  • I am from Oldham and now live in Salford Quays. All I will say is if you don't like where you live, move. Simple.

  • Would you like to shoot a collective video of the Quays?

  • cool i just moved into millennium tower! anyone here in the same building??

  • yo manni murks liverpool all day

  • I'm actually shocked as to how little the government is doing for manchester... liverpool's been done up like a new new york recently, newcastle's been done up too, and what did manchester get? an IRA bomb and a few new buildings in the city centre? disgusting. How about us up here in oldham, we're still living in a shit tip. the area around manchester for that matter! EVERYWHERE is disgusting and run-down!

  • Thats not true....

  • Whats Manchester got to do with Salford..??

  • couldnt agree more mate

  • cos all manchester city council's money is getting spent on methadone prescriptions lol lol

  • Nice Video trica but..

Salford Quays may as well be on the moon for all we care, it does nothing for us except maybe add a few pounds to our council tax bill to kept it clean.

You want Salord then see Pendleton and Broughton because this isn't it.

  • Salford not Salord..:)

  • I am going to take pics of Broughton, I go to the Social Media Centre....

  • you ever been to oldham? it's miserable.

  • No, but old mill towns like Oldham have something to offer...

  • Cool don't forget Pendleton too..:D

  • @swemmel1971 if u weren't a loser u could afford to live on Salford quays

  • @bikegirl2 why would i want to live next to the Manchester shit canel?

A loser eh!!.. what you can tell that by my comment or my profile.. or are you just making absurd comments like that because you are mentally retarded.. Im guessing the latter..

  • @bikegirl2 why would i want to live next to the Manchester sh*t canal?

A loser eh!!.. what you can tell that by my comment or my profile.. or are you just making absurd comments like that because you are mentally retarded.. Im guessing the latter..

  • @swemmel1971 no im calling you a poor loser!

  • Thats the area i call 'the peacful part of Manchester city centre!' lol

  • How its changed around there Tricia3007 not what people expect of our city's in the north, mind you we know how good they are.

Thanks for sharing this with us all its going in to my Favourites.

  • Totally not what I expected at all. It seems like a very modern city with interesting architecture and lovely places for people to hang out. So it has been revised?? My "hometown" was a mining town and I didn't like it when I was growing up and I rarely go back but it certainly didn't experience any sort of revival, it only got worse!! Very nice trip through Salford Tricia, thank you!!

  • Hi Sandi, Thank you... who were you from? Send a PM.

    Peace :~)

  • Who were you from? Sorry I should have said "Where are you from"

  • cool 5***** cHeers for the post

  • Who is the other one?

  • Thank you Mickey... thanks for the sub...

    Peace :~)

  • Cool stuff, some lovely shots.

  • Thanks Peter...

  • I truly enjoyed this photo shoot. I had no idea Salford Quays had all this happen! I haven't been to the U.K. for 21 years now, so it was NOT what I expected at all. A rather brilliant adaptation of architecture into it's surroundings. I'm impressed. You are great with reflection! I do love using that myself. Really nice. Thanks for all the text, too. 5*****'s

    ~ Tim

  • I love taking pics of reflections it makes things look surreal, I held a few pics back, the next one is all about reflection!!

    Thank you Tim.

    Peace :~)

  • Very cool, I'll look forward to that!

  • Hey, it posted again...alright!

  • The comments keep disappearing...

  • Disappeared after I press to post it...not from your page...LOL.

  • You are quite a good photographer, Tricia! The swans are incredible. Salford doesn't look like a dirty old town like I pictured it. Very modern and pretty by the quays.

  • That makes my day Bobbie..... Thank you for your kind comment.

    Peace :~)

  • btw can you still buy meat pies and beef broth at Salford rugby games?

  • Yes, but i've not been for ages. Tony volunteer to be the Devil Duck, and roped Lee in...

  • oh yea i remember that, what is it with your husband and animal suits??

no need for a reply, children might be watching :¬)

  • what a way to come back tricia! great vid, and the added info is very intersting, even for a native Salfordian, great work (or pleasure:) *********

  • Hi Tom,

Thank you again, that video you sent me was fantastic....

The music is Gotta Jazz - Count Basic - The K&D Sessions..

    Thanks for the Sub

  • As they say across the Channel, "tout le plaisir est pour moi"..it's a cool video of a place I would probably never have seen otherwise and reflects what many cities are learning: The crappy old parts of town can become the jewels in a crown.Thank you! tom

  • No... Thank you...

  • even-steven...

  • All the pleasure is for me!

    Peace Tom :~)

  • :o)...peace,indeed!

  • Hi dear Tricia!!

    Really interesting video, fantastic music!

    :-))

  • Thank you Alcyna... I took these photos last month....

    Peace :~)

  • Fantastic work. I had to watch several times. Twice to read the overview and let it sink in and then a few times to recollect it all in the context of the images and the audio backing.

    I love anything Salford.

  • Hi Steve, Yes it's a long overview... but I run out of characters... I wanted to say the 4 pics at the beginning were at the University of Salford... concrete totem poles... have you seen them??

  • No Trish, it was all great. I just meant that I had to have the overview in my mind in order to appreciate the images and audio properly. I always remember the Totem poles as part of Salford Technology College bust I assume it has all been amalgamated with the University now.

I thought it was all great and I loved it

  • Hi Steve, if you view all my comments you will see what I meant... I made you watch again...

  • Hi Trish. You certainly did and I thought that it was great.

How is everything? How are you? How is my pal?

Lots of love to you both.

The best match ever seen in Salford!

  • He is doing well... Thank you for your kind comments..

    Peace :~)

  • is this where you live. great photography. what is the groovey music i like it

  • It's not where I live.... but thanks for the comment... The music is Gotta Jazz - Count Basic - The K&D Sessions.

    Peace :~)

  • Hi T :). salford look really attractive.. makes me wanna come ahhhhh.. Tnx for great vid!

  • Thanks Clarice....

  • Changed a bit since Lowry`s day,Do new buildings and regeneration improve quality of life? All Liverpools` regeneration seems to be about getting people in from out of town to shop. I`ve yet to visit the Lowry centre and Quays ,but I`m told it`s very nice certainly looks it,the north england seems to have shed all it`s industrial past .A sad indictment of times we live in or progress?

  • It dose not improve.... the rich get richer... and the past is just a memory...

    Peace ;~/

  • Your bang on Carl. Very few Salford folk can afford these fancy apartments so you do get investors buying them up to make a quick profit. They have come unstuck now though with the house prices as they are at the moment. Fuckin greedy bastards lol

  • Great Video....and at the end your driver patiently waiting in the Bently! :)

    ***** -O__O-

  • Thanks Bob, its a Rolls Royce....

    Peace :~)

  • i enjoyed strolling around Salford Tricia, you made beautiful photos and i totally dig the music :) favd!

    peace

    maya

  • Hi Maya, thanks for the sub.... and thank you for the lovely comment...

    Peace :~)

  • this is a nice vid some interesting stuff. i like walking around i should do a vid like this of mesilla.

  • Hi Mike, yeah I would like to see that!

    Peace :~)

  • Tramp alert at 1.30.

  • Oh arthurbrat! Its you.....

  • It breaks my heart in a way. All them new homes but hardly a Salford person in site besides them children getting there collars felt. It looks good though.

  • Very good work Tricia

  • Thank you Artur...

  • I hope developpers haven't invaded too much of the Quays. The London Thames path, for example, is constantly interrupted by buildings. Great music and pictures.

  • Thanks SJ... Yeah it is been interrupted by lots of building work... Luxury apartments popping up... the poor Salford folk cannot afford them.... What with the credit crunch!

    Peace :~)

  • you,ve been out with your fancy new camera i see....i,ve not been to Manchester since 1987

it was all flat caps and racing pigeons

    in those days ;o)

  • Ap'n it twere lad, but thaz add some O that there regeneration stuff tha knows. A much prefered thold docks meself.

  • Hey... It is not Manchester.... Salford is a City in it own rigth... but thanks for popping by..

  • trishybabe,what,s a "rigth" is that a northern word? ;)

  • Oooppps!! right....

  • A rigth is what us Northern scum use to make softy southerners understand us. Its made from wood and has nails pointing outwards at the end, its a teaching aid basically.

  • hmmm...a steep learning curve :0

  • very interesting indeed

  • Thank you Laurence James...

    Peace :~)

  • Salford's very own Indian tracker Councillor Steve Coen has already traced living descendants of at least one of the native American performers, known as Charging Thunder, who stayed behind after the show left town.

Now he's hoping the city will commemorate its historic links with American Indians by erecting a genuine Canadian Indian totem pole which first arrived at Salford Docks in the late 1960s.

  • Thank you Karen, I have been off line for a week...

    I wanted to say:

    Totem pole for Salford

Sounds like a tall story... but Salford is more like the Wild West than you think.

Salford's links with the tribes of North America date back more than century to November 1887, when the legendary Buffalo Bill brought his Wild West Show to Salford complete with 97 native Americans, 180 broncos and 18 buffalo and set up camp on the banks of the River Irwell.

    Peace :~)

  • In these troubling times it is so nice to be reminded how interesting a simple walk can be!

    Thanks Tricia!

  • Totem Poles at the University of Salford.... the first 4 pics...
