I love this song. Wish I had known that the performance was on my birthday. For that is the day I hit the half century mark. I've always admired Jill Scott and her music. And this is not only my new favorite song by her, it's one of my top five songs for 2011.

This song absolutely captivates my heart and my spirit. It brings me back to a point in my life where I was heartbroken by someone I loved so much and thought I would marry. After the incident I felt so hopeless, ashamed and depressed. But this song brought me closer to the LORD and reminded me who my true support system was. Every note and lyric in this performance embodies what I felt at the time. I am so thankful that artists like Jill and music like this still exists.

I was simply moved in such a spiritual way. I don't go to church, do believe in my spiritual connection with my God. Her simple and yet earnest approach to this song just moved me so emotionally. She seemed to be emotionally invested in every part of this song and its lyrics. She sang it from the heart like I have never witnessed an artist before. Incredible vocal performance.
