same machine into adobe or acid or mixcraft i cant figure out how i got tha line link but no sound commin thru can u explain in good detali thatnx!!!!!!!

  • You'll have to record it directly to your PC or MAC as audio. Just run an audio cable from the SB to your PC or MAC.

  • That was awesome! You made a tight ass beat in like 4 secs, your the man. I'm gonna get one of those soon..

  • Thanks..., this is a very nice affordable beat box :-) Well worth the money IMO.

  • Hey, this is Scarlet and Boom from SF. We just got a streetboxx 246 yesterday. and your videos are really helpful. can you tell us the set up on quantizing and the click intro in... thanks for reading and posting.

  • Are you just wanting to adjust the quantize settings? I don't have my Streetboxx in front of me. However.., it's a simple process. You press the function button (it will light up). You then press the pad that has "quantize" printed on it. This will take you to the quantize menu where you can adjust it.

  • where can i find tha streetboxx?

  • wow these things are selling for like $50 on ebay (check completed items.. ) must lose it's appeal quickly.

  • I don't know why they're selling so cheap on Ebay. The units are selling for much more than that (new). I do know that I've seen a lot of (older and well used SB's) on Ebay. Many places I see now sell the SB package (unit, headphones, and adapter). IMO it doesn't lose its appeal. What I think the real problem is (which is with many drum machines) is people today are getting a bit lazy and have little interest in actually editing anything. Many want (out of box) presets.

  • i have it

  • Do you like it?

  • The Streetboxx is the first musical equipment I've bought, ever. For somebody like myself whose first language isn't english your videos are a lifesaver, thanks for putting them out.

However, I'm going mental trying to figure out how to properly record a bass track. I never seem to get the note duration right and I really want to learn it before I think about getting some more equipment. If you could do one where you build a bass track from scratch, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • Bass tracks are IMO pretty simple on the SB246. It just takes a little practice too. I'm pretty sure that the manual also gives you the "note layout" on the pads too. Ya just gotta dig into it and practice doing bass lines with it. If you have a midi keyboard it's much easier too :) I'm not too sure what I can cover in a vid on the bass recording. It's just like recording the other tracks...., rather you're just inputing the bass notes using the pads.

  • Alright! I'll look into it better, but thanks!

  • WHOA, i didnt even know about the repeat thing for the quant. i thought it only worked for grooveplay and step sequencer.

  • That repeat bar saves a lot of time and makes things much easier. I posted a more recent vid showing the repeat bars use as a recording tip for users. I made a nice beat with it using the repeat bar set at 32 and even showed how you can use more than one quantize setting for a pattern which then means your repeat bar can use more than one quantize setting too. You may want to look at that vid. Thanks for watching this one :)

  • bad example, should show hot to do it from the start.

  • Shown it from the start.., that's what I did. 2 bars and 16 on the quantize are DEFAULT out of the box. This vid was a barebones example posted to show how easy it's to use out fo the box.

  • oh very cool and thanks! i know. i watch videos of people making awesome stuff on those all the time, so they just look great! =]

  • great vid man. i love this kinda stuff. it's great. i can't wait until i can afford something like this. like i said before, i'd love to get an Electribe MX.

    --Silenthillvictim =]

  • Thanks! If you get your hands on an Electribe you're going to LOVE IT. Those are awesome. The drum machine in this vid (by itself) sells for $179 :) I bought this because it was cheap, runs for hours on batteries, and I could take it anywhere. Good luck on getting an Electribe!

  • electribes are sweet. i'm personally more interested in something like a roland mc-808 even if it's a Rompler due to it's sampling. and stuff. i love korg shit though.

  • That MC-808 is getting hard to find now. Roland discontinued them already. Many online sites aren't selling them anymore. It's a nice piece of gear though. I tested one at Guitar Center a few months ago.

  • wow really? are you sure you arent talking about the mc-909's? i'm sure they havent dicontinued it. it's hardly been around....okay just checked. damn. oh well hurry up with the fantom G based mc-1010 roland. or whatever

  • Yeah it's a shame they're disconntinued now. Maybe they'll put out a replacement. The Beat Kangz label is going to blow the drum machine market UP! Have you seen this unit? Perhaps Roland will release a model to compete with this new drum machine. Beat Kangz did the StreetBoxx.., now they've got their own machine and called it the "Beat Thang". It's freakin AMAZING! Look it up on the tube. Just type in Beat Kangz Beat Thang.

  • holy crap, it's like somebody had a wet dream about the worlds most pimp drum machine then they woke up the next morning and built it. sampling, effects, pitch and mod wheel (not seen since ry-30) dual SD card slots?!?!? wow!. plus it's so shiny 0_0; and 3000 inbuilt smaples. if it retails for less than an MPC it'll be a smash

  • Rumor has it that it's supposed to sell for less than an MPC. I've seen price estimates for it range from $499-$599 and I haven't seen estimates top $600 either!

  • killer!. if i could get the scratch when it comes out i'd be sold.

  • it gonna be the same price as the mpc 1000
