  • Best. Performance. Ever. To. Be. Period.

  • Pozdrav iz Varaždina! Freddie, fališ nam...

  • Dear god, Can you please take back justin beiber, lady gaga, lil wayne, and any other crap artist of today and bring back the Beatles and Queen? please? k thanks!

  • @SpeedyGoWild Did you know that Lady Ga Ga is a real big Queen fan. That's why she named herself Lady 'Ga Ga' because of Radio Gaga! :D

    Its mind blowing!

  • This is MUSIC !

  • P.S. I didn't write that whole thing out for the top comment, I'm simply a fan. :)

  • My friend and I are both 13, and she listens to rap music and whatnot, so the other day I pulled this video up and I told her "Watch the crowd, and listen to how they sing along and clap! And especially listen to the music, and the sheer voice of Freddie! And the guitar, the bass, and the drums!" Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to the talent and power of this band! I would seriously give anything just to be at any one of their shows! 20-odd years too late, I tell ya.

  • @AngieCam98 Wow, you're 13. Come closer and tell me more.

  • @SeanWitDaJacket13 creepy dude

  • lucky soundstage dude just standing there. what a douche

  • @strokerman01 ye good point actually. Also James brown

  • Thumbs if you wish Freddie smashed the guitar at the end of 'Crazy Little Thing'

  • @Fridayplaylist He was going to, but he got a no from the guys in the back sadly.

  • Just the best band and the best singer of all time...

  • Greatest Performance Ever!

  • Epic win...thanks freddie

  • Phenomenal.

  • When Freddie Pasted We all lost ... R.I.P

  • Wow.

  • Anyone who was at, or watched Live Aid on tv, will always remember Queen's set as one of the greatest live performances ever. Freddie understood the opportunity the global showcase gave them - unlike most of the other performers on the day who just seemed to think that turning up was sufficient enough for the cause - and deliberately went out to capitalize on the opportunity to reinforce Queen as one of the best bands of all time. You're irreplaceable, Freddie! RIP

  • Freddie is the only singer i know besides Elvis that sounds better live than one studio albums. Unbelievable singer. Unbelievable frontman

  • @olivierkepo I think a lot of people might put Johnny Cash in there as well.

  • AWESOMEE!!

  • Raw music...

  • now this is the set that changed my life

  • now it's all about "ai se eu ti pego"...i don't want to live on this planet anymore...

  • great sound thanks alot great memories of queen even to this day i just cant put this away lol

  • FREDDIE CARE,NAJJAČI SI...

Bolje se nisam sa ničim složio :D

  • @bageko007 :D

    Pozdrav iz Pule! viva!

  • @dddman29 Slazem se u potpunosti :D

  • Queen completely stole the show that day, legendary performance.

  • there will NEVER be another Queen...RIP Freddie, we all miss you terribly.

  • im 13 freddie and the rest of queen are my idols i love them <3<3<3<3

  • Now be honest: you think Freddie would've won a talent-show of today?

I dont think so. How fucked up is that?!!?!

  • NOW THEN " LETS GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD" . FAB

  • wait...freddie could play guitar?

  • @drglinski only 3 chords

  • gosh im 13 my generation listens dreadful crap like pop, hip hop & tecno how are there people on this planet who can´t absolutely love this band and all of there brilliant songs?

    love them <3

  • Just realised that he sings "of the world" at the end of we are the champions. Never heard that before... Go freddie

  • 3:42 Brazil Flag, Love My Home!

  • Freddie, thank you for your nice, yet very short visit to Earth. You must have been just a guest because you're surely out of this world. We miss you so much!

  • Best band that can pot on a great show and just stand there.

  • Why didnt they play all of Bohemian Rhapsody? They stopped at the best part. Even without that it was a great performance though, but I dont know about "the best live performance ever". Im guessing that claim is mostly because of how many people watched this. Great show though. Queen was the shit.

  • @Nunzi1001 They didn't because they couldn't without using a backing track and they didn't want to because it was a LIVE performance. Although sometimes they did during a live show but they all left the stage when the track was playing because they didn't want the audience to think that they were actually playing it.

Queen were the first popular band to have such a high level of 'audience participation' as it were. Before nobody used to sing or clap along.

I will always love you Queen!

  • @Nunzi1001 Many reasons why this is considered "the best live performance ever".

There was no sound check. It was timed. They had to perform their set in 20 minutes. Queen played six songs with no mistakes. Freddie was perfection. He hit every note with power, his pitch & projection were perfect and his moves on stage were excellent. Freddie had the crowd in his hands even though this was not a Queen concert.

Watch warning lights at 20:40 near Freddie's feet.

  • @Nunzi1001 None of the bands were allowed to use backing tracks, so that's why they didn't finish.

As for the best live performance there's an interview with one of the behind the scenes people who said he was furious when he found out the program hadn't reached it's goal in fundraising. While storming to the BBC booth he heard the clapping of Radio GAGA and realized that things were going to be ok.

  • I loved when the crowd started to roar when freddie started bohemian rhapsody on the piano.

    Also when they start singing.

    I wish I was there..... T_T

  • I can kinda hear john singing!

  • :22 Its the most electrifying man in all of music entertainment

  • Paldies!!!!

  • EXCELENTE CONCIERTO, UNO DE LOS MEJORES.........

  • Hello everyone! Just remember that drunkenmusicnights is only drunkenmusicnights when this is on!!!!! Queen rule!!!!!!

  • I LOVE TIS PERFORMANCE CAUSE IT TURNS THE SHITEST FROWN INTO A SMILE..... THANK YOU QUEEN...!!!!!1

  • this ih shit

  • THIS IS HOW WE INDIANS TEACH THE WORLD TO ROCK... FAROOK BULSARA UR SIMPLY THE BEST.

  • I was in Philadelhia that day for Live-Aid and I can tell you that Freddie had 96,000 of us absolutely in his hands. I knew even at the age of 15 that this was an unforgettable performance. I was pivileged to have seen it live - even on the screens.

  • Whenever I question if there is a god when someone as brilliant and loved as Freddie Mercury dies at such a young age, I tell myself, if I were God, I'd steal someone like Freddie for myself too...he's probably been singing up in heaven ever since he arrived.

  • Love how he runs onto the stage with such energy and swings his arm.

  • i cant believe rolling stone ranged him as the 18th best singer... he is clearly number 1!!!!!

  • @multekongen94 Rolling Stone magazine is stupid. They ranked Mariah Carey as number 1. What a joke. Freddie would have devoured Mariah.

  • The Beatles and Queen...best bands of all time.

  • @Lbmagicman1993 Not to mention Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. We Brits know how it's done! ;-)

  • What other bands where at this concert? Who gives a shit??? QUEEN FOREVER!!!!

  • thank you,so much Maris, best 25 min in history of music!!!!!!

  • Many many thanks to Maris. Thanks so much for your time and effort. Just lovely!

  • dasilvamedia... AMEN

  • 13 july 1985 6:41 best date ever!

  • Thank you for an incredible clean copy of one of the greatest LIVE performances in the history of Rock of Roll

  • 25 mutes that shook the rock world to it's knees! Freddie and Queen were just getting creative exploring rock mixed up with classical, and orchestra! "just not enough time!"

  • World's greatest gig!

  • I wonder what was going through Freddie's mind (and heart) as he heard the audience SINGING this way with him....?

  • @teachertonya wow !!!!!! what a great question, if only we could have known ...the ultimate performer......love him just pure class ...

  • Up yours Coca Cola...

  • The best!

  • Anyone else notice the red light on the foot of the stage turned on the second Freddie cut off the last song? Pure perfection?

  • my god, almost 27 years ago...:|

  • " Now thats what i call Rock especially when where talking my mate Freddie Mercury " ~ 'Neville'

  • the greatest band I'll never see live. And yes i know I'll never see the Beatles.

  • @ParkerMcgraw , I'm 47 years old and only wish i could see them live again! We were dirt poor when this concert took place at wembly stadium in the UK. I did however see them in Knoxville, TN in 1982, Man am I lucky! "Awesome!"

  • "all right" - this just put a smile into my face! :D

  • thanks for this treasure ...

  • 7:03 To have absolute command over a crowd that big... Do you need any more prrof this is the greatest frontman alive?

  • ** Part II **

Always seeing a silver lining, this let me finish my Bachelors, take a break for real-world experience, then go back to school a year ago to work towards my Master of Music Theory, which is where I am now.

Thanks Freddie, because of your influence, I'm not making a quarter-mil per year as an anesthesiologist. But I AM enjoying the he!l out of what I do. Wish you were around so I could shake your hand & give you a very honest hug for showing me what I was suppose to do all along.

  • @offamychain Good for you in doing something in your life that you truly enjoy. Thank you for your military service.

  • @offamychain I forgot to ask you a question. Where were you sitting or standing?

  • ** Part I **

    I WAS THERE!!

Early '85, I was more interested in how quickly I could manage to sleep with the newest girl in the neighbourhood, & attending Med-School in a few years, than making music. Then THIS happened.

Late '85, my major of choice switched to something about as far from the medical world as possible ..... Music Theory. And so it happened, minus a 13-year break to carry forward my family history of military service. I got myself shot, disabled, discharged on medical pension.

  • THE GIANTS JUST WON THE SUPER BOWL. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!

  • This unforgettable 25min.are Facts for outstanding Performance in History of the Rockmusic.

Everybody in this Moments knew that are the Minutes there will "Live Aid" make unforgettable.

Thank God for this great Moments in my Live.

  • Best rock performance in history, I remember the day, it was 95 degrees on the east coast, I had no air conditioning and I had chills...amazing

  • 19:35, John Deacon is human!!!

  • @martinorkg i dont get it

  • @bassplayinlady was 19:31 my mistake, there is an incorrect note, but what can i say, it's John Deacon!!!

  • @martinorkg is that what it is? i wonder what note hes playing. to me it sounds as if there is no bass in that moment.

  • lol like Freddie said:

-So in 1975 i knew 3 chords in the guitar, in 85 i knew 3

  • i see this: i crying, this is amazing

  • @MrWatervis DID YOU FART TO THEN EAT A BEAN BURRITO

  • The British Empire Exhibition....1966 World Cup Win over Germany......Live Aid 1985....Queen In Concert 1986.......Stuff it, it's disappeared into LEGEND..... we'll have to knock it down and build another one....

  • 06:00 - 'He who shall be obeyed' What a fantastic iconic image... Awesome!

  • We are the Champions ! ... What more is there to say ? Fucking brilliant !! brings tears to my eys

  • Freddie is such a maestro - His acknowledgement of Brian and the audience, with those beautifull bows, at the beginning of "Is this the world we created?" is simply superb.

  • this was the greatest 20 rock show. I can't even remember any other groups that played in this event. QUEEN! that is all i remember. I saw their last tour in the US in 1982 and that was sad they never came back but at least there are videos of these show.

  • well

  • Queen stole the show - the biggest problem was they only had 20 minutes and they had over 150 songs to choose from - how the hell they came up with the set they did was totally amazing and remember they came on before the end of the show to sing another song "is this the world we created" so they did an encore.

  • i listen to this every day on my phone/on my pc/on my laptop...if i don't listen to this i am cranky all day long...queen was the best band...and will remain in history for all eternity

  • best best best.......

  • @sergiumarian93 You're right. Queen were the best band ever - I saw them twice, but Freddy's dead. What do we do now? Keep on listening to his music. YES. He is not dead. His music lives on and we must keep it alive

  • i'm speechless...

Queen really they stole the show... magic, magic, magic!!!! AWESOME SHOW from the beginning till the end :) thank you so much for upload this :D

  • TY for posting this...fucking 25 minutes of pure magic

  • I used to feel bad about watching this without paying for it - charity and all - but now that I've grown up and I know what a fiddle that these charity shows are, I'm really glad I never bought a copy.

  • a 13 no laike

  • Just watched this vid again, and realised Brian May played 3 different guitars during Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Changed to No. 2 at about 13:55 and again at about 14:14 to his Red Special, I think? You can see him changing from No 2 to his Red Special in the background. Please correct me if I am wrong :)

  • @CaroleSNewZealand you are right baz plays 3 guitars he is legend

  • What I love about Hammer to Fall was when Freddie went to the drummer's podium - and Brian May and John Deacon gathered around him - and Roger playing the drums - seemed to me he was acknowledging that all four members were part of the phenomenon called Queen. Nice :)

  • @CaroleSNewZealand Another thing about the Hammer to Fall performance. Freddie never did the same thing twice. He had a different move throughout the whole song. He was constantly moving with nothing choreographed.

  • Watching this NEVER gets old. It's hard to see him in action without getting teary eyed, but this presentation in particular gently reminds me why I choose to go into music and become a singer. RIP Freddie. No one, past present or future has remotely come close to your charm and ability to command a crowd.

  • Latvia Loves You, Freddie!

  • @rihardspaegle O! Savējais :)

  • Fantastic job by a Fantastic Band! Never again to be repeated in history! Queen were memory makers! This concert started at 6:41 p.m., same time Freddie died in the evening I believe. R.I.P. my Love!

  • I still love you,Freddie...

  • Queen played this crowd like a BOSS!! Does anyone remember who else played this concert? hahaha ;P jk

  • @indyracingnut I remember -.-

  • 7:02- 7:39 look closely! Freddie is just God of all these people!

  • John's hair - what's all that about?!

  • Roger Taylor- Best Drummer and vocalist

Brian May - Best guitarist and vocalist

John Deacon- Best Bassist and vocalist

Freddie Mercury- Best song writer, singer, showman, and we must not forget the other Gents wrote songs also! My first song I learned was from my sisters room: Your My Best Friend-By John Deacon, I was 14 now I am 51 and still listen to Queen!!!!!!

  • Queen made one feel happy and leave all pain and sorrow behind ! Freddie, and the guys knew how too do it Best!!! They Gave it all 100 % all the time!!! Freddie and John we miss YOU soooooo much!!! Queen will NEVER die!!!! Just watch and Keep Listening!!!!

  • What I like..he was about the people there..not the damn camera in his face...thats what I call a true entertainer!

  • And thank you very much to you Freddie...

  • So SO sad that I will never get to see Freddie live......people that did were the luckiest fuckers alive! lol

  • It doesn't matter if he was doing drugs or not, this man and band proved to everyone for 20 minutes, they were the benchmark to live up to. Freddie is one of the greatest vocalists of all time.

  • @draven1971

    one of the best ?

only one i can think of is DIO... and you know they sing duets now...

  • Freddie was on cocaine here.

  • @SiniaDiva You too when you wrote this....

  • @SiniaDiva because of the energy he spread then he must be on cocain?? Great thinking!!! then 78000 people were on cocain too that day because for about 25 minutes they were all ecstatic and enraptured with and through Freddy Mercury...

  • 25 minutes of the greatest music and watching a God perform!

  • if you want to be the best singer on the earth ,beat Freddie

  • Wow..........

  • Maravilhoso, eterno, pefeita voz!! Fico me indagando como pode um gênio tão grande da música ter existido, fabulosooooooooooooooooo!! Eternamente apaixonada!!
